So in retrospect, I realized that I forgot to dive into Vlad and Isabella's campaign change recommendations. To put it simply, Vlad and Isabella (whichever one you choose to play) should be part of the Elector Count system just like Karl Franz. They're able to assign characters to the roles which give them access to some special units, bonuses, and a corrupted item based on what the original did. Assuming Balthasar Gelt is removed from the Elector Count system (which I heavily suspect he will be in Thrones of Decay), that would leave the system to exist only between Vlad/Isabella and Karl Franz which feels like a good move. Until we get Boris Todbringer at least, as an Elector Count he may also participate in the Elector Count slumber party.

In regards to a Jade Vampire Coast DLC, I think it would be fun if Cathay takes the aggressor role against which the Jades and another pirate faction (say, e.g. Skretch Half-Dead of Clan Skurvy) have to unite in an Imperialism vs Anarchy conflict, taking the role the Chaos faction presumably takes in the upcoming Lord Packs. From what we know about Yin-Yin, that seems to very much fit her character.

I too think the progenitor Vampires should be made into LLs. Ushoran and Abhorash is not only underrated but they deserved more screentime (as much as I hate the End Times, Abhorash deserved a model and rules). Problem would be with W'Soran he's totally, utterly dead and it would be either Melkhior (who IS W'Soran possessing his body) or Zacharias (who was also hinted until End Times that he was W'Soran possessing Zacharias). And no. Nagash should definitively be his own faction/race. THE LL leading the Undead Legions. With rosters from all factions + a chunk of his own stuff thrown in. Edit: Replace generic Vampire Lords and Strigoi with the Bloodline ones because those are simply superior reskins with additional skill-trees. It's not removal but replacing. In fact expand and enhance the bloodline mechanics and give VCs a Vampire Awakening mechanic similar to what Kislev has to their Ice Court mechanic. Edit2: In case of Necromancer Lords you give them the ability to transform into more powerful Litches who on top of having superior magical capabilities they also are more resilient.

I completely agree with Jade Vampires being part of the Coast. They explicitly said they didn't want the Vampirates to be Dreadfleet, so the faction is more representative of the Vampiric diaspora. Assuming GW doesn't change their mind on that, it seems any future Coast DLC won't focus on other Dreadfleet characters and instead focus on vampires living outside of the Old World.

All that Grombrindal and Abhorash comparison got me thinking of Abhorash as a shut-in. Like, he doesn't need to drink blood to survive, so he's found a comfy crypt to settle in and he just occasionally leaves to turn sire a warrior and before going "Welp, that's enough socializing for one century." and re-entombing himself... Aaaaaand now I'm imagining an Abhorash spin-off anime in the small but growing genre of "Cute Girl with Crippling Social Anxiety." Except Abhorash-chan is an ancient vampire sword-nut instead of a teenager.

I have a weird but cool idea for Nagash. If you want to play as him, you have to start as Arkhan the Black or one of the other undead-led factions (so not Aranessa, Kemmler, or Ghorst), become a mortarch, and then, as a mortarch, do well enough to impress Nagash, at which point he takes over your faction and you become Nagash, with all other mortarchs as your vassals. Meanwhile, if you're not playing down that path, you'll find a few undead leaders around the world start becoming mortarchs, and you never quite know if Nagash will rise in any of their lands, or even not at all. EDIT: For extra fun, give the system to Azhag as well.

"JiangShi" is kind of more like wraith if anything, they usually are dead who has Unfinished wish or deep Grudge who was wronged when they are alive... Some times it's said the travelers met their unexpected demise far away from their home would turn into JiangShi because they want to return and rest in their hometown... Other said those who were framed and killed to the crime they did not commit would resurrect as Jiangshi and took vengeance on those who had wronged he or she ... And there was some equivalent of necromancers who can Not only made JiangShi but also empower them with some dark energy to give them tough as steel body and powerful and poison claws ... most JiangShi can only hopping but some of the old JiangShi that can use supernatural energy to glide in low altitude, kind of like how the banshees dose... So I would say, they would be a More Powerful version of Wraith or even Wraith kings, like really resilient body that have physical resistance or armor saves even they not necessary wearing any, and would have poison attacks and some contact effects... they could be really Tanky, can take lots of damage ...

I'd love to see this as dlc! I had a couple minor thoughts too add... abhorash could maybe operate as a legendary hero similar to how gotrek and the green knight do. He's with you for 20 turns and then fucks off to somewhere else. The other thing I had was to somehow make banshees better in some way. They feel kinda weak. I read the Red Duke novel recently and the banshee in that book was a complete menace. It would be cool to see them be seen as an immediate threat on the battlefield. Just a couple thoughts I had. Great series dude!

Coven throne should just strip magic attack in an aoe, making it a huge force multiplier for ethereal units, and do some disgusting AP. They become the spear point for your ethereal terror charging force and give you a way to get some expensive but solid can opener options. I want more spooky support!

Regarding the hero types, I was thinking maybe vampires would get traits like “Bloodline - Lahmian” like the dwarves have “Ancestral blood - Valaya” (or whatever it is called). Those would be pure and have more focused bonuses/abilities from the trait, while the current generic ones represent the mixed bloodlines.

Maybe they will eventually fix up Gotrek + Felix to fulfil the LH role Grombrindal could've had. Maybe not quite the same, but I'd assume would be the easier change to make. Either way, super excited to see where CA brings the game in the future, will be fun to come back to these videos in a year or two and see what has changed.

I understand the feelings. 3 more days and we are already at the last month of summer and we have ZERO information about the content for the upcoming DLC. No matter what I feel like Cathay may be getting fucked by this DLC for the sake of favoring the damn CHAOS factions as they've been doing since the damn game launched. I felt safe with the DLC until it turned out that they fucked us over by splitting the DLC into three parts. Giving even less content to the factions that truly needs it. This constant CHAOS favoring is sickening. I didn't complain for the first 3 content drops for the fucking CHAOS. I started complaining at the 4th drop. It's been 7 CHAOS focused drops now nad this DLC will plus it to 8. Sickening.

It's far better that the Blood Dragon lord has dual swords, as it not only shows how much better he is in melee than most other vampires, but also isn't just some dumb oversized greatsword that is used across so many other units.

Personally, I don't think there is going to be a Bloodlines DLC, however I do believe that all Bloodlines are going to be covered by various contents and that is what I am going to propose in this comment. 1. Bloodlines as a campaign mechanic should be exclusive to vampire characters (I'll talk about the replacement for necromancers later, when I talk about Zacarias). 2. There are two characters that have enough content to sell a DLC: Neferata (vampiric manipulation network) and Zacarias (necrarch laboratory) but only one of the two will have a DLC. 3. Realistically, the DLC is going to go to Neferata, so Zacarias will be the FLC. How do we include the laboratory? 4. Necromancer characters, as a replacement for the bloodlines, obtain the necromantic laboratory and Zacarias is the only character who gains access to the laboratory and the bloodlines. 5. The Neferata DLC covers both Lahmia-associated units and Necrarch-associated units with Neferata focusing on Lahmia units and Zacarias focusing on Necrarch units. 6. Konrad von Carstein is the legendary hero of the DLC and Krell is made a legendary hero. Up to this point I include everything that will come directly for the vampire counts. 7. No vampire works for the strigoi so my option for the strigoi is Gashnag the black prince as part of the characters that will be part of Dogs of War and therefore a hybrid character between the southern kingdoms and vampire counts (in multiplayer he can lead armies in both races). I raise this under the premise that Dogs of War is going to be a character-heavy DLC in exchange for being quite cheap in terms of army options (a lot of reskin of empire units in addition to the fact that they are already adding Dogs of War units to the roster of the mother races of said units). Now it's time to talk about Nagash and his undead legion. 8. Nagash is going to come and that is undeniable just as it is undeniable that he will come as an independent race and from the hand of Nagash will come The Nameless and Dieter Helsnicht. What Nagash will also bring is Walack Harkon (perhaps as part of Undead Legions (hybrid with Vampire Counts) or as part of Vampire Counts). 9. Mousillon is in my opinion the true vampire mystery of the game because on the one hand we have that it is under the control of the Red Duke and on the other that its current legitimate ruler is Maloubaude (hybrid between Bretonnia and Vampire Counts/Undead Legion) and he is not in the game. Personally I would move Red Duke to Araby (this way Repanse has a justification for hunting undead in Araby) and give Mousillon to Mallobaude.

I think this would be absolutely amazing and would really add depth and uniqueness to the faction. I really enjoy what they’ve done with the chaos factions I think they hit a home run with that particular DLC. I would also like to see them do something similar with Greenskins. I know there aren’t that many legendary lords left, but would be cool to see a more fleshed out roster for the savage orcs, forest goblins, night goblins, hobgoblins, etc.

Have the jade blooded help cathay in the shadows kind of like death master snikch, have the units be some sort of undead that other cathay lords can unlock only if they do a certain action. On the matter of Ushoran and the strigoy, I am really against him being their LL. Indeed I am sad that he isn't dead. Because Ushoran, if not turned into a Ghoulking, would be the excellent foil to the current strugoy. And idol showing what they once were at the height of their power, compared to what they are now. This legendary ancestor and all his glory is a far better purpose for the founder of their bloodline. Indeed during his height he had nothing to do with ghouls as far as I am aware. So him turning into a ghoulking feels a bit forced to make him fit his later bloodline better. Indeed with him becoming also a Ghoulking kinda smeers over Ushorans function as an idol and lighthousw of a better more glorious past, and takes agency and individual tradegy away from the Ghoulkings. For even their founder fell, making it somehow a destiny for all ghoulkings to follow. Think of Sanguinius not dying and instead joining the religious xenophobia of modern 40k for example. This is kinda what happened to Ushoran. Worse it takes away from Vorag, who was the FIRST Ghoulking after all and founder of their new way of life, inspired by reclaiming their former empire. He was inspired by Ushorans idol function after all. Not to mention how underutilized Ushoran was by simplw being mad/dumb and doing nothing of significance for millenia. I could continue but IMO just killing Ushoran proper in the orc attack would have been better for the Strigoi overall. Sometlmes a character dying is better for a story.

I don't know if this would help, but in the first Vampire counts army book you could turn enemy characters with both Neferata and Walach Harkon. Neferata used her charms to seduce them, where as Walach Harkon othered a character who survived a round of combat (which was a very rare event) to drink from the blood chalice and become a blood dragon vampire. This was a Ld test and was a very funny way of trolling legendary lords. Hope this 25 year old lore helps.

I think Abhorash should be like Boris Ursus, where you unlock him after a battle, as Walach Harkon (Harkon is the dlc and Abhorash is a freelc) and then you can play ah his faction, to me, is what would make him more on a legend type of things. I'd make Abhorash more of the generic side of things since he is not that present in his bloodline, I'd make Harkon buff the actual blood dragons, Abhorash more his heroes mad army not specific units, or you could make him a legendary lord that you can't play as but can recruit down the line as Harkon

I think Nagash could be both Legendary hero or Legendary Lord... If you chose to play him then he is your faction Leader as a Legendary Lord. If you Chose to Fight him as an Undead faction, you have an Option to Defeat and Force him to serve you, then He became a Legendary Hero.

I think all the suggestions for unique undead monsters for different bloodlines might be best to be applied for the whole factions undead mechanic. Like with the Waagh horde mechanic you can get unique units at certain special locations with the raise dead mechanic. For example at a dragon graveyard you can raise undead dragons. Certain bloodlines could then perhaps augment them in certain way but the base mechanic should be faction wide.

Vampire Coast should be a very mixed faction anyway. King Amanhotep and Skretch Half-dead should be legendary lords at the least with strong ties to Noctilus obviously. Harkon can remain stand alone as well as Cylostra, with Jade Blooded as the final Vampire Coast faction. Remove Aranessa and create the Grand Alliance as a seperate faction with her in it.

I do disagree a bit about "never' removing content, as sometimes a mount means you can never balance the lord properly. Wulfrik is a good example. He should be a top tier foot duelist like he is in the lore, but CA can't balance him around that, if he can also just get a mammoth which would make his stats insane.

Agreed some mounts should straight up be removed from the game. Anything of Teclis', Lokhirs dragon, Wulfriks mammoth, Settras Sphinx and am sure there are more characters in the game that have mounts that they shouldn't. Also characters like Teclis and Kemmler should be able to fly on their own. A few others too I think. On the flip side of not losing content. The vortex map and all game 1 campaigns should be ported into game 3. This is the comprehensive version, I should have no need or reason ever to reinstall 1 or 2 but I do want to play Vortex map again.

Teclis is/was very sickly, having to take tonic to improve his fortitude and endurance. Riding greatly weakens him as it takes a toll on his body, and has been shown rely on magic to control a beast when he must ride (Gotrek and Felix: Giantslayer). In his own lore page in the High Elf Armybook as has been explained to me, in combat he simply uses magic to make himself fly rather than rely on a beast as it requires less magic to fly, rather than overcome the will of a creature. At most in combat he's been noted to ride a horse, and anything else has been out of combat because of the strain on his body and magic.

Plus the existence of vampire count minor faction has already set my expectations that there will be a jade blooded Vamp counts bloodline. Edit: Also I doubt CA would mind making both Vamp coast and Vamp pirate jade blooded. since Kemmler starts at Drachenfels he could have a deamon summon ability like blue horrors or any other bounds to chaos. Also i'd like to see blood kisses be like Bal'akors character transform mechanic, so you can't just recruit new vampire lords but you have to give blood kisses to get foreign characters join your bloodline. You can add as many bloodlines as you want to the game and it would still be balanced, when you don't add new units to the roster. if we get jade vampires, it would just be 1 lord, who could focus on ghostly units that also already exist. Compared to chaos (5 factions), they have a variety of units in their roster, for each god. VC already doesn't have this wide spread roster. so just a LL for jades would be enough. some lore...done. ez pz

I still don't see the jade vampires as a Vampire Coast faction. They simply don't fit thematically: the jade vampires never had a maritime theme, but something more similar to the lahmians but changing the seduction for bureaucracy and mysticism. They are descendants of Harakhte, the royal justice of Lahmia and therefore I see them more as corrupt mandarins and leaders of secret societies than simple pirates... I would prefer a character from that bloodline leading a dark Cathayan faction with some undead units. After all, in the modern version of Cathay, the corrupting influence of Tzeentch on the imperial government has been greatly reduced (except in the city of Beichai), and that niche could be filled by vampires.

the vampires need their own mechanic, not borrowed ones. each time a faction shares its unique thing, it becomes less of an identity in my opinion

HARD disagree on jade vampires as part of the vampire coast. It's already enough that we have Aranessa there who has absolutely NO eefing business being part of an undead faction. Don't make it even worse by throwing other stuff in there that absolutely doesn't belong. If we can't have Jade Vampires as tzheir own faction, than make them part of the Lamians. Definetly NOT the VC.

putting characters like abhorash in the game would be like putting nagash, sigmar, or the cathays dragon emperor in the game. It'd be like putting khorn as a character in the game. It makes no freaking sense at all, in terms of the relative power levels.

​@@PoorManatee6197 no, abhorash is like a superhero when compared to the other legendary lords. The legendary lords are just his students (luthor harkon etc). Just like nagash, or the great cathay dragons..adding them would be stupid, given the power level differences.

He's defeated every single thing he's come across, never really coming close to losing, including an ancient dragon whose blood he drank (all of it) to become a kind of "mega-vampire" that no longer needs to drink blood or really consume anything. Legendary lord level characters are basically his students (the red duke, walach harkon, luthor harkon, etc) whom he later abanadoned. Some consider that he might have ascended to godhood like Sigmar. Some consider that some of the lords of actual legend were him in disguise. There are some characters, like I mentioned (cathay dragon emperor, nagash) that no current warhammer character could ever think of defeating, and really no character in history could defeat either, except through incredible sacrifices and luck. They're the legends of the legends, so to speak, and they're very purposefully out of the game and were never playable in tabletop either. Keeping it that way makes the world building better. It's just more "fantastic" to know that even a world of legends has its "legends". It's always good to keep some mysteries and not reveal everything. This btw, is discounting the bullcrap endtimes that the marketting people wrote (in endtimes they just went all out to try to capitalize on their self-inflicted death and brought nagash out as a playable character ,etc)
