What I know is some people prefer just the channa taste as the tumeric only serves to add colour. but you can use curry powder or tumeric (saffron) or both.

Hi Ria sister the channa looks delicious my husband asked me to make him some a while ago but he became very sick he’s not eating sleeping he’s a heart patient he had surgery ten years ago but the heart is very weak and his condition is very serious he was hospitalized twice in the past two weeks and then they said that they can’t do anything and send him home take care my friend and have a wonderful day bye.

Yes. I drain the water from the tins AND rinse completely in my strainer cause of the sodium used in many canned peas. Hope this helps, as this is an amazing recipe.
