As a USD fan I cannot agree more! Aeons give me so much comfort, and they perform so well! Carbons are fine for me after heat molding, but carbon frees, they give me lots of pain. So glad to see your wife understands your need and get exactly what makes you skate comfortably :D

Going to get back into skating, haven't put on a pair in about 15 years at the time I had a pair of Razors Impacts I think. So I'm looking to see what's best for my budget and level getting back into it, and these were suggested to me.

I went through the same exact thing with this skate. I skated carbon frees for a while, but ultimately had crazy ankle pain after a while. On a whim, I bought the Aeon 61's and they are just so comfortable. The power transfer is real. Skating flat is awesome.

Mmmm, your experience with the carbons is about the same I have going with mine... Trying to reshape the boot a little just to see if that works, but I might just ditch them all together. The Aeons seen to work a treat for you. Style also seems to become more fluent in these, Josh! Once again thanks for sharing insights. Keep the blade alive! #slacktoblading

Decent street clips man. Wtf is up with your street spots, some of them are amazing, I've never seen coping street ledges until your videos and now I see you have 2 different ones!? Really enjoying your channel! I have a 25cm foot and actually ended up getting the 6-7 Aeons too. For me, they were way to snug with the stock liner. Probably could’ve made it work with a slim liner, but didn’t want to risk it. I think I have a med-high arch and the bone in my foot next to my little toe sticks out some. I ended up sending them back and got the 7.5-8 (US 8-9) and it was so much better. Might eventually swap out the liner, but the stock one will do for now. Keep up the cool videos!

@Acosta Blades nice vid, thx for the infos. but one question....normally i have a 41-42 (US 7,5 - 8 / UK 6,5 - 7), but in skates i often wear a US 9 - 10 / UK 8 - 9, especially in my Razors Genesys 7 with standard Razors Liner. My foot is measured 25,5 cm long. Wich size should i take for the Aeon 60? Should i ordered the size US 7,5 - 8 or US 9 - 10 ? what do you think? greets from germany. keep it up man *thumbs up*

AWESOME video! My next pair of skates will be the Aeons; I have zero doubt about that! Can you explain to me how you fit a size 8 liner in a size 7 shell? Wouldn’t the liner be bigger than the shell?? If I’m a 10.5 with a more narrow foot, would you recommend a 10.5 liner with a 9-10 shell?
@Danielson1818
@Danielson1818 5 жыл бұрын
People do it all the time, and just call it downsizing. I don't do it because I have wide feet, but I'll explain the best I can. Many people like the tightest fit possible for more control. So they buy a shell one size down, but keep the liner in their normal size. It really works fine without bunching up the liner, but only if you keep it to within 1 size difference. Anything more than 1 size wouldn't work.... So, your 10.5 liner would probably work in a 9-10 shell, but it does depend on the specific boot. Just don't grind or scuff the new skate until you know it's the right fit, because I've lost $300 from doing that.

Really great video and flow! Really thinking of getting either to AEON 60 or the 80s... I've always been an urban skater, mixing downhills and zig-zagging through traffic, but for someone that would like to get into grinding, do you think the bigger 80 AEONs would restrict the learning curve or not? The 60s definitely are for the grinder purist, which I'm far from being. Thank you for your answer!

Thanks for this review and basically all your videos. Helped me get into aggressive skating - and I will never stop. Short story: I got the Aeon 60's. Had some problems. The store gave me a pair of USD VII Pro Roman Abrate edition which feel amazing on the foot. But they weigh so much! 400g difference per skate! Will this hold me back you think? Long story: I agree mostly with the benefits of the USD Aeon 60's... but... I had a lot of trouble with the "comfort". They sit tight as hell. The length was fine, and also the width. The issue was the tightness from top. Got better with time, but I still loose feeling in basically half my foot. Another Issue I had with these were that I got axial play on the bearings or wheels. Dont know exactly yet. I think it is the frame that was not "spacered" enough with the metal insertions used. I contacted Skatepro which sent me a new set of bearings. Same issue. They sent me the 20 year edition USD 61mm wheels - same issue again. Finally they asked me to send them back and gave me a deal on the slightly older USD VII Abrate Pro skates. These look amazing. The MyFit lines is amazing. And general feeling is really good (haven't skated them yet though). The bad thing that makes me almost want to send these back as well is the weight. They weigh almost 400g more per skate compared to the Aeon 60's. So to my question - do you think the weight will matter in the longrun? Will I be holding myself back? Should I just let these USD VII's go despite the deal I got or do you think the benefits of these overweight those of the Aeons?

@@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 hey! They gave me a good deal keeping both skates so I did. Took the liners out from the VII and put it in the Aeons. Amazing combo. Crazy... I just got the 72's size 7-7.5 and they're too tight. Which, has a size 7 shell with a 7-7.5 liner. My father and I had the same thought as you, maybe a one size up liner will do the job. My foot size is exactly 25cm, as well. I may have to pull the trigger and size up on the liner.

I bought some USD Aeon 72 mm skates and the cuff screws on the inside really dig into my inner ankles for both feet. I made them as tight as I could, so the curved metal cuff part where the screw goes in, doesn't stick out as much but it didn't really help. I keep getting a metal rectangle mark on my inner ankles after skating them which is sad bc I really like these skates. Any advice how to fix this?
@acostablades8138
@acostablades8138 4 жыл бұрын
Thats a Bummer, Are you skating on heel pads? sometimes if you add or remove these. It changes where the ankle placement is... But it also changes the balance point in how you ride. Try maybe contacting Powerslide and see what they say? They may send you out some different receivers for the cuff bolts. I've noticed they've changed the design of those over the years. Always could try double socks too. That sometimes works as well. Best of Luck!
