@DrAlanQuan have you ever used the sigma cortex with the ps5? Trying to decide between getting the logitech G-pro wheel or a simagic alpha mini with the sigma cortex.

No, I've never touched a Sigma Cortex (or G Pro wheel) before Have fun with the decision!

i dont know why it isnt mentioned more explicitly in reviews but knowing the haptics can plug straight into the wheelplate has saved me alot of unescessary spending, they sell a control box and mounting brackets yet they are not nescessary at all if you buy p1000's, so thanks for saving my wallet a little, im sure there are reviews that say it too but none i watched

@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan Ай бұрын
@@flingo1192 yeah there's a big difference between haptics on and haptics off. It's unmistakeable feedback in the sole of your foot. For me and the cars I drive, I didn't find the haptics of much benefit so I don't run any pedal haptics on my personal rig.

My favorite pedals of all times. True pedals that gained me a whole second and i was already getting d2 to d3 laptimes now im solidly getting d1 times. The trail braking on these are so easy and controlled so much better. I absolutely love the travel and even the position sensor! Ive loved using the angle setting tbh its so so accurate. Also holy crap the quality? Ive yet to find or feel another set that feels this quality by something thats mass produced. I dont use 3 pedals. I never hse the clutch with the sims I play. So I placed the brake where the clutch would go 😉. Its also so easy to do that I could always add it back on when and if I want to.

@@DrAlanQuanSra guudelines or laptimes for like division racers. So if you go to the sra site. They have a list of every track and times from d6 down to alien times which are even faster then d1. Good little list to go by to see how fast you are in comparison. I go by it to see how competative I am or how much better I'm doing. It's the sim racing alliance.

Another thoughtful review with the pros and cons. Are the VNM still your preferred pedals? Also have you tried the VRS which seem to get positive reviews?
@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan Ай бұрын
Hi! VNM is still my preferred pedal - having spent more time with them both, I find the VNM throttle in particular has much more natural feel. I haven't tried the VRS, I did reach out to them but they declined to send me any pedals to test. They seem like a solid choice though.

Very solid choice, do you think you would mount with the side plates or through the pedal base itself? The clutch and throttle blocking the mounting holes was annoying to me but don't know if it would be an issue at all for you.

Can you make comparison between P1000 & VNM lite pedals? Both are in same budget range, one side Simagic provides modular solution and other side VNM has solid design. Comparison would be interesting.

great video mate, always top quality. id love to move over to simagic myself but sadly i need console compatibility. were these USB pedals or did you ever try plug them into your dd1? i also see now they have a rgb kit for them which only tempts me more haha.
@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan 6 ай бұрын
Hi Bob 👋 These are USB, there is no RJ12 option to even try plugging them into the DD1. If you're wanting console (PlayStation at least) compatibility you can go to a full Simagic setup and use a Sigma Cortex converter. Oh yes, things just got expensive for you hahaha

Great review, but I have to say your comment on the clutch surprised me. Every manual car I've driven has had a clutch which feels non linear - light initial due to the take up, stiff as you begin to disengage, and then gradually lightening again as the clutch becomes fully disengaged. I've never experienced a linear clutch. Then again all of my driving experience comes from cars manufactured well over 25 years ago - no ABS, no traction or stability control, and mostly no power steering. The only assistance being a vacuum servo for the brakes.
@DrAlanQuan

Hi Slaphead, thanks for commenting. I figured if all the pedal manufacturers are building in this mechanism, there must be some basis in truth for it. My biggest experience with a manual vehicle was my 2007 Evo 9, I had 3 clutches in that over 11 years and I raced it at my local circuit (my earliest videos on the channel include it). 2 of the clutches were sprung organic plate, and one was an unsprung twin plate metallic clutch (an Ogura 559 to be exact) and all of them had a progressive clutch feel. The only vehicles I've driven with that ptonounced clutch drop off are very unexciting rental type vehicles (VW golf, Suzuki Swift etc) and that's not what I want in my sim. I want my old race car back! I'm glad we're able to have this conversation though. I seem to be in the minority about clutch feel but that's why I make these reviews - they are my reviews after all and if my preferences don't match yours (or others) then you know what to listen to and what to dismiss! What do you drive these days? I've long since sold the Evo, now I cruise around in a lovely automatic 2015 5 series

@@DrAlanQuan I don't actually drive these days, actually I haven't for around 18 years. I moved from the UK to Switzerland, and honestly anywhere I want to go to I can get there faster and cheaper with public transport than if I had my own car.

Hello, Great review. Compare to VNM V1 and P1000(I currently have it), which one is better ? Considering to replace my P1000 by VRS or VNM V1 ......
@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan 5 ай бұрын
Did you ask this question on Reddit? I think I replied you... I like the VNM better overall. The pedal feel especially the throttle is more natural to me. There's also more adjustability in every sense, which in my experience meant the VNMs felt perfect but with the P1000s the best I could get was 'good enough, but not perfect' The best thing about the P1000s is how easy it is to run haptics. That said, I prefer the better pedal fundamentals of the VNM over the P1000 even if I have to go without haptics

I'm an idiot, printed that throttle throw mod and have no idea how to install it. I've been staring at my disassembled throttle for an hour and unable to solve it. Could you happen to throw an old guy some tips?

It's been a while, but I recall using my fingers to unscrew the throttle cylinder and then the little bumpers are assembled (how ever many pills you want, plus the top cap) and put within the spring and then everything gets put back together
