B Carroll contacting brands...... I contacted them. When you have an audience under 50k it’s unlikely that anyone will reach out to you. I put together brief presentation about my channel, goals, audience, stats, etc. I contacted brands on Facebook & Etsy that we’re in my niche. For the first couple I asked the brand to send items to try and review with a link or coupon code for my audience. After I recieved stats from those brand deals and other brands saw I had worked with brands I started asking for products to review plus a small compensation. Also amazon has a lot of potential. as an amazon affiliate, audible, prime & other amazon services can be a good assets. Your ex can put a small ad in your video with a link & make some extra cash each month from the service referrals as well product links. Comments/DMs..... always have comments open to everyone & when you can ad links in a description, in your video or blog do that. You want to make sure that brands know how to contact you. We are new to YT and does not even have a clue about all these social media stuff and company brands etc etc. I am an older person trying to help my GD with her channel. She is from a single parent household, so I am helping her mother with raising her. She is occupied with watching videos and educating herself, instead of hanging out. For now she is concentrating on making vids about Theme Parks, because we live near them. She is concentrating on getting more subscribers. Right now she only has about 102. She does not have FB or Instagram. I guess we will have a look into that. So thank you again Vanessa for your advise with these vids.

Thanks so much! I am very interested to know more about the practical side of brand deals. Things like: how to set up price 'packages', do you create a PDF with data like piecharts of demographic and other things, or not? When to send them your invoice, what things to include in the invoice. Also, do brands work with contracts? If so, what to look out for when signing or making one. When to expect payment and what to do when the payment is delayed. As someone who is just starting to work with brands (like you, I also waited a long time to first build trust with my audience) I'm kind of stuck on the practical stuff. I know my worth, I know how to make the videos, it's just that practical business/administration side I would love to know more about. Hope it makes sense :) Thanks for the great video!

This video is right on time as I am working hard to grow organic loyal followers on Instagram and eventually KZbin. My short term goal is to have 1000 loyal followers by the end of this year and start getting brand deals. After watching your videos Vanessa-I have finally found my niche too! Fashion and Natural hair. I am creating content specifically for these 2 categories. I am very passionate about it. The tip you’ve provided I found really helpful is this: An account with 35k followers vs 100k followers can charge more because of the various social channels that creator has-email list, Facebook group, KZbin channel, blog, etc. This is an eye opener and helps me create a plan on what I need to work on.

Not overly focused on it, but if an opportunity comes up I do take it. Problem is my channel is small, so I do struggle to get sponsors that are really worthwhile, but I do take the mantra of start small, work your way up, patience.
