I have a new level of respect for Angelina after watching this. She had just been mobbed by fans for her autograph to the point it could have become dangerous as she was entering the building. She handled herself beautifully during this event.

She is so talented and beautiful! I obviously don’t know her but her actions speak for themselves. The choices she made and continue to make are so inspiring.

Angelina Jolie is one of the finest artists of the times. A woman with a deep inside sharing some of that with us, her audience. Nothing than love and admiration for this remarkable woman! ❤

Utterly hypnotic, charm off the charts, beauty 8n the extreme, exquisite sense of humour, fascinating insight into Maria Callas' acute visual impairment, and her obvious love and admiration for Maria. Have been a devotee of MC all my life and am cannot wait to see the film.

I'm very looking forward to watching this movie bc Angie was a perfect cast choice bc of how empathetic she is towards the real persons she plays, how she deeply commits to becoming them, how committed she is to portray the person as accurately and respectfully as can be. Contrary to popular belief there aren't many A+ list actresses who are capable and willing to go that deeply for a role. Angie is known to dive so deeply in character that she keeps a piece of them for years afterwards, she says a part of Gia is still there within after 25 years (that role had fueled her addictions to a level that had almost killed her in the early 2000s).. To haters saying Angie can't melt into her characters or whatever I'll say this: neither do Meryl Streep or Kate Winslet no matter how terrific they are we all still see them/their face behind the character, you'd still see Meryl behind Margaret Thatcher and despite the great makeup and prosthetics For some really messed up reason there's always a double standard when it comes to Angie... I hope she'll win an Oscar for this role, I doubt she will bc she's been wonderfully vocal about denouncing what's going on in the Middle East (I can't write the country's name or the specific or the message gets shadow banned) so it may affect her chances a lot bc of the very influent lobby from the oppressor country in Hollywood.. Oh my goodness, I watched snippets of it on socials and I was looking for this interview! Since they started the festival circle,screenings, this is one of the warmest, most insightful, thoughtful interviews I've ever watched. I felt like I'm there. Thank you so much for recording it and sharing it

When I first saw it, I wasn’t sure if I liked it. I’m so used to seeing her be more verbal.. so I watched a documentary about Maria Calas. That’s when I realize she played it pretty perfect. She is a great actress. I’ve watched it already three times and each time I watch it I see something new.❤

"That's the greatest gift: you're scared of something and you get to be taught that new skill." Angelina Jolie on taking singing lessons (to play Maria Callas), after a lifetime of not singing: someone very close to her told her she was out of tune while singing "Happy Birthday".

Exactly I agree with this,you should face your fears head on , in a straightforward way. Plus only challenges take you a step further and they elevate you. I also liked her statement ‘’I’m not moved by self pity’’ .. we should get going with pride and strength. There’s nothing braver to me than facing your fears and keep going no matter what , continue to face them gracefully.

What amazed me about Maria was how feminist this film was. It reminded me of The Musical Unusual Way. The theme of her as the feminine muse with little value beyond her desirability to her male audience was similar. We only saw her through the lens of the way men saw her. She deserved to be seen more fully. But I think that was a goal of the film. When she is ill, she is unacceptable because she can't be human, vulnerable, and beautiful all at once. I just cried and cried. Such a beautiful portrayal. I will watch it again for sure.

Lord Harewood was a gentleman, besides a friend of Callas. Those BBC interviews in 1968 were taken in May... By October that year Onassis married Jacquie. George (L. Harewood) was interested in Callas legacy, while Mike Wallace was a whole different kind of thing... Plus he was a little prick.

I am reading all these positive comments and I saw this movie - it is very, very bad - Jolie is a very, very bad actress and if anyone ever watched any video about Maria Callas - even a person without a brain can tell that she looks nothing like Callas - I honestly could not even watch this movie to the end - and looked for another film called 'Maria by Callas' with the real Maria Callas - I honestly think there really was no need for this movie and honestly I have never seen a good movie with Jolie - she does not have any talent and cannot even be compared with the good acting of her father who is Hollywood royalty - I am extremely disappointed in this movie and would not even give it 1 star!!!! VERY BAD ACTING!

This woman is stupid. Her claim to fame is as an international advocate, not a lawyer. Angelina Jolie has no recourse to the law to defend the actions of the accused assailants, in whose honor she started a family. Now she is off to make money at the movie theaters, on the back of the victim of their crimes. What about the millions of little girls in the USA? I'd rather claim them as my children.
@anitoroyan27211 күн бұрын
She really is a bad choice for the role. She is not a singer and also, not enough intensity. Plus, it takes at least 10 years to master the art of singing opera and not 7 months, especially if you are over 35 years old. Angelina doesn’t know the difference between a voice lesson and a master class. Maria Calais led a series of master classes, and Angelina says she learned singing by watching those master classes. Master classes are not voice training. Really sad to see Angelina spreading misinformation about opera singing without having proper education. This is considered a malpractice.
