Your videos are so helpful for me. Im so glad that you’ve created this platform so that people will be educated on taking care of hamsters. My hammy will not stop biting I’ve changed her cage size. I offer her treats so she takes. She did climb into my hand today very briefly, which is progress because she normally doesn’t do that but I did the bathtub taming. When I put my hands in the cage. She keeps keeps biting multiple times I don’t know what to do. She’s so cute, but I don’t want to be bit every five seconds.

Hi! I’m not sure that you’ll ever see this comment but, I only ever seen my hamster for short period of time (he only comes out around 9:30) lets me give him a treat then falls asleep again. I would really like to see him more and It makes it impossible to clean his cage and that’s when I’m going to sleep, what should I do.

He may not be falling asleep but rather still awake doing things in his burrows/nest. I would say it would be fine to do a cage clean when he first wakes up.

Hamsters are not good pets for people who want to interact with their pets and play with them. My hamster wakes up between 11 and 1 in the morning most days. On occasion she wakes up during the day for water or food. On spot cleaning days I don’t have to wake her but on full cage cleaning days I just put her in a smaller cage with her favorite hide to let her decompress since she had to wake up before she was ready.

Happy to see you are back again! I’ve a question when you treat Penny for mites. It seems you aren’t treating all hamsters for mites. Why? I was to the vet yesterday because one of my hamsters had started to loose hair. Now we will try to treat for mites but the wet recommended to do it to all my hamsters (I’ve also have 3 hamsters at home). The wet clink also recommended to sanitize their cages even though the other two don’t show any hair losses. 🤔

It's not necessary, demodex is usually present in small numbers among all mammals. The reason demodex mites causes an issue is when they have a lowered immune system or were a bit stressed causing the number to multiply quicker. So if the other hamster's aren't showing signs it wouldn't be necessary to treat them especially since they don't share anything either. If it was a different type of mites like tropical rat mites then it would be necessary but in the case of demodex no!

make sure you keep your hammy in a completely separate room from the cat and make sure there’s no way the cat can get in. NEVER leave the door open for the cat to get in, and make sure the cage is super secure so the hamster can’t get out easily. also make sure you do plenty of research and give your hamster the best life possible! Victoria has so many amazing videos on hamster care which really helped me when getting a hamster ❤ good luck !!

With bins it is very hard to find something that is going to meet the minimum 40"x20" and something tall enough that you can put deep bedding, so unless you can find something that fits that criteria I probably would go for something else!
