I’m super desensitized now when it comes to death in general (I partially grew up in a funeral home but that’s another story lol) but yeah, it still pops up in my mind too. A murder is crazy. 38:50 there is actually already studies being done to show cocomelon and constant screen time is very bad for developing baby brains. Especially with cocomelon. It is a very overstimulating show and will over stimulate the babies to the point they are getting dopamine highs, which then cause dopamine lows since they aren’t constantly overstimulated. It’s showed that 5 seconds in that show is already way more stimulating than a toddler should be watching. It’s so damaging and really scary. Cause in some cases these are the parents who don’t know how to deal with their kids crying and screaming and needing something to do, so they stick an iPad in their hands… and these will be the same parents who won’t know what to do when that iPad causes many developmental challenges and stunts as they get older. Hi Brittany and Sarah, I actually met my first boyfriend on Chatroulette. It was 2010, literally right after graduation when my friend & I went on the website to goof around and we matched with a guy who happened to live in the same county, and was only a year older. He wasn’t creepy (didn’t show his junk or ask us any inappropriate questions) but he did say I was “cute.” After talking with him for a bit, my friend made us connect on Facebook, and a few weeks later we met in person. That was the beginning of our 7 year relationship. We eventually broke up. I always forget how we actually met, because when we were kids we made a cover story so to not alarm our families that we met on a cam site.

I did not realize how much I traumatized myself with omegle encounters til I was like 18. In a way it feels like I was virtually m***sted and I still kinda blame myself for it.

(dont blame yourself, the point is literally that you were too young and had too little life experience to know better. thats why the adult perpetrators are the predators.)

Honestly would love to see y'all just ramble for an entire episode. Like see where your minds take you from the beginning to the end lol. Cannot imagine the range of topics that would be covered

I used to work at Victoria’s Secret and would do the floor sets so when we set up new marketing and took down the old ones we were allowed to keep the giant cutouts of models so me and a few of my coworkers drunkenly got on Omegle and put the cutout in front of the camera as we spoke for Adriana Lima to the people on the other side of the camera. I remember it so clearly it was fun as hell.
@misskirika20432 жыл бұрын
For some reason the mental image I immediately got was someone clicking “next” and being greeted by a dimly lit room full of models. Just 10 Adriana Limas lit only by the light of the monitor, watching, judging…

Sarah- You learning German definitely gives me motivation to start learning German again… I was born over there and my mom and siblings are from there & speak the language. I don’t, because I’m also coincidentally a US Air Force brat! Never too late to learn another language!! I’ve been binging these episodes and they’re all so funny and wonderful. I really appreciate your jokes, honesty, vulnerability, and the pure silliness of all these topics. They’ve been getting me through really difficult and stressful times. I listen to them often while I’m working and they make me happy. Please keep doing what you’re doing!

Now that I'm 30 I love the range of reactions I get on among us. I changed my username to Old AF and it's always one of two extremes, kids saying "omg that's so old!" or "damn grandma!" And adults with "that's not too bad I'm 28".

As a person who grew up minimal online supervision, due to parents being older and not fully understanding the internet and being the youngest kid, I appreciate this episode to my core

You can tell Sarah is intelligent with how quick witted she is. It’s honestly very refreshing, and attractive to come across in the wild. So maybe girly was just like damn you’re so smart 😉 ya know? Bcs that’s how I would’ve took it. 🤣😎

As a woman in STEM, one of my biggest pet peeves is people saying things like "oh you're actually right" or "oh you're actually smart" -especially when men say things like this. It just shows true character and how little people think of you, the worst part is they (men) don't even realize they're being rude when they word stuff this way. Time to use weaponized incompetence against these kinds of people... ;)

At the age of 12 i was coerced into flashing my chest to a grown man on omegle and like where were my parents? How did i get away with that?
@vanaa21302 жыл бұрын
How did he* get away w that. The internet is quite scary for young children. Especially when it was new and parents didn't think to check what all could happen. It wasn't your fault. You were 12??? Sick men on there preying on young girls..

So I went on omegle a lot and I made a pen pal from there and essentially became his sponsor to help him quit taking oxys. He would just call me any time he felt like doing drugs and I would just talk to him about his feeling and shit. Quite the interesting relationship for a 14 year old girl to have lmao. 😂

And yes he was masturbating when we first started talking but somehow the conversation turned to music lmao

My senior year of high school (2012, for timeline context), my best friend and I were sitting in her room on our laptops chatting with people on Omegle, and we randomly got connected to each other and then messaged each other for hours even though we were sitting right next to each other.

My partner and I met on Chatroulette 5 years ago. Two lonely insomniacs. He was in LA, I am in Minneapolis. We both traveled back forth for a year (with my cat!) before deciding he would move here. We now own a home together. It’s a wild story to tell people. I envision Chatroulette playing a part in our wedding somehow.

when you were talking about iPad babies it reminded me of my youngest sister. when she was like 2 or 3 she was constantly watching nursery rhyme videos or anything like cocomelon on my mums iPad and I really do think its affected her because now she is 8 years old, nearly 9, and she hugs her tablet while she sleeps like she never puts it down unless she is going to school and she will scream and cry if anyone even touches it or tries to take it off of her. she rarely goes outside, she's very ignorant and rude, she spent nearly £300 of my mums money on Roblox because she somehow learnt how to work bank cards(???)and she is exposed to so much on TikTok its scary.

9:50 Not that science has ever been the forte of this podcast, but scientist here, and I thought I’d shed some light. E = mc2 is the equation that Einstein discovered which finally mathematically proved that matter, and atoms are essentially just condensed energy. Every object made of matter that has mass contains an extraordinary amount of energy locked away in the bonds within the atom. Using this equation, nuclear scientists were finally able to understand exactly how to make a fission bomb go supercritical and explode. So while Einstein paved the way to engineer the atom bomb with his equation, he wasn’t really involved past that. And after the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima he was personally very saddened that his discovery was used for destruction rather than it’s other use, nuclear energy. Also, if you wanna know something really wild, when an atom bomb detonates, only about 0.1% of the energy that COULD be released, is released. So the destructive power of a nuclear bomb is only 0.1% of the actual total energy contained within the mass of plutonium or uranium. In fact, the Hiroshima bomb is calculated to have only converted the equivalent of 700mg of mass into pure energy, or less than one third of the mass of a US dime.
