I going to put this here to help with the algorithm. The first 3 characters I make under the new 2024 rules will be human. It just seems so strong to me, the ability to get a heroic inspiration every long rest. This feature was really strong when it was just 3 kinds of d20 roll you could affect... now it's every roll... even made up on the spot ones or online only like d7 rolls... it's just soooo strong!

Wild magic sorcerer and swashbuckler rogue are my next personal build; you can give yourself advantage on a roll at the cost of a wild magic surge... And you have an absurd initiative modifier. Add like booming blade or any of the variations, and you can hit for a ton

Wouldn’t human be better to guarantee the re roll on the wild magic surge table? Heroic Inspiration lets you re roll any dice roll, including d100s. Just something in your back pocket incase you don’t like the result. Feels more controlled chaos than a halfling.

Exploding d8s only add about 0.6 damage on average per d8 originally rolled. It's not much, but it's fun. Fun fact, the lower the die value, the better it is for exploding. d2 averages ~3 (vs 1.5), double damage d4 averages ~3.33 (vs 2.5), 33% more damage d6 averages ~4.2 (vs 3.5), 20% more damage d8 averages ~5.14 (vs 4.5), 14% more damage d10 averages ~6.11 (vs 5.5), 11% more damage d12 averages ~7.09 (vs 6.5), 9% more damage That means exploding d8s are worse than a d10. It also means exploding 2d6 is significantly better than 1d12 (8.4 vs 6.5). The math for exploding dice is really simple too. Take the number of sides and divide it by the number of sides minus 1, then multiply it by the average. d6 is: 6/5 x 3.5 = 4.2

I'm just curious if this order of operations is legit Tides of chaos gaining advantage on initiative Cast leveled spell as action with roll on wild magic table resetting tides of chaos Quicken sorcerous burst with advantage activating wild magic table for next leveled spell I think this could be useful if you want to use a save spell

A d8 exploding up to 5 times is roughly 5.14 in average so less than a d10. Although the burst potential and fun factor are insane

This was the first build i made in 2024. Elvin accuracy and elemental adept really juice up chromatic orb. I also wondered if you have a concentration spell that adds d8 to attacks(spirit shroud) if that works with sorc burst or chromatic orb?

As a currently bladesinger wizard who uses a gun. Small reminder, spirit shroud, for the extra dmg to apply you must be witing 10 ft of the target. Its doable, you can get close enough to proc it and still dont get opportunity attacks, but still something to keep in mind for a mostly ranged build.

So you selected halfling... why not human? If you get a bad roll on the wild magic table, you can use your heroic inspiration to reroll it? Also you get enough advantage for tests through tides of chaos that being halfling and lucky may be overkill?

This is a great point! The Heroic inspiration working on any roll is something I must've overlooked, I thought it was only on d20 checks. Thanks for pointing this out!

You shouldn't need to use your tides of chaos for advantage on attacks, if you have innate sorcery. I guess I'd save it for saving throws and initiative

So what she says at the start makes her sounds more like a druid. Hmm how can we make a good druid/charisma gestalt or multiclass build. (I saw something about valor bards being good now) Hmm what synergies are there between valor bard and druid (probably just moondruid) that combine well? While bard get true strike we can't cast that it if we are in wildshape, but several others can be used and it pears well with CME or found of moonlight.
