Cynthia Rothrock is unironically my favorite action star from the era. Every martial arts movie starring a woman was either softcore porn in disguise, or the fight scenes were super bad. Ms. Rothrock just comes out of nowhere with all this athleticism and talent, and while sure, the movies aren't winning... whatever awards movies get, I was never ever disappointed with one of her flicks. Glad you guys were impressed with some of her moves!

I watched Sworn To Justice a while ago. It was like a bad TV-movie and had lots of unintentionally funny scenes and dialogue. Rothrock however is great I agree on that.

I have great respect for Cynthia Rothrock. She is an excellent martial artist and she not only survived but thrived in the world of Hong Kong Kung Fu films, which is no small feat if you're familiar with how it used to be done back then. In those days one of the actors could get hurt on these sets and instead of getting proper medical attention they would typically just get back up, slap on a bandage or something and just keep going. (Not small injuries either. More like cracked ribs-level or something to that effect.) To be able to come in from the US and become a fairly well-known star from starting out in low budget Hong Kong Kung Fu movies and work their way up is highly impressive. Cynthia is also a winner of various weapons-forms competitions and is skilled in various styles including Eagle Claw Kung Fu, Karate, and Taekwondo. She is in her fifties and is a full-time martial arts teacher. That's pretty awesome.

They absolutely referenced Cobra because the villain has the same knife as the villain from Cobra, the one with spikes on the knuckle guard. That knife, which was really popular in the 90s, was made by Gil Hibben, the same knife maker who made the knife Rambo uses in "Rambo III." He also made some knives that were in the Expendables movies, including Stallone's big Bowie and the knife used by JCVD in the Expendables 2. He made knives that showed up in a lot of movies and tv shows, including Kano's knife in the original Mortal Kombat movie and some of the knives used in Star Trek shows and movies, including Klingon blades.

I will always love Undefeatable, it was my first AS-BAD-AS-THEY-MAKE-'EM movie. I was living in Pasadena, L.A. as a young foreigner college student. It must have been '95 or '96. My roommate had left a VHS around, and told me that I should watch it. I did it. And then I did it again. And again. I just couldn't stop laughing. The (highly) nonsensical story, the out of this world dialogues, the screams, the shirts ripping, the whatever it was thrown in... I fucking love this movie lol

The guy who played Stingray is Sifu Don Niam and other guy who played Detective Nick DeMarco is Sifu John Miller. They are both real-life Kung Fu brothers learned the same style of Kung Fu called Hung Fut and also they learned from the same master is Grandmaster Tai Yim.
