We're not number one because of marching and snap pop shit like that. We almost never do that after boot camp. We're number one because the Corps installs a warrior spirit and the institutional knowledge of an organization that has almost never lost a gunfight, and the few times we have, it was against overwhelming odds and we still made the enemy pay dearly. Recruits march. Marines fight.

Heel drive, we were instructed by our DIs to make the heel drive as loud as possible
@bjornegan6421 Жыл бұрын
my speculation is constant exaggerated stomping conditions the lower legs and prepares for rucking and running with weight. that's why the light duty recruits wearing running shoes in the back aren't doing it, they're on light duty. when the recruits do the later drill inspections and the graduation ceremony, and then any actual drill after that, they use normal leg lift. another purpose, perhaps not intentional, is the platoon sounds like it's marching when they stomp around. the real reason might be as simple as someone thought it was a good idea to get a spectrum of dudes to figure out how to walk smoothly, making them march like weirdos for a while helps smooth them out.
