I got raided by their bigger brother unit, The National Task force, based on a false tip / missunderstanding. I would rather shelter in place as mortars land than go through that again. They did not storm my apartment, they slipped in quietly at 4-5 AM and then woke me up with 3 people getting onto my bed and one slamming a ballistic shield into my midsection so i couldnt move and the others shining strobe lights into my eyes and laser sights, with their barrels inches from my face and another 8 or so members piling in shouting aiming strobe lights at me... I was on the floor and cuffed before i even knew if i was awake or dreaming,or that these were police or anything. So effective,i suppose, but unfortunate for me. Recieved an apology later that day and a drive home + a short debriefing from someone to evaluate my mental state after the trauma of it all. And thats my little side-story,sorry!

Tasked with tracking and eliminating enemy, likely russian, enemy SF units. More than 12 years of wrestling, muay thai, boxing, long range hiking in the swedish northern mountain ranges, swimming, hitting the gym.. 105kg/235+lbs yet they had me in under two seconds naked, cuffed,in absolute fear and under control on the floor. And i never heard the 10-15 operators even enter my home or bedroom or take up positions and assault me with strobes lasers ballistic shield and loud yelling despite all their gear and boots and what not.

@@CombatArmsChannel just happy they went in quiet rather than blow my door and trash my small apartment with a bunch of 9 bangers throwing everything to hell lol. Got my computer and stuff back too immediately as they realized even before my interrogation (took 3 hours in a cell before they had the detective ready to talk) and by then she knew they had the wrong person for the wrong reason, explained it and that i was not facing charges and would be recieving my personal affects shortly along with things confiscated for evidence of the now known to be non-existant crime, and then driven home and "debriefed". I have but one complaint. Someone made a misstake, filed a false charge. I asked to file a counter claim of filing a fasle charge and an officer denied to take that report. In sweden officers by law have to take any report wether they think its a crime or not, worth it or not, only a prosecutor then decides wether to initiate an investigation. So i never got to know how this all could happen and for 6 months sirens gave me panic attacks and i would block all entries to my home so i would hear sound if someone came, couldnt sleep..woke up sweating. I thought if it could happen once it can happen again and i dont even get to know why&how it happened or who initiated it.. I am just fine now though. :) Thanks!

Holy shit, that's insane! Worse than a nightmare. I've seen those guys up close twice and they don't come across as people you wanna mess around with. First time I saw them was on a lunch restaurant close to their training camp, second time they entered my neighbours ground level apartment through every window and door at the same time, since he was the prime suspect of a murder that got some media attention ("SVT-Kvinnan").

So, let´s get a few things clear. Some people here don´t know what they´re talking about, so I´m going to set the record straight: Up untill 2015, there used to be one national task force for counter terrorism duties based in Stockholm, and three regional SWAT teams in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö (the one in the video, and my home town). In 2015, the Police Authority became one single agency without county borders. Along with this came the new "nationellt insatskoncept" (NIK), in English; National Intervention Concept. The three regional units became "reinforced", meaning they do this full time, have bigger budgets and train more. Several other SWAT units were stood up around the country. The difference here is that they do regular policing first and act as an intervention unit when called upon. On a national level is the National Task Force (NI), which is the equivelant to the FBI HRT, the German GSG9, etc. They frequently train with the military SF-unit SOG in case any kind of terrorist or hostage crisis happens that is too big for the NI to handle on their own.

What you on the other hand stated, is that the original commenter is wrong whilst providing us with a statement, which although correct, has no relevance to the original comment. I'm retired, but: Just want to add one (1) thing. Swedish police have a university degree. Once, by my fault, I was stopped. As usual, they were friendly and made me admit, (good questioning technique) that I drove so fast that I should lose my driver's license. I admitted (no one except me and the kids in the car were in danger). The police looked me in the eye and made me understand my "stupidity". The police let me blow the alcohol test and let me go. How fast did I drive? Well, 110 kmh where it was 50! But, as the police said- "I do not judge you by your own statement (I admitted, told the cop). I must be able to prove. Slow down and have a good day, think of your children. I was ashamed.

The Police version of the AK5 was called CGA5P basically a AK5D with only single shots, the modifications made for the Police made it very unreliable. The AK5C-D is not unreliable. Also the "Piketen" is more of a SWAT unit and the Special unit is called NI ( Nationella Insatsstyrkan/ National Task Force ) though a lot of the police officers in "Piketen" are also within the NI. Regarding the Shotguns it varies, they used to have the same as in the military and we have both Mossberg and Remington / Remington 11-87/ Model 870 but also Beretta 686/ Mossberg 590 ( we used it in the Coastal Rangers for a short while ) in the late 80's we had Franchi SPAS-12 for testing and used it for a short while in a few units. Thought they would show the tactical vehicle as well. Nice video, seen it before but was nice to see again.

Only time I've seen one of these units for real is a couple of years ago when I went to a rock festival and there had been a suspected terror attack (drove a truck up a street with pedestrians in Stockholm) so they had extra protection, like sharp shooters near the entrance (up high) and a couple of heavily armed police along the road leading to the entrance area where you could drive up the road (they changed that layout somewhat the next year). Not sure if it was piketen or the national unit but for me it was the weapons, gear, clothing/armor and sunglasses (yes, I'm serious) that gave them away :p Anyway, having those two at the midpoint of that road made me feel very safe as nobody would be able to accelerate up that road without being dispatched quickly...

The AK5c is a good rifle. I don't know why it gets such a bad rep. I've used it in my 9 months of military training in the army and its main negative really is the weight. It sure is one of the heaviest weapons in its class - but therefore also very solidly built. I've had a couple stoppages with it during my time but that was mainly in the beginning when you're not familiar with it. Once you learn when and why you get a stoppage, you learn how to avoid that. Since then it's always been very reliable for me.

The reason they don't have the TRG 308 is because it costs a lot of money to keep it useable (ammo, range time, workhours spent on the range and so forth). In bit more than four years time, Piketen never even had to take it out of the box for anything but training. Not having to fire a single shoot, the brass could have lived with, but there was not a single incident where it was remotely considered useful enough to have a guy take the rifle into position just in case. Hence, it was considered a waste of money to keep it in the arsenal.

Hey dude! 🙂 Your channel is the first one I actually subscribed to so I’m always checking in your new releases. 👍 Would like to provide some additional information that I think you should be aware of though... the “Piketen” is a branch of the Swedish police that is pretty big, in the sense that there are plenty of those guys, all over the country. They’re *definitely* very competent dudes but they’re “Tier 2” ‘cause there’s actually a smaller Tier 1 division within the Swedish police called “Nationella Insatsstyrkan” (“NI”) which I’d translate to the “Police National Task Force”. Public information about those guys is, much like SOG, scarce but it’s safe to say that they’re the best of the best from the Swedish police. Unless I’m misinformed, which I don’t think I am, you *usually* don’t apply but rather handpicked and offered an opportunity to join if you’re proven worthy. If you want, you could look into those guys. One decent vid I found after a quick search is this one; kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqq8k5p4hcRjpJo Also, here are two URL’s depicting the respective uniform insignia worn by Piketen and NI respectively; tinyurl.com/Piketen-insignia tinyurl.com/NI-insignia Again, thanks for a good video. I’ll be coming back... / J 🇸🇪

The best Swedish police unit is the one that arrives in proper time when you require their help and they have the correct competence required to solve your troubles. Did some alcoholic a-hole crash your party and you're too afraid to get rid of him yourself? The normal officers are perfect. Are you being held hostage by an international gang of terrorists? Might want to send a text-message to the NI. " :-( halp, plz."

As previously mentioned, there is a national task force too. Nationella Insatsstyrkan, they respond nationwide to any serious matters that require a little more force than other police can provide. As for the AK5 being unreliable, well, if you didn’t clean it properly it’d have ejection issues with the casings. Other than that, very nice gun to shoot.

Forgot to tell why the swedish police have the equipment they have. The police has a board of politicians named "ethical board of the police authority" (or something like that in english). They decide what is ok as equipment and not. Usually its what look "ok" out of PR-perspective. Thats the reason Swedish police does not have water cannons or rubber bullets. Im just examplifying.

04:10 I agree, if there are equipment that better suit their needs.... but in the 4 year trial period they never used it once. Hence: they don't need it. The problem, I think (and I'm not a libtard, just a guy trying to look sober at stuff) is that when you have an arsenal of equipment that leans toward the more heavy duty stuff.... somebody one day might decide "hey, we have this big effing gun here that we never use... today I feel like using it"... also, criminals tend to up their armament as police up theirs... Having said that, I do think that a PROPER sniper rifle should be on the equipment list, but since they never use it, maybe all you need is a handful of people trained and authorized to use it. We don't need the arms race that "certain other countries" has experienced the last 40-45 years... Awesome video, as usual :)

CGA5P is first generation of AK5A and also first generation AK5D from my understanding with a screw to prevent fullauto unless wartime when it can be removed. So mayby something with the screw creating the problem they experience. And even the army had problem with AK5D first generation too, which was fixed in the next generation of the variant of AK5D that the army still use. About AK5C-D being phased out is long in the future, and not near. SInce FMV(Swedish Armed Forces Materiel Administration) is still looking for a new rifle also waiting to see what standard of ammo NATO is gonna choose to replace 556 with. Regarding banger as some already said he is just saying yellow in swenglish way, and yellow bangs 9 time and 1 banger in the old classic M84 stun grenade only one I dont know anything about is the 2 bang with blue color code. They have even phased out G36c for the Reinforced Regional Task Force (the new name for Piketen except for them based in Stockholm to distinguish them for The National Task Force which is the elite team of all Reinforced Regional Task Force and operate everywhere they are need.) to the LWRC M6 IC.

The thing about the sniper rifles. The factor here is how much they are needed and the training that needs to be had each year with this specialist weapon to make it an viable option. Training that can be used for the myriad of other tasks they normally preform. There are other units that have that kind of time to specialize in sniping. If there ever is a kind of situation where a long range shot have to be preformed, they will certainly be there.

The quality of army and police performance depends on the environment of the country. Active big dangerous places have better police since they practice what they train for in reality. Same goes for army . Sweden never been in war even tho they been in Afghanistan or africa but they aren’t combative. The police deals with punk gangs in sweden .and no worries about the body armor heat . Sweden is freezing cold😂

I'm sure they have good reasons to have the equipment they have. And I'm quite sure their snipers have the best equipment for the job. Bullshit try to say that "bureaucrats fault". I'm quite sure they also have exceptions. And the reasoning that they want to limit the amount of weapons to train will result in better training in the weapons they are training in.

Piketen is not very “elite”. At least not all of the piket police in Sweden. I mean they are really good but it can also mean in some cases that it’s just a bunch of cops tasked with piket duties and in a piket truck. They are like all our police officers very well trained by international standards. If your looking for more of the hostage rescue type tasks and spec-ops type cops I guess it’s the Nationella Insatsstyrkan that’d be the best bet. They’re pretty secretive though, and for good reason. So I guess it’d be hard to find videos of them. Nationella Insatsstyrkan also recruit soldiers and officers from the armed forces elite units and they’re of course not suited for regular police work. So I’d think that piketen is actually higher qualified when it comes to regular police work. Also I might be talking out of my ass here, I might have gotten this stuff wrong since my uniform’s always been green and never blue. *EDIT* Police specifically tasked with piket tasks would be elite and it’s probably pretty competitive in applying.

The swedish military AK5C is a great rifle. It´s very durable, very reliable. The reason they´re looking to replace is more and more is because of the ammo. The nato standard is 5.56 but can´t penetrate bodyarmor. At least not the ones we´re expected to face. Hence the many militaries have started to look into 7.62 which or some middle sized cartridge (6.8 or something like that) shot from a high velocity rifle. The AK5C is just fine in the military anyway, one of the most reliable systems imo.

Piketen is sort of mix between SWAT and general police. Sweden also has another branch called the "nationella insatsstyrkan" which can translated to "national special operations unit" or "national task unit" the equivalent to SWAT which is mainly based in Sweden´s major cities. PIketen also operates mainly in those areas but they are more general and visible than the "Nationella insatsstyrkan" which is called in during special events such as hostage taking, bank robberies or other situations where suspects are believed to be armed or very dangerous.

Yeah, Swedes often mix up the pronunciation of J and Y - they can end up saying things like "when I was jung I lived in the yungle". He's just saying they're marked in yellow. Interestingly, that very van featured in the video was later sold off, and now belongs to a friend of mine. We use it (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKKYgKKYqqerfas) when we're hired to play cops on TV - and it's pretty comfortable, though the front doors aren't large enough for me to get out of in any sort of hurry when I've got the kit on. :-p The video is pretty old now; since then Piketen changed their name to "Förstärkta Regionala Insatsstyrkan" (and then back again), they've gone to a couple of different versions of grey BA (and possibly back again), and the G36C has largely been phased out (mostly, I'm told, bumped downhill to patrol) in favour of the LWRC M6 carbine.
