Love my daily’s. Total game changer for me. To feel like you’ve regained one of your senses is amazing. Skiing, mountain biking, going out, confidence, etc all so much better.

As someone who has been wearing contacts for almost 3 decades now. The early generations contacts were very very bad. Had red eyes all the time. You could not even get them out with your fingers, if there was sand or other irritant behind them. Needed a special vacuum pump. I slowly learned that the oxygen permeability of contacts is super important. This guy didn't even talk about it in this clip. I tryed like all brands. The best in my opinion is Biofinity, also very affordable. Very high oxygen permeability, 160 Dk/t.

He did talk about oxygen though...

Biofinity is the best monthly CL brand I agree 💯because of the higher DK. But daily disposable contact lenses are the most recommended. Using daily disposables reduce chances of getting infections

I knew contacts weren’t for me when I tried them out in elementary school. Gave it a try a few more times, and decided taking glasses on and off is about a million times more comfortable.

my approach is glasses for a daily basis, contacts for special occasions where i am more pampered so to speak

I use daily contacts. They help a ton with my eye allergies during the summer. I used to need $100 per oz prescription drops during the summer for eye allergies. Daily contacts got rid of that need. So for me, contacts have been a benefit over glasses. But, as I age, I’m considering a “hybrid” approach with glasses during certain times and contacts during others. I never wear contacts to bed either.
@JWLSports7 ай бұрын
Can you please explain what you mean by eye allergies? And how the contacts help?
@chrisosborn71427 ай бұрын
@@JWLSports in my case, tree pollen during May/June was causing my eyes to itch when I was wearing glasses. When I switched to daily contacts, they act as little shields to the pollen, so the bulk of pollen contacts the contact and not my eye. I then throw away the contact with the pollen on it and my eye is left relatively clean from the pollen when I sleep. It mainly helped because I spend a fair amount of time outdoors.

I'm almost 34 and have been wearing the Air Optix Night and Day (30 days/nights of continual wear) for about 9 years now. I still tolerate them the same, I never really take them out unless it's time for a new pair and I've never had any infections or worsening dry eye. 🤷🏻♀️

Find a specialist that fits eyes with your condition in your area, like the scleral lenses he mentioned.

I have also have this condition. It’s more severe in the left eye, but vision can be sufficiently corrected with glasses, don’t wear lenses as couldn’t get on with them. Collagen cross linking procedure will stop the condition from deteriorating. There’s also topography guided Laser.

@anitahernandez1207 Жыл бұрын
I don’t like my new contact lens prescription. They are the breathable disposable lenses but I hardly wear them and never sleep with them. I see better with my old glasses 👓. So, I need to find an optometrist like Dr. Goldberg. Or the issue may be that I had a recent wrist fracture, and there may be an issue with the nerves. Waiting for approval for an MRI. At least I know that my eye health is good because the optometrist showed me the picture of my inner eye and it was clear. So it must be something else, maybe related to my wrist injury. Interesting how the eyes are connected to nerves.

What a wrong premise of the discussion. As a person whom wesrs contacts for decades, the new CL are simply amazing... 99% of the time you cant even tell, and i wear them night-day (sleeping) for a month, and take out maybe biweekly. Also the comparison of glass/lense against eye is same as saying you should use smoke signals your host your podcast
