Whoa, very cool rigging. I was trying to think why I haven't seen that. Here in MN all of our trees are similar to this white poplar, short and bushy. So our rigging lines are usually 150'. So if we put a prussic in the middle it would limit us to a 37.5 foot high rigging point. I'm guessing you have a 200 foot rigging line?

Ya, I don't use anything less than 200ft here. My main rigging line is 300ft.

You guys made that look too simple and easy. How much did you charge for this tree? I'm asking because I recently a small tree that was a ton of work but without any rigging(I just cut it into small pieces with a pole saw) that needed some basic rigging and I felt like got lowballed by the client majorly(actually I underbidded myself after they complained about the pricing)

@@VeteranTreeService So you like using hinge cuts for most of the small and medium branches? I had an old tree worker vet come help me on a job and he used the hinge cut to take down a bunch of trees lol.

Since you didnt trust that top you could of backed it up to where you were rigging from and made it stronger

Mid ties would have helped over the neighbours yard, poor boys pulling all them pieces up. If you’re concerned about them flying too far; still mid/tip tie with the friction cord and sling, put a half hitch on the butt for support and use the other sling and biner for a control line, I usually just take a wrap and control it myself to free up hands

Interesting rigging idea. It turns the system into a spider leg? The half hitch supports the butt and the prussic supports the tip ideally creating a balanced limb as it comes off.

@@VeteranTreeService that’s the idea !! I’m glad you understand what I was trying to explain. It’s so hard to articulate rigging systems without physically seeing it. Obviously another way is to just have a short rope to use as a control. Stay safe mate, love from Australia
