For anyone wondering more about her a few important things were missed or given slightly incorrect info. Her stealth abilities all have a secondary affect, Q is armor shred, W always has the blind component, and E has a bleed. At level 1 you will not have enough energy for a full combo, take the 2 point eviscerate and just leave. her out of stealth q is the majority of her damage and has a massive cooldown reduction if it hits an enemy hero. If you are valeera and miss this, you typically want to disengage. if you are playing against her, juke up or down (not directly away from), if you see her miss the dash stay and fight her, her damage is gone. In QM you may well have to solo lane on her, but she will win nearly every matchup easily. Only a few bruisers, Sonya, Rexar, Ragnaros will really give you an issue. This is due to their mixed damage types and sustain. The block talent at level 1 provides a TON of tankyness in this situation. Another tip if you are getting knocked out of stealth is to just engage without it. Just run up to your target, mounted is a plus and stealth right in front of them. You have half a second of unrevealable to open with a stun or silence, whichever is best for the situation.

I like the characters that feel like you're playing a different game than everyone else. Murky is playing a roguelike or souls game. Abathur and TLV play an RTS. Samuro plays Three Card Monte and Valeera is playing the Spy from Team Fortress 2. I like Valeera best out of all the stealthies because I like preventing damage more than dealing it. I tend to play more tanks and supports than assassins, and I would rather keep my team safe and let them do damage as well as keeping the enemy still to help them out. Valeera does that better than any of the other stealthies. Yeah, it's annoying to play against, but chances are if I've targeted you you're probably the most annoying opponent for my team so I figure it balances out.

I think you've gotta look at Valeera in a different way than Nova or Zeratul. In World of Warcraft rogues are always viable due to the incredible control they bring to PvP even in those patches in which their burst damage is quite low (I know, most of the time their burst damage is high but there have been patches in which the burst was way weaker than the burst of other classes and rogues still have been viable because of their control). Valeera kinda fullfills the same role. It's not solely about her damage but rather about the control she brings to her team. On demand point and click stuns and silences on a rather short CD can, in theory, turn a battle around quite quick if used properly. Also her potential skyrockets in pre-made groups because you can basically call out on which target you're gonna open on and your team can pro-act to that instead of having to react like in pugs. That being said - other stealth characters might be more viable than her in HotS but I think she just needs to be seen as a supportive assassin rather than a pure burst assassin.

Nice to see one of those relaxing little qms where you just get to run around and poke. I feel like when I play a stealth character in a team game most of the meta drops away and I'm just kind of doing my thing, and hoping the game goes well for my side by virtue of how much hp (or ideally how many dudes) my enemy team loses to my shenanigans.

Valeera feels sooooo good to play. Her build diversity is "low" but there are a number of talent tiers that can really change her gameplay. I.E. level 1, 13, and 16. She can fill a number of roles on the team. I've played frontline tank Valeera, assassin Valeera, map pressure Valeera with e build, and a general disabler for characters like butch, zul-jhin, or my favorite, zagara. Valeera is so good in the solo lane and I love it

Stun is much worse than silence. Silence you still get to play. You can retreat or reposition. You can still attack. During fights your abilities are typically on cd or will be rapidly anyway so being silenced is no different than having your abilities on cd. I do agree her silence is a bit too long though.

Back when I used to play, I preferred ranged champions such as Zul'jin and Hanzo, as well as mages such as Kael'thas and Nazeebo (I played him as pure siege engine of mass-destruction - I took out keeps around the 8 minute mark if I was left uncontested). I only played Valeera like maybe a grand total of 10 times (and I knew I sucked with her).... but even then, I had like an 80% win rate with her - which is abolutely ridiculous, and is a testament of how busted she is currently.

I hate Valeera. I love that you didn't use the silence. One of the most frustrating things in this game is spotting the shimmer as soon as she comes into view, but because of that teleport range you get silenced before you have a chance to react. And then she just takes away 75% of your hp when you can't do anything but walk... Your Valeera seems much more fun though! Great showcase!

Valeera may be frustrating to play against but also she is the most punished of all stealthies, if taken out of stealth before she can use her opener she is basically useless for 8 secs and if You match against Lunara or Malthael Your game is living nightmare. I think she is much mure difficult than people think.

man oh man we're coming down to the end of the series and likely the end of him playing this game on the channel anymore. I recently started playing again with some friends just to feel some nostalgia but that quickly went out the door after experiencing the same frustrations every game and seeing how far the playerbase has fallen in terms of both quality and skill. I'm glad it happened, but i'm also glad it's coming to an end. It's like when you made your last Ds1 playthrough. I was there for the first one and there for the last, but i'm hoping with this series coming to an end we'll see much more variety of games as you've been doing

I'm 66-12-1 now following your builds. This was weird because my first three games I didn't play the build because all my opponent's damage was in casters so I couldn't in good conscience go with stuns and blinds. I had to be the silencer valeera in those matches. Once I got to play this build it was great. This is a hero I've always wanted to main because I hate going against her but never really did well with her.

I always play the silence, eviserate build on Valeera. It’s so good and you can zone out healers. Me and my buddy play valeera and butcher combo in qm. Yeah I know I’m going to hell lol 😂

I think we would all like this. But the game desperately needs the love it once had to make it plausible. I quit a couple years back and the nostalgia has a pull but really unless it's actively being updated and balanced and new stuff added I would never go back because I know most of the same frustrations will be there

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about the Microsoft purchase changing things for Heroes. That'll only bear any fruit if investors can be convinced it would be worth the effort and expense. Same goes for SC2 and Reforged, which I've seen some people get really excited about. We still have to wait a while before the purchase even goes through, and it'll be a while after that before any meaningful change takes place.

@@littletyke76 As long as the revival doesn't try to force a competitive scene like they did before, I'd be for it. They put in so many resources trying to force a scene to happen instead of letting it happen naturally that I'm convinced that's a major reason why it 'failed', because the marketing (and let's be honest, the pro scene was just marketing) took so many resources that could've either be spent somewhere else on the game to be better or just not wasted.

@@leadpaintchips9461 I think it is a tough one. Games generally aren't made for the love of making a great game anymore. (except some indie games) They are made to make money. I don't think the current model they have would make money and I doubt I would play it if they added any aggressive form of trying to get money out of players. I just don't think this style of game brings in enough money to warrant anyone doing anything with it sadly. I think the pro scene was helpful in some respect because it helps reach wider audiences and gave young players something to aspire too to actually get better at the game. I dno, I doubt I will ever figure out what the answer is for games any more. I adore competitive games but they either end up being massive cash grabs or get left to rot because they don't make enough money. I pretty much just stick to single player story games these days which is enjoyable but obviously doesn't fulfill my competitive itch. Oof I get so jaded about this, I loved this game so much and it was just a damn shame for it to be treated in such a way.

@@littletyke76 Blizzard wanted to have the next LoL, forgetting the early years where LoL made enough money instead of _all_ the money. They tried to force so much by consolidating the pro scene under their control from the get go, and priced as though people would always throw money at them (and then shifted to loot boxes around the time that people were getting sick of them). A lot of companies want their games to be the money makers that LoL, FF 14, and other pillars of money making in video games are. They forget that the journey to get to that point was basically farming goodwill from the playerbase, which means *not* going for predatory practices out of the gate, and not even for years afterwards while also making a fun game (or at least showing blatantly that a fun game is the goal).

Valeera is such a pain to play against but all I play is Samuro and I can only see and follow them most of the time because I can't knock them out of it till lvl 10 that is so annoying other stealth chars know I can't do anything in less I am lvl 10 let me swing me sword whenever I want like in Diablo.
