I think the top I/O is actually an advantage because it makes it easily accessible, it's like all of your I/O becomes front I/O. No more bending over, trying to see, fumbling to use your rear I/O. I don't think it looks bad either, it's just cables. You probably have a ton of cables around your space anyway.
@ExplodingWaffle1015 жыл бұрын
this is one of my favourite parts about itx: why have all that i/o on the back of the case if you aint gonna use it. besides that, im sure there are plenty of people with only 1 or 2 wired peripherals, and the rest can be taken care with by tiny 2.4ghz dongles (or just bluetooth if you're gross). the only thing that needs to stick up is display and ethernet if you arent using wifi.
@MyFabioTavares5 жыл бұрын
i dont have many cables around my space. i hate them . would be more simple it the motherboard would just be rotated so the i.o was on the back and the case would sit nice and clean over my desk. i really liked the look of the case but the I.O on top ruined it for me.

Thanks a lot for putting down which 5700XT fits inside this case, I was thinking about getting it however I wanted to go team red in terms of graphics cards, something to run 1440P games with some nice frame rates thrown in, honestly the case looks freaken nice however it would have been nice if they offered like an additional top cover piece even if you had to purchase it separately to hide the cable clutter. However it seems the company is aware it doesn't look the best since on their site one of their notes is: "A USB hub with ethernet plugged into the back can reduce the cables needed on top to only display cables" so definitely getting a USB hub if I'm gonna have to use more than one USB port, however I'm planning on mostly going wireless, so wireless keyboard + mouse so the dongles shouldn't look too bad at the top so I should be fine.

Nice video as always, though i want to suggest one more point you could check for future comparisons : gpu height. (not width) For example putting oversized gpu in skyreach 4 mini requires major modding because of the height limit. Velka 5 could achieve such a small dimension basically because it got rid of the power extension cord, diminishing the height of gpu clearance (also discarding AIO and boottom fan mount support unlike dan a4) Oversized gpus are somewhat getting trendy and some gpus might have trouble plugging the pcie power pin. I think this is fairly important aspect for small form factor building.

actually with the new lightspeed mouse and k/b from Logitech with latency pretty much the same as wired, a decent wifi card and the fact that most (all?) mITX Mobos have 1 or 2 m.2 drives and the case supporting a 2.5" drive, all you would have is a power cable and a DP/HDMI cable coming out (it actually comes with two right-angled HDMI adapters) the only problem I have with this case is that (from the website) Some motherboards with integrated IO shields may be incompatible.

Potentially save... Just go with Micro-ATX build and save a LOT compared to mini itx. For mini itx builds price (and noise) is not an issue, size is... For some reason. I really wanted to make a mini itx Pc, but found out going micro ATX is significantly cheaper, and going full ATX isn't THAT much bigger. Once the case is under the table, you'll hardly notice it. It's currently on hold, Michael of Velkase (the maker) said he is waiting to see how will Velka 5 do. Hopefully he makes the Velka 7 too, it would be an amazing case.
@meltinini79204 жыл бұрын
@@LastSecBloomer Sadly (or, happily, depending on how you take this), the Velka 7 is a revised Velka 5 and the *new* Velka 5 is a smaller version of that supports GPU's up to 270mm and the cooler height shrunken down to 37mm, as well as using a Flex-ATX. It has this weird orientation or setup where there are internal extension cables and the motherboard rotated but still maintains the case being a sandwich design and still stands the same way as seen in the video, but the cables spew from the back instead from the top. I believe the *new* Velka 5 and the current Velka 7 follow the same format, with the Velka 7 being the *old* Velka 5 but with the same design intentions as what I mentioned about the *new* Velka 5, but has the same or similar cooler height compatibility of 47mm (but the Cryorig C7 and any of its variants aren't compatible anymore, or so what the site says) and still has the SFX PSU support.

Hm. The NZXT H1 has a much better solution for the cable mess, imo. Yes, it makes the case a little bit "bigger" (I wonder if this counts towards the volume. if so, it shouldn't), but cables coming out of the top is just ugly. They could have adopted that solution for the Velka 5 with some standoffs or a plastic shroud. But I guess than it wouldn't look so "small" anymore in the marketing pictures... ITX cases are still a niche , but for ITX customers, afaik, a clean look is important.
