I hope we can have much more help for our youth in the future but this is an amazing start to this epidemic of homeless children and families

This is an amazing place and school, the government should do this in every state, homelessness is not bound to any creed or color. This could happen to anyone, especially during this pandemic, this has been a scary time for everyone that doesn’t have a living wage.

Well this is awesome, it's unfortunate that literally the richest country on Earth has this problem in the first place, but at least SOME people care enough to do something. Massive respect for these people.

"Higher level of neglect, more evidence of domestic violence...that we TYPICALLY see." well isn't that depressing

This is extremely positive and the sort of news I like to see. I grew up homeless in my early teens. Going to public school, it was extremely hard keeping my situation a secret. There was a level of shameful baggage that came with being homeless. Or atleast it felt that way. To worsen my situation, the state had a program that allowed me to attend any school I pleased, meaning they would go out of the way through the school system to ensure I was bused there. So I naturally chose the school I had already been attending prior to becoming homeless. Unfortunately that school only had 1 bus available that could make a route that far out of the way, and it was the "short" bus. So on top of the shame of being the homeless kid, there was the risk of other kids also believing I was mentally disabled in some way. A school like this one would have completely saved me from that stress and grief I felt as a young man knowing other people would look down on me if they ever found out.

I wish I could’ve gone to a place like this as a kid. My mom, sister and me had to live in a homeless shelter for 1 year when my mom left my abusive alcoholic father. We got picked on in school and my bus driver would drop me off in the middle of nowhere on purpose and say I had nowhere to go anyways. I was 7 years old.

I’m so sorry. That makes me so mad! Why on earth would the bus driver be so cruel to a child! Really feels like people in poverty are socially acceptable to discriminate against :(

Wow! That's so hard to read. I can't believe people can be so cruel.
