My opinion is: If Kingship depends on the recognition of that Kingship by anyone other than the subjects of that King, then by definition that king can not be a King because the King then becomes a subject of the person that must recognize him. Ramaphosa and the ANC is playing with fire here. This very principle is playing out in Australia now, where the Australian people thought they were a sovereign nation for the last 40 years, and it now turns out that they have been hoodwinked, and are under the control of the British King today. South Afrika under apartheid freed all South Africans from the colonial oppressive British King on 31 May 1961, It is the reason for the hatred of what they and the ANC called "apartheid" even when ALL black people were given independence by the then Nationalist Government. The Zulu tribe would have been and was free to be ruled by there own chosen King. That is why British colonial puppet Ramaphosa MUST make it clear to the Zulu Nation that who-ever is the Zulu King, is only king because he ( and his British Colonial paymasters ) say so, and that is the exact same fight developing in Australia now today.. the British colonialists,. Ramaphosa and the ANC have absolutely nothing to do with the Zulu Royal House and the Nationalist government always respected that.! Unlike European laws of succession, in SA the successor to the king(heir) is not born but handpicked by the King. King Zwelethini handpicked Prince Simakade, his first born to be his heir. Marital status of parents at the time the firstborn was born is not a criteria only bloodline, as long as the firstborn is from the seed or loins of the king he or she becomes the heir. Unlike in European royal lines of succession where marital status at birth of the firstborn is a decider. Where the child is born out of wedlock, but the King recognizes the child and bring the child into the first wife's kraal, the child is legitimised as heir. If the child is also the firstborn of the king, that child becomes the eventual king. Simakade is the firstborn, his father the late King Zwelethini legitimised him as his heir apparent. This situation with Prince Misuzulu(the younger brother to Misuzulu) is just to cause confusion and instability. He himself knows he is not the rightful heir hence he always looks depressed. Let Zulu culture prevails and let civil courts stay out of it.

In a clear understanding and the facts known, we should not buy into any opportunistic statements. Customarily, king or chief is born from Great wife, the wives of the king are not equal. A heir may only come from other wives sons provided the great wife couldn't bore the heir. Thus, when first son is born from great wife, on the same day is known and declared the heir is born, from birth is known that there will be no deliberation over his ascending. AS as have said only upon being no heir from great wife, only then council or royal house may sit down to decide who to pick from other wives. If the heir pass on, order of sequence will be his younger brother if any from his mother being great wife before looking in the houses of his father. It so disturbing on what zulu is going, people we are not honest we are busy blaming Cyril over this. Let every tell who is great wife among the wives, that will an ultimate answer.
