Hey Nathie, I've watched a few of your videos now.. I'm appreciative that you did the unboxing on the Valve Index. I watched a review last week between a few different VR's and the valve was no.1.. so I wanted to know more now about what I should invest in.. I'm not a big gamer person really, but lately since lockdown I'm looking for some pure escape. Is the valve the way to go now - the one thing I really wanted you to talk about though on the unboxing was needing a P.C. to run it.. I heard that.. I have a MacBook it's shame this doesn't work off that.. so what sort of P.C. would I need ?? also can ou use gloves instead of the controllers and do they also do those treadmills or KATVR KATVR KATWALK MINI - VR TREADMILL MINI - VR TREADMILL

My support message from Valve about the infamous thumbstick click. Thank you for letting us know about your experience with the thumbstick. What you're describing sounds like the expected performance for the Index Controller. The thumbstick was designed to be clickable when it's straight up, which enables games which use the thumbstick as an accessory button to work with Index Controllers. In addition, we do expect that all thumbsticks should be able to actuate when tilted, though this may not produce the feel of a click. Thanks so much, Dillinger

I just bought the full kit a few days ago (i'm from latam wich means I had to pay some EXTRA MONEY if you know what I mean) and I most say that is the best VR headset I ever tried, the controllers feels great, the headset is not too heavy, the only issue was the setup of the base stations but once you do that, the other things to setup are like a trip in the park

They haven't address the desire for at least 2k x 2K panel resolution with eye-tracked foveated rendering to allow for great performance along with the improved visual fidelity. I like all that the Index does actually have though. The frunk might be the only thing I'd cut out if it could save a little cost, but maybe we'll see add-ons that make it worthwhile.

Ok... Got mine in. Set it up... Was a bit of a chore... Tracking still isn't right... One of my sensors keeps flashing in the Steam VR Home screen... So I think I'll move it to a different location. Otherwise, first impression is a very quality product. The visual through the headset... So crisp and sharp... Not fuzzy and blurry like my CV1.

It's not thaaaat expensive. This costs the same as the latest smart phone and yeah you need a good PC but the Quest is standalone and is half the price of a new smart phone.

I hate my life. Both the oculus quest and the valve index were announced within a month after my birthday so I couldn’t get one for my gift. Then I was admitted to hospital for a month and as a reward my parents bought me an oculus quest because we didn’t think the valve index was releasing until September. My quest arrived and a few days later the index started shipping then after two weeks of having my quest I’ve realised it’s a faulty model. The tracking is busted and my games keep crashing. I was hoping to return it and then save up the rest of the money for a valve index but then I realised that the index needs a 1070 gfx card at least whereas I only have a 1060. Plus I’ve already spent like 100 quid on games for the quest

Well it took vive 2 years to make a first party wireless solution, and this headset comes with even more tech challenges to overcome like the refresh rate and frunk's USB passthrough. Because you have no idea what how VR wireless technology. Not everyone has a CPU/MB that can run it, and even few have the extra $300-$200 plus any extra $40+ batteries you want to buy. Anyways, Valve has already confirmed they are working on a 802.11ay (60ghz) adapter solution.

Tell me about the plug that goes into your computer display port from the Valve Index. Mine is NOT standard display port and will not work with a mini display port to display port adapter. My laptop has a mini display port. The Oculus Rift S came with a mini DP to DP adapter and fit fine. It won't fit the Valve Index plug and it seems thinner and smaller like a OCuLink. Anybody?
