Lift up the chrome lip using a flat hear screwdriver & spray some PB blaster in the opening. Keep the opening open with the screwdriver & the tire bead will brake loose in a few seconds.

So if it is a directional tire does it matter which side the valve stem is on? ok so deep side goes on the vespa's left side! learning is fun

The one part that I really need to see is how you got the large side of the rim seated into the tire. That seems to have been skipped over, Im guessing because it takes time and is not easy or pretty

My expectation from this video was to see a nice and easy trick how to remove the rim halfs from the old tyre, especialy the deep half. This is a big pain in a** everytime even if the tyre is not rusty. I dont know an easy trick yet, I always give up and have it machined at a shop, which I dont like. Any tips on this?

I have the same issue with clean rims, and using water and dishsoap and long flat screwdrivers. it is an epic battle and I always end up taking it in. What is the magic trick?

My magic trick (after lots of swearing) is buying new rims! I’ve lost count how many I’ve bought and how many rusty ones I’ve thrown away over the last 20 years 😂

Hope someone out there can answer a question I cannot seem to find anywhere..here goes..I have 1979 ET3 smallframe..when rear tire is installed correctly which I mean to say with the deep side of the rim facing the inside by the spring my tire will rub the spring..when I turn the tire the other way with deep side facing out I have clearance beside the spring..Is there any danger of riding this way..I have been riding with no issue..anyone out there have opinion.

After 30 years of riding older Vespa's, just replace the rims if there's any rust in there. As Robot said!!!

Looks to easy ! Yeah right... On the video we see you putting the first half, then on next plan the rim is in it ! Miracle ? Tell me it is a fight to fit the 1st half on the tire please ! It is VERY difficult !
