A doctor in making yeah that’s a good point. I think people will begin to recognize that when everyone is finally valued for simply being a human. Like rn, women are *just becoming equal members of society (compared to the timeline of civilizations oppressing women, it’s pretty recent) so today’s culture isn’t quick to jump in a man’s defense bc a lot of men (most def not all) haven’t necessarily stood for equality. So now when someone jumps to a man’s defense, they have to specify that he isn’t like all men (in this case, Eddie specific that by saying that he’s a good friend and a good family man). I know this isn’t completely true for all cases regarding gender equality, but I think it may apply here

I was just talking with a friend about it recently, how it was ironic that Eddie drew the line at eating officers since most likely at least a couple of those officers were severely wounded or died from being tossed around. Humans vs concrete, concrete will usually win. Eddie wanted out of the situation, but once Venom has control there's not much Eddie can do aside from try to talk Venom down. I don't know about everyone else, but I personally wouldn't have called Venom a jackass if the officers had been female, because they still would have been an armed and armored threat, unlike Eddie's friend who was an unarmed guard, or any average woman not trained for combat. Eddie at that time was still trying to figure out what made Venom tick and what possibly might keep him from eating people, so he made an emotional plea for his friend because that, as a human, is what Eddie knows. Remember Venom is an alien whose own gender depends entirely on whatever body he is living in, so Venom would see no difference between a male or female officer. Venom's ethics depend on his host's, and he only absorbs those ethics over time of being bonded with his host. Anyone who would call Venom a chauvinist would be forgetting that he is an alien, and you shouldn't apply human ideals to an alien. He can't be a chauvinist purely by definition. You yourself are applying human ideas of sex and gender to an alien. Venom wouldn't know to care, his species doesn't have sexes, they reproduce through replication. He likes to fight and to eat, so all he saw was sport and an easy meal. Now on to the real-world stuff: If women had 'equality' that demeaned men, then it wouldn't be equality. I know there are feminists who are crazy and hate anything with a dick, but they're the minority, thank god. I don't know about other women you've met, but I have a brother who I would be supremely upset if he had to deal with the things I've dealt with from men. And some of those inequalities he does encounter because he is autistic. I personally am upset that I have to feel grateful when I come across men who will treat me like a person first and a woman second. All the men I work with treat me wonderfully. Ironic since they're all from the Middle East and people in the US think they all hate women. I can assure anyone from personal experience that not only do they not hate women, but I've had more opportunity and respect from them than I've gotten from most white American men I've had to work under. I hate the gender rolls society enforces for all of us. I've gotten into all kinds of awkward situations because I grew up with no gender rolls at all, my mother did literally everything from cooking to construction, so I grew up thinking the gender rolls I saw in cartoons were a relic of the past. I wish dearly they were so both men and women can behave as they wish without scorn. If you're upset that other men will laugh at a man who fails, then go get mad at those men. If a woman leaves because of a failure, we need to know what that failure was. If it was a small thing, then she's a bitch. If it was a big thing - like when Anne left Eddie because he got her fired - then she's taking care of herself. I would've left Eddie too - much as I enjoy his character - because that was a massive betrayal that had severe consequences. Even if it hadn't had consequences, I probably would have left regardless because all trust was shattered, and trust is sacred. I would expect a man to do the same if a woman betrayed his trust the way Eddie betrayed Anne's. And so far as the disposability of men, that is a construct again created by other men, probably from the ideas of war and such, so really it's a construct that was created specifically by men in power who send other men out to fight their wars while they sit comfortably reaping the benefits of those wars. It's wrong men are viewed as little toy soldiers that can be replaced whenever necessary. No one should be viewed as replaceable, because most everyone is irreplaceable to someone who loves them.

I really like how the SWAT uses everything at their disposal. Smoke, Flares, Flashbangs, nothing really works aside from the flashbangs but they try. Like when they lose their guns they immediately draw pistols. They aren't the usual useless fodder who just stand there and not even shoot. They shoot a lot and change up tactics, even though it doesn't work.

I do love Venom so much, as he respects Anne after she tells Eddie to get in her car, even though she saw him about to eat a police officer and is impressed by her determination to stay calm and help Eddie out. He also tells Eddie that he should apologise to her, after going through his memories and finds out on what happened and tells him that he might not get another chance, showing that slowly over time and going through his memories, Venom starts to genuinely care about Eddie and love him, which shows how adorable Venom really is even in its early days on Earth.🥰😊😍
