Very usefull video. I was able to pull out the radiator without removing the A/C condenser and I didn't have to evacuate the lines. There is a bolt on the side of the A/C line (10mm) that you can remove and it detaches from the radiator. Just a little wiggle room and the radiator comes right out. Saved me a LOT of time and money. Great Video otherwise!! Mine is a 2017 Journey SXT 3.6L

Прочитав ваш коментар, знайшов того болта і зняв радіатор охолодження, не знімаючи радіатор кондиціонера, правда знімав радіатор охолодження АКПП

Holy crap. Game changer. What about the bottom radiator hose? Did you fold that up like he did in the video or did you have to remove it completely?
@WATCHMEGOBROKE3 ай бұрын
@@danielmoskowitz3060 dude removing the bottom radiator hose from the radiator was the hardest part..you have to loosen up the radiator and the condenser completely..then you can remove the bottom hose..I just did this job..no need to drain the AC. Took me a out an hour to put it back on too cause those damn clamps they use and it's a super tight space .but it can be done with patience
@danrob330328 күн бұрын
You don’t need to disconnect the ac lines.. unmount the block with the lines and there’s another 10mm bolt on the other side giving enough clearance to pull the radiator

Thanks for your comment! I recently did a Caravan without removing the AC lines. If I get the chance to do another Journey I'll refilm it 👍

You don’t have to take off the bumper but it is best if you do. Reason is, because the radiator has a drain plug at the bottom right. (Driver side).

I’m not a mechanic and I did this on my wife’s car. I did not remove the bumper nor did I evacuate the ac, I feel like that so much more work. I had done this work a few years back, and I remember it being a fairly simple and easy task. Yeah a few bolts in awkward places, but with the right tools it was straightforward
@ValleyMobileAutomotive4 ай бұрын
@@macanina100 Yeah the manual has you do it this way but I've learned a few tricks since then. You can get away without unbolting the AC condenser 👍

My dodge journey over heated I replace the thermostat but still it overheating bottle start bowling what could be the problem. It's stead parked for 1 1/2 year could it be radiator
@ValleyMobileAutomotive3 ай бұрын
@@jamesbond-oq1xs It could be the radiator. If you have an infrared thermometer you can check for cold spots on the radiator. That would tell you if it's partially blocked. Also make sure the cooling fans are coming on. And you can disconnect one of the heater core hoses to make sure the water pump is pushing coolant through.

Where did you get the radiator from ? Im trying to get a cheap one but im also sketchy about it
@ValleyMobileAutomotive Жыл бұрын
I like dealing with the local parts store. A lot of times you get a good warranty and if something goes wrong you can easily return it.

@@ValleyMobileAutomotive yeah i get everything from local parts stores but some reason the radiator is expensive there , i might just get it from there because its literally across the street and i have discounts with them
@ValleyMobileAutomotive Жыл бұрын
@@xantana003 another place I get parts from is rockauto.com. They are pretty good with warranty and returns but you have to pay shipping on the return. But the price savings might be worth it.

My wife is looking at a 2017 journey, and the seller informed her that he had taken it to a shop and they told him it needed the radiator replaced, I'm just wondering as I have no experience with this engine/drive train specifically, is this a common issue?
@panthers559 Жыл бұрын
it tends to be, i own the same year as yours 2017 3.6 , dodge uses some shitty antifreeze/coolant from the factory so its very common for leaks from either the radiator, water pump or thermostat, as well as clogged heater cores , where you'll only get heat from the driver side its a pain in the ass LOL
