Valor Fitness BD-62 Honest Review

This is an honest review of the Valor Fitness BD-62 Functional Trainer Pulley System. I LOVE it, however, there's some pros and cons worth mentioning. Definitely watch this before purchasing. I hope this helped you out.

Great review; you really showed all the points I was curious about. I really wish someone would make the middle ground between this and the Tonal machine. I don't want to spend $4k then have to pay $50 per month to use is, because I don't care about video classes, but the BD-62 uses dumbbell weights and it is so less versatile than the Tonal.

I recently ordered a similar machine from Titan Fitness, waiting for it to arrive. One review said that the sleeves are not necessary as the weight move straight up and down. As long as you have smooth movement on the way down and do not slam them down they will not move and will simply sit on the bar. So I plan to try that before ordering sleeves especially since I have limited olympic plates and will use both olympic and standard together.

Thank you for stopping by! Im positive you could write to Valor Fitness and get an exact measurement. I actually decided to upgrade and just got a functional trainer because I had a whole bunch of room in the garage open up. Adding a weight stack is a freakn GREAT idea.

Nice video! Very easy to watch, great examples, and content. I noticed from one of your other videos, you had a rack that included the pully system. What was your reasoning for buying a stand-alone pully machine?

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my video! I appreciate the comments! That’s a great question. The reason I bought this adjustable pulley system is because it was height adjustable. So even though the rack that you see in the background has a pulley system, the pulley system only works from the bottom and from the top so there’s no adjustment in between for height. So that really limits what types of exercises I would use it for. With this particular adjustable height pulley system and it really is all up to your imagination with what you want to use it for. It’s so flexible.

Man thank you so much for watching. Honestly, there’s so many cheaper options for us to build our epic home gym is now, it’s really up for debate how much is it worth it to you. You can spend a fortune but if you have a family, you’re saving time by training on your lunch break if you train on your lunch break. (This is my situation). I highly recommend it if you’re trying to train from home and get time back. It’s soooooo convenient having a home gym.

Man that’s GrEAT!!! And TBH it’s really the best reason to invest in a home gym because you really get so much time back this way. Some people really feel like they get the push they need from going to a big gym but there’s just something extra great about getting what you need to get done at home and still have all the time in the world to give to these early years. We will never get this time back. It’s absolutely worth it 10,000%.

This BD-62 totally worked great the entire time. I just wanted more out of it, so I went ahead and went all out on the functional trainer.

Hey thanks for stopping by. And yes, it totally needs that support at the top and at the bottom. From a leverage perspective, there’s just no getting around it because the overall equipment of the machine is so light. Totally a light weight movement centric piece of equipment.

Hey Vincent! Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my video. I first assembled it and installed it against the wall. I checked the smoothness of the pulley system by loading it with just 25lbs each side. I noticed it glides really smooth along the guide rails perfectly. Also, the pulleys were very smooth and silent. The unit came with some oil it didn’t actually need. But I went to my hardware store and got some lubricant spray and sprayed the guide rails and the bearings in the pulleys anyways. The unit glides like something at a commercial gym. Def a great design and build.

What is the maximum amount of weight *you personally* would use/think this machine is capable of handling? Got this off someone for 150

I honestly don’t know. I used it only for light weight movement. Like at most I put a 45 lb on each side. Any more and the whole thing moves. Super sketch. It’s just not heavy duty. Especially for the price. But it works!

can you measure the wall bracket to the machine? Will it take Bumper Plates?

I already sold it. And it will take bumper plates. You can even take the sleeve adapter off and just put the BPlates on no problem.
