Ready to work those arms, back and shoulders? Let’s build muscle and grow even stronger! I think you will all enjoy this upper body dumbbell workout as I did!!
The timer will be on for 1 minute of work for most exercises, 30 seconds rest inbetween!
All you need for this upper body workout is your dumbbells, a mat and a chair!
There is a staple of decline push ups however if you prefer, you can absolutely perform traditional push ups with both feet on the floor!
The dumbbells I am using are 17.5kg and 8kg each.

There is something very motivating during this workout knowing the staple, every time it comes round, is bodyweight only and we get to drop those dumbbells! But it quickly becomes challenging!
Hopefully you see just how I try to stay as relaxed as possible… even when it comes to the lateral raises, I will take as long as I need pausing with dumbbells at my side before I perform the next rep! Quality over quantity!
I am pretty sure you will enjoy the pace of this workout being with longer sets and longer rest.
I hope you have a super session and appreciate the work those triceps accomplished at the end!

Dec 29, 2023. Day 12 done. Today I used 8, 12, and 15 lbs dumbbells ❤. I did 60 reps 🎉

I really enjoyed this tough upper body session! The staple got harder and harder with each round...especially after shoulders and dips...and the finisher was a brilliant tricep burner! I enjoyed doing cardio add on...quite a treat to do extra cardio on a Tuesday! It has been dark this morning but a beautiful full moon shining through the window of the room where I have been exercising and reflecting off the clouds! Quite poetic...made me think of a painting by Samuel Palmer! Enjoy your day everyone! Matthew

Morning Matthew. Bright and clear last night in York also. Not ventured to my gym as yet!! This workout looks like a super, challenging upper body strength workout 💪. Looking forward to getting going. Your comments about the staple have made me slightly nervous!! Still nursing my shoulder so might stick with regular pushups. Brilliant add on for you as well. The upper body has been my fave knowing that this is also my weak spot. I loooove that the finisher focuses on the triceps! They are the most problematic area for women! I have been loving the format this week, all a variety! It continuously challenges us, especially me who has been following Caroline's workout since Epic 1 debuted! And I thought it gets easier, we only get stronger! My depth has also improved and my flexibility! I can't thank you enough, Caroline, and this wonderful community !!!

Well said Peach. Everything you say about Caroline is true. We go from strength to strength. Definitely challenge here today. My upper body felt tired today for some reason and lower body is a tad sore from yesterday 🤔🤔what a burner from start to finish. Loved it all. Used from 15, 10, 7.5 and 6kg there. Loved the pushup. I managed the full min doing it. I have Def got so much stronger but upper body my weakest too. Glad you had fun. Have a great day😃

“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11…I had to modify for the push-ups…my tendons were still sore on my arms so I replaced the staple decline push-ups with chest cable crossovers…I had to do drop sets on the shoulders, too…I LOVE CAROLINE! These warmups and workouts are really fantastic for my body. I’m seeing such progress! I’m having to space them out more with days between of biking, walking, yoga and Pilates…so that I’m not sedentary…hallelujah!

Another amazing upper body workout 🔥💪 I spent years (decades!) using 2kgs for workouts, never even thinking to increase or incorporate 'proper lifting' into my schedule. Since starting the EPIC programmes I have (slowly and safely) so far increased to 8kgs. I love feeling stronger ❤️‍🔥 Thank you Caroline!

When I looked at the list of exercises I knew that this would exhaust my entire upper body - and it certainly did that! The shoulder part was a burner and the finisher was a super burner! Thank you Caroline! Have fun with this everyone and have a great Tuesday!

Never give Caroline's upper body sessions a miss! ✨💪🏻✨ Wow! That was awesome! Thank you! The staple was a great choice! I'm much stronger and able to do those decline push ups with proper form. Super finisher! Absolutely loved & enjoyed how the workout was planned! 👌🏻❤️ Wrapped up my training session with the recommended add-on and a 15 min full body stretch ... so much needed! 😁

Monika, your comment as always so lovely reflects the experience of each workout. I so much agree! What a blessing to be able to do all this sessions, with better form and awareness. I have become so much stronger and more consciouss about the correct form and because of that I can really experience a whole array of benefits. The finisher was amazing, my triceps were feeling it big time! After two minutes of dips finisher felt like the final goodbye😂 Well done for the add-on, I didn't feel doing additional cardio alongside my daily walks so I enjoyed 15 min back and core workout( you know I love it🙏) and a stretch. Have a lovely day and see you tomorrow, can't wait to give some love to glutes and hammies as well😉

You're a tough lady! 💪🏻🤩 When I started to train with Caroline I could hardly do 3 or 4 decline push ups ... can't believe that it became 'easier'! 😆 Today's finisher created balloon arms! 🎈🎈🎈My triceps was so swollen! 💪🏻😆👌🏻As for the add-on ... I hear you! No time to sip water but a great feeling at the end! 😁

Great choice of add-on! 😍👌🏻 I was thinking about this one too but then I thought that it would also be nice to do some cardio. 🥵😆 I totally get what you mean ... I'm so focused on good form and posture (so much more than at the beginning, when I started to train with Caroline) ... I try to get the most out of each rep ... which is great! 👌🏻 You're so right ... those dips already set my triceps on fire and those 100 skull crushers did finish my triceps so nicely! I found you with Epic III and from there you became my favorite trainer, unfortunately I can't go to the gym because I'm asthmatic and I'm afraid of covid but with you I feel like I don't need to go to one because my body is really changing and for the better. Day 12 done! ✅ The non-stop giant sets of rows were so hard! The last seconds almost felt impossible to row higher 😆😅 Loved the staple decline push ups cause I can really practice and stay focused on proper form and quality reps. The 100 rep finisher of skull crushers are intense! Used 15lbs and 4kg for it and I crushed it!!

I've taken your advice Caroline and I'm focussing more on my form instead of the number of reps.. I've realized that even if I can only manage five or ten reps I'm definitely feeling the burn and the results show... Me vs me.... 🤗🤗.

I found those one minute sets to be a good challenge as I am used to us doing sets of 40ish seconds! This stands out to me as being one of the tougher upper body sessions. Oh, and going from doing dips to decline push-ups was tough! Thanks Caroline.

Yes the pace was amazing. My arms are literally hot. I am so enjoying the new finisher reps format, it´s like a challenge within an already challenging workout. This is so good, I end up every session completely happy and ready for the day. I still have not fully recovered from the TITAN HIIT though, which is quite possibly the hardest HIIT since we started!

Morning all, what a brilliant session. Great variety, format etc with lots of fun to be had. Used from 15, 10, 7.5 & 6kg through the session. Arms a bit tired this morning but still enjoyed this session will so much. What a finisher they crushed me. Arms were shaking so much to the 100😱😱 Didn't do the cardio add on but did do 20 min abs. 🥵🥵 Enjoy all.

Like you I used different weights and was so happy to do chest press using 12,5s without extra breaks! We became so much stronger and can endure it all! 👊🏻🤩 The finisher was awesome & painful ... my arms were so swollen! 🎈🎈🎈💪🏻😁 Nice choice of add-on ... I decided to do the recommended workout. Awesome Day 11! Legs & glutes are so sore today. Looking forward to working on the Upperbody now. We've GOT this! 😆👊 Have a great workout! Oh Wow! Challenging and Loved it! At about 60% everything was trembling... shoulders, chest and arms. Enjoyed pushing through the finisher! Gave myself plenty of pep talk 😉. My fave was the 21s. Feels Amazing! Thanks Caroline! ❤️

Morning Trish...hope all is good for you! I loved this session...yes 21s are always fun aren’t they! I used to work with an instructor who instead of doing full reps in the third set dud partials just in the middle if the range! That was so hard! I loved the finisher too! Have a lovely day! Matthew

Oh WOW. Arms are SORE. Started with 15's then used 12's as the ligher weights my arms feel like pins and needles 😅💪 LOVED, we need these kinds of workouts that push the limits!

This workout looks like a super, challenging upper body strength workout 💪. Looking forward to getting started. Caroline definitely knows how to structure a fantastic session. The staple will have to be modified as I'm nursing a dodgy shoulder still so might stick with regular pushups and keep my weights lighter. Brilliant add on for a bit of cardio in the week. Time to rise and smile 😃👍👍👋

My calves are so sore from yesterday! Today was a much needed upper body workout! I also did half of the add on cardio before my body said no more! Thanks for helping me get into shape!

My arms/shoulders wanted to burst several times😆!! My muscles were burning and screaming throughout! Every muscle was exhausted by the end..then it was time for the finisher😂. I made it to about 35 unbroken before I had to start chipping away at the 100 in sets of 10 and 15. I made sure to focus on quality and not repping anything out. Finished barely able to straighten my arms..and my arms didn't want to hold me during those cool down stretches🤣. Very tough workout but I still enjoyed it as always. I really liked the layout..those long sets were challenging in a good way! My shoulders were dead by the time we got to the shoulders presses and Arnold's🥵! The staple was intense! That's one exercise we don't do too often. The last set of decline pushups was my best set👊🏻..I really pushed myself! Thanks Caroline for another great workout! I'm definitely going to be sore tomorrow..on top of all the lower body soreness I already have today😆. Oh my hammies and calves🤩. See you tomorrow!😁

Finisher sounds intimidating. Triceps are are real weakness I want to bring up this year but wow Caroline really knows how to strengthen us even when we are reluctant to give it a try ourselves 😳 Thank you! ❤️

Those minutes are looong minutes!!! My triceps were burnt out after the declines, dips then finisher, bit I never thought I would be able to do something like this before you made me do it Caroline!! ❤️❤️

I love 99% of Caroline’s workouts; I especially loved this one!! I struggled at points but I was pleasantly surprised when I did decline push-ups with good form each set! You are a Godsend, Caroline!!!

I’ve been following your workout programs for just under a year now and it’s insane how much I’ve achieved, when I first started I couldn’t do one press up and now I can easily do 20, I’ve even had to up my weights KG as my current ones are now too light. Thank you for making free straight forward workout programs, I’m becoming stronger and more confident everyday because of you! 😊

I judge the difficulty not by the weight but by Caroline's braids. When she has her hair in two braids, I am in trouble. Insane fast and furious workouts!

Can't wait to do this one later today. I love the 1 minute duration. I can slow down and yet still get in a good number of reps. And I'm happy to see the no rest/switch sides way of doing the rows. Great time saver!

What a tremendous upper body pump, for the second time around, I challenged myself as usual and went ahead and used 2x15kg for the Chest presses, 17kg dumbbell for the Single arm rows, Supine rows and pullovers. 2x9kg dumbbells for the shoulder and Arnold presses, and 2x7.5kg dumbbells for the rest including the finisher. Feeling pumped and great about my gains. 💪💪🙌

Those 100 rep finishers are my favourite thing!! Absolutely love to push myself to the limit at the end of the workout

Done! Used 17.5kg dumbbells for the chest presses, rows and pullovers, and 8kg dumbbells for the shoulder presses, lateral raises and curls - though I did drop to 6kg for the second triset of lateral raises. Used one 8kg dumbbell for the finisher, and although I was not far behind Caroline at the halfway point, by this time the fatigue had really set in and I slowed down; I still had 20 reps to go by the time Caroline finished.

That finisher! 😵‍💫😵‍💫….. I worked on my standard push ups and had to bring my legs in on the tricep dips . However, I still felt the burn and I’m glad I got through it. Thank you Caroline!! 💪❤️‍🔥

Oh my arms just went jello thinking of the finisher…coupled with the staple 🤣😂 but I honestly can’t wait loved EE Day 11 my legs were shaking and I have a feeling I need to wash my hair early 🙋🏼‍♀️😉 💪🏻

This was awesome 👌 I ❤ it. Used 20kg and 10kg DBs. Definitely feeling the strength gains 💪 Managed this with no pauses. Had to substitute dips for 2x DBs Skullcushers as my shoulder is a little tender and it just wont let me so these at the moment. Finishers was completed 60 20 20. The Upperbody pump is brilliant. So please to see declines as my upper chest needs to fill out a little and these seem to work a treat. Thanks Caroline for adding them in .😉
