Love your series overall! UX 1 and 2 are really good, but this one is a little confusing. However, this part of the process often can be a bit confusing in general :) (I ran into similar confusion while doing work in BA / product roles). Key question: how does this feature matrix relate to the user story that was done in UX2? Doesn't it make more sense to just go from that user story and identify the key screens along with main features based on that flow / story? Seems like there is a bit of a disconnect with the two. Also, which video has the business goals - I think you mentioned UX2, but it just briefly touches on that and also has business goals not really related to the digital product - did I miss smth?

Before even coming up with feature sets or tactics it's important to understand current user behaviors to understand what tools they currently use to complete certain tasks. Otherwise, recommending a Facebook ad or other tactics may completely miss the mark. You can get these insights from doing contextual inquiry, user interviews or many other user research techniques. Also I hope your other videos on feature prioritize toon include development estimation, because if your client is on a budget, the dev estimate is critical in prioritization.

Ive just been watching through this series and this section really confused me. It seems as if you are tackling it from completely the wrong direction. Rather than understanding what the business offers and working out how to market that to the users through the site you seem to instead be brainstorming features that you think the business should offer. Youve even said they are a fairly small mom&pop type business resort yet you are talking about all these features like customisable service and concierge service etc. This just isnt feasible for the business...

I've been waiting for this since I bought Core! I'm still unsure how the Efficiency part leads to the feature function, especially relating to the front end web experience. Hope you'll cover that in the next one. thanks!
@thefutur9 жыл бұрын
+Ferdaus Amzah The efficiency exercise is designed to surface anything that can be systematized (guest login and profiles, email notifications, tools to engage on social media, etc...) are directly related to features and functions that can be built into the site.

Still fairly relevant. You might code instead of wireframe and you might make the early parts faster to test and validate but still valid. Things are just faster now.

Do experienced designers go through this entire process in as much detail as beginners would or do steps get rushed over the more experienced the designer or team is? In other words, is this process here more or less what you would expect when working for a design agency?

Zoe Cunningham experienced designers do this (you are looking at two of them). Inexperienced designers just guess a lot.

Hey guys, is it possible for you to make a video just about catchy taglines or other similar implementation for websites?
@thefutur9 жыл бұрын
+Eshwaren Manoharen You are talking about copy writing correct? I think we can get someone who is a good writer to help out with that.
@masalahberat9 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly! I coordinate a network of freelancers in Malaysia, which means when doing copy writing we have to be aware that our primary language is English, but not our native one. In trying to be witty, we have to be careful so that clients and users actually understand where you are going with it. This part of our workflow remains very subjective and we are now looking for a way to break it down into a process. Thank you so much guys! Our business is real life example of complete KZbin graduates. :D

Eshwaren Manoharen As a middle step, we can show you how we write copy using CORE. Maybe that will fill in the gap for you.

Great Video again. What happens if you sell a UX Design + Website, then during the process (goals definition), you realise that there is more services you can provide and/or, more features on the future website that you initially thought about? Would you increase the price of the invoice half-way to the process?
@thefutur8 жыл бұрын
+Florian Philippe That's a good result if that's happening. I typically only quote ballpark figures until after we complete discovery for which we charge money to do (20-50k). After which, we know what needs to be built, at what scale and why we need even need it in the first place. Hope that helps Florian.
@FlorianPhilippe8 жыл бұрын
+The Skool Network Thanks for the answer. As I'm starting this process, I was thinking to integrate your strategy into selling websites as this is what I'm used to do. This way I'm sure I will be able to get better projects and better clients. But I don't think I'm able to sell the discovery as alone for now. Hopefully soon enough. Thanks again for sharing this with us. It really inspired me to do a better work and motivated me when I really needed it

+The Skool Network ah thanks. Would you recommend sticking with personas, user stories and journey mapping? with so many methods and tools how many is to many?
@thefutur8 жыл бұрын
Emmanuel Mendez all of them are important. If you really want to do UX this is critical.
@wmikhailw8 жыл бұрын
Are the headlines in any of the videos as well? Love your other videos, but this one seems a bit confusing and also not sure how it relates to user story in UX2.
@profiAcc5 жыл бұрын
this is all based on solutions based on User profile's (personas) needs. Ok, but you ASSUME these are his needs, you make personas from your ASSUMPTIONS and base all of your solutions and features on that. Can someone please explain to me how can this actually work?

are you just making these user profiles up off the top of your head or do you get your client, to come up with 3 user profiles - I understand the concept of user profiles but the fact is it completely made up data so surely it's a flawed system? [This is a question] you guys are great

Hey guys, I just discovered the gold you're sharing, you're doing a great job and I look fw to digesting the rest. But for now, in this video, at kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZqofHWwj8l8Y8U, Jose mentions a (couple of) video(s) related to goals creation and I couldn't figure where they are (if they have been published). Could you advise or share that resource? Since it would account, I think for the 3 prefilled lists that are used as a base. Thank you!
