I also use an iPhone 7. I went back from an iPhone 13 because I prefer Touch ID. However, I noticed that some apps now require iOS 16, such as Uber Driver or Airbnb. Still, over 90% of apps are compatible with iOS 15, even new ones, but some are slowly starting to require newer iOS versions.

Otherwise, you have to enter the PIN frequently. In certain situations, this is very difficult, because, for example, when riding a bike, it's much easier to authenticate with a thumbprint using Touch ID. Technically, it's simply much faster to press your thumb than to hold the phone in front of your face. Simply put, Face ID assumes that user likes to grab the phone, use it, and has no problem with such authentication. But there are situations, like during sports, where classic Touch ID is simply better and faster. And at the moment, the only options are to use older iPhones or to buy the iPhone SE 2022.

I can't believe that the iPhone 7 was released all the way back in 2016! It feels like it was released much later than that. Sadly, I never got to use such devices as I was much too young to have a flagship phone, but I remember all the hype around them, especially with the iPhone 7 Plus being rumored to have a second camera.

I know. I used my 6S recently and it’s still okay on Verizon. There were some “no signal” moments, but it was basically okay.

I personally think they shouldn't remove the 4g towers because I loved to be able to use it as a back up incase I didn't get any signal with 5G. I know outside the US they still use 3G

In my country 4g is the standard and everyone use it but we don’t have a great 5g coverage and we just have one provider that has good 5g and a better coverage

I am currently typing this comment on my iPhone 7 Plus. Had this phone for the last eight years. It’s now starting to show signs of degradation. Did one battery and screen change since I’ve had it. Will upgrade to the 15 Pro and probably use the old 7 Plus as an iPod in my car.

Used one last year, worked for a couple of months, had a new battery tho. You do get tired of that small and dark screen tho, and the battery could be double and still too small. But its doable in a pinch like i was in, had no money and broke my older phone so i had to get a cheap one. Now the wifi range was amazing, better than most new phones, never lost connection.

My wife had never had a smartphone when I bought her an iPhone 7 three years ago. She loves that thing. As a minimal sort of user (90% texting), it does all it needs to. It's on 15.8 and she had the battery replaced a few months ago at the Apple Store. Funny thing is they damaged the screen/haptic button during their process, and replaced it with a new one. So practically a brand new phone at no extra cost.

I had one of these from 2017-2019 when I was in middle school, I remember it being decent although Touch ID wasn’t very reliable and the battery life was atrocious, for the whole time I had it so it just got worse and worse over that time, and I got the phone new too so it just didn’t have good battery life compared to the iPhones I’ve had since.

It is my first phone ever and I say it is it’s because I’m still using it to this day and I have it for 7 years. It on iOS 15 and do everything with it not just simple stuff. But it’s not good for games with high spec reqs but it can run basic ones and another thing is that there are still many apps (every day apps that People use )that is still supported.

the latest version of iOS 15 was released in march this year, 2024. I checked and Snapchat requires iOS 12.4, which means you can still use it on a 5S.

Did you even use the iPhone? I tried out my 6S recently and everything still works. The apps are still getting updates. I use it on Verizon and yeah, the 4G LTE is still up and running. Before deleting Snapchat and my account with it, it was still okay to use.

I still use my 7 plus and recently i just replace it battery and i wouldn’t say that it still running great cuz it not, i have many problems with it overheating, performance drop and battery health but hey it has survived many drops and being submerged in water many times so i can’t complain too much

Agree on most of the points of this video but I definitely got to defend iOS10 control center. It is the only usable CC in the entire iOS hostory. Why? Because you can just launch it with one hand easily unlike current CC putting everything at top and to a point I would just open settings app instead of taking the risk to drop my phone. There's jailbreak tweak that allows you to trigger different things by left/center/right center bar, Apple should just copy it and save tons of screen cracked iPhones.

I don't know if it was the phone problem, but I needed to upgrade from iPhone 7 because it began becoming faulty, like randomly draining of battery (battery health was at 94%), to unable to initiate calls, from both direct and WhatsApp. I needed to primarily use my Mac for well, everything, before upgrading to an iPhone 13 mini. I don't understand how people manage to use it. My iPhone 7 was the worst.
