My dad was an engineer, so naturally, he wanted a watch like the one that the Apollo astronauts wore. He splurged on a 1969 Omega Seamaster Deville. Now that he has passed, I wear it. Your oratory narration skills are matched by your attention to the details and finer points that paint the more interesting picture. To Watchfinder, very well done video or mini documentary. I was very impressed by the old footage and all the inside knowledge you unearthed about the space program in the early 1960's. All of the many discoveries and inventions that came from the NASA program would not have happened without the challenge from J F K to go fourth and achieve the mission. Again very well done. I'm not in a position to purchase the many fine time pieces you profile but I recently acquired a Bulova watch that was a copy of the one that went up in mission 15 in 1971. This video contains some inaccuracies. The narrator states that the Lunar lander had 25 seconds of fuel remaining when Neil Armstrong touched-down. It actually had approx 17 seconds of fuel remaining. The narrator also states that the on-board nav computer failed, again this is not true. It did give 1202 and 1201 alarms (five times I believe), to tell the crew and ground control that it was becoming overloaded and had to dump some less important tasks. The reason it became overloaded was that Buzz Aldrin had switched on the rendezvous radar, so they could more easily find the orbiting command module, should they have to abort the landing. Switching on the rendezvous radar during decent had never been practised in the simulators, apparently.

And why didn’t the suits look like the Michellin Man under the 4+ PSI pressure in the presence an almost perfect vacuum. An air mattress gets inflated to about half that pressure and it’s pretty rigid - you’d have no mobility.
