@@JAKE-ng8yr It's ofc gonna be better after 3 years but its actually not bad today. Stellaris is good in 2017 but Stellaris improve himself that to much even stellaris diplomacy better than eu4 one clearly. You doesnt need to play without mod either, paradox mods is a god tier mods.

@@JAKE-ng8yr Personally, I’m ready to change my downvote on Steam to an upvote. I’m wrapping up my second play through in the past week and its been a lot of fun. Sure, there is a lot more that needs to be added to really make it shine but its come a long way in the past couple months. I agree on the mixed reviews on Steam, but it seems like a lot of people may still have a chip on their shoulder (and rightfully so). I never really played Vic2 and the only other Paradox game I’ve dumped a lot of time into is EU4, so I suppose I’m not as jaded as most of the fan base.

@@SMGJohn Most of the criticisms I've seen regarding Victoria 3 have been either too much micromanaging of the economy and politics or not enough micromanaging of warfare. Usually from the same people. Really it just sounds like they want Victorian-era HoI4. What's left to criticize (lack of flavor, passive AI, bugginess), I don't think is enough to make it a bad game.

Changes look very constructive; the challenge that you’re facing here is that many of these changes (and recent patches) should have been included at launch and hence, a lot of the potential new customers are a bit reluctant to buy at this time, but these changes are indeed good and the game has vastly improved.

It's a paradox game, it happens with every game. It is always better to buy a year after release to see if the development is going in a positive direction

The last patch seems to have improved performance a bit in the late game. Still not great but better. I think they still got room for optimization.

This game is really good but unfortunately released way too early. Feel bad for the devs being forced to pump out these shells under time constraint. They deserve more time to make the game like this before it releases. Imagine Imperator Rome still alive after all this time. Whenever I play it, I love it and I curse whoever at paradox decided to release it before it was ready, then abandon it just when it was getting fixed.

There's an easy mod for that which dont break savegames or is achievement incompatible, so no reason to not get it

All of this hits differently when you see they used your home country (Venezuela) to illustrate most of the new features as you ride in a train in Switzerland (culturally removed from the game, wonder what they would think)

They will touch Russia and other countries in the future. They announced country or region specific content for dlc's. So for unique content for Russia you should have to wait until their DLC, which may take a while.

I agree, something to guide nations because half of the time they don’t do the historical path and kinda sour the game. I’ve had games where the North German Federation only owns about half of German states and the Franco-Prussian war doesn’t happen

they said something along the lines that they want to get more into details with laws eventually, as currently there's just 3-5 per law and nothing more complex

What about the extremely tedious building menu and the lack of a decent economy overview? In late-game I completely lose track on the necessities, strength and weakness of my economy. The gameplay basically turns into a continuous hell of pointing and clicking as well as opening and closing windows, checking every single province over and over again. Allow the player to see what's actually going on in his country in an uncomplicated, clear manner.

First impressions actually do mean something. PDS really needs closed/open betas to map out features that the players want BEFORE release, not five years after it comes out. I am looking at you, CK3 and HOI4.

One big change I would love to see would be more historically accurate political leaders. Like it would be nice to not have Abraham Lincoln retire from politics before 1860 or have Bismarck die or retire before 1870...I like randomness, but not so much that there's little chance to see certain key historical figures be able to get played out.

I would like to see better names for states in Polish region, because Greater Poland and Lesser Poland are not in the places they should be... Well I can understand why Lesser Poland isn't in the right place (because of a historical context), but can't you change the name to something else? And the state of Posen? You guys don't need to go deep in historical details to see why it doesn't make sense. New names don't need to be based on historical data in 100%, but only to be accurate. Please, consider my comment. You know... listen to the voice of the people... (or rather of a single guy)

Well, say I'm disappointed is nothing to say. UI is terrible. Why you use so much space for picture of the leader? I am not associating my country with him, I'm not interested in how he looks, all is meaningful is his STATS! And here I have to learn what each pictures means in right bottom edge... So much depressing red background and dark plates, bars are not helping to estimate how many of 1,18 mln greenlover farmers are disloyal... I have flashbacks with Imperator Rome, feels like game gonna die in year of struggling development.... Very sad
