Thank u very good tips, helped me get a better understanding of fundamentals. I like fighting from the outside by stepping into mid range back to long range as fast as possible

Thanks for the video! First off, Mexican style is not inside punching (cant do much damage staying only on inside). Its actually mid to close range (pocket). When you demonstrate close range you are still mid to close. Close range is performed at the range where you extend your arm then bend it in the elbow and you should be able to touch the bag with your forearm. Anything closer than that and you smother your punches. If you lack space to punch check if you have crowded yourself. In that case the easiest thing is to shift bodyweight to the back foot to gain leverage. Thanks!

I can understand distance when I watch boxing, and when I'm doing partner drills, but I had my first sparring today and I just...DIDN'T know if I could strike and hit or not. A bag is so much different than a moving and guarding person. They can change a few inches in a split second, so even if my punch is a split second to get there, I could still miss. Will I get better at this with time during sparring, or is this something I really need to study and find a gym buddy to help me learn (ie. jabbing at each other while moving)?

Try to read patterns in their movement, and try to hit them where they might be not where they are.

You need to spar way more. Light technical sparring is best! You can do so much of it without taking serious injuries/brain damage! Or what I like to do is hard to body light to the head (where you lose braincells) Trust me I was in 2 different clubs and in the second one we spared every Tuesday for 1 hour straight. I improved so much faster in sparring.

Isn't that thing pretty heavy ? To make it move like that means the guy is pretty skilled, nice punching power

Still deserve respect in my opinion , I always struggle with my neck bending forward when I throw a straight punch which slows me down when I pull the punch , I'm not a boxer or anything , I just want to be able to defend myself properly without harming whoever that tries to cause me trouble so I try to learn a thing or two about boxing by myself.

Danger zone. Inside the danger zone outside the danger zone. Combos in mid range slide outside the danger zone.... just passed the outside. Then back to boxing.

I call bullshido on that- your outside and middle was the same distance, look at your front foot seeting at the moment of impact, and isnt "in the pocket" should actually be close distance more like "head to head" almost rather than middle? actually there is outside =not possible to punch, long range,mid range and close range, what i mean your long and middle ranges was same distance. Not comemnting on technique bcoz mine is also lacking, but general idea of subject is great to elaborate on that more.

agree on inside beying toe2toe i just meant that inside is called also in the pocked, you said pocket is midd range, what i want to say is this video is laking long range, the space beetwen middle and outside. I might said it in wrong way. there is lke those magic inches whent you can use straight but cant hook
@kurylko8493
@kurylko8493 6 жыл бұрын
Sir almost every punch can be thrown with stepping and most of the time in sparing/fighting even has to be thrown with steping, i guess by outside you mean far away I understand that, but we are talking game of inches here, we could be more specific here.
@kurylko8493

if difference in hooks and straights isnt valuable insight for you, then mby you should think about changing the sport, if in pocket means for you middle distance....i have no questions and no reason to continue to talk with you on this subject
