Viserys was RIGHT | House of the Dragon Season 2

Viserys was right. One of the most shocking moments of the second episode of House of the Dragon, is when Otto Hightower tells Aegon, the current king of Westeros, that Viserys was right, and that Aegon should not have been the heir to the throne. This is the moment when Otto reveals a rather uncomfortable truth to Aegon, and the truth is that it was thanks to the old Hightower that this young man is now on the throne. But Otto regrets what happened and remembers the old monarch. But what exactly did Otto mean when he said that Viserys was right?
Could it be that Otto could support Rhaenyra to regain the throne? Could it be that Alicent's father regretted what he had provoked? In this video, we will be talking about the reason why Viserys was right.

Otto and alicent have to blame themselves. Otto well said to prepare aegon to rule because the time was coming as viserys time was short. Thats a very big mistake made by the two of them by not preparing him in time now look what aegon has become. Its not actually his fault. Not to mention the fact he never got real love and parenting

1- Vizzy T wasn't a weak king. He was sick for most of his reign. I mean look at how him, Daemon and Rhaenys are. The family wasn't at war and despite the politics, they were close. If he had fostered the royal family like the previous generation the war wouldn't have broken out. His biggest flaw was how he treated Daemon and trusted Otto. He was a hands-on-father to Aemon in the beginning before his illness. When the other kids came along, I don't think he could give them attention because of his sickness. Vizzy T if he lived long enough, he might have forced peace. Aemon didn't want to be King; (what did he want to do, anyway). 2- Aemond vs Aemon isn't happening. They have a strange bond like Vizzy T and Daemon. Otto doesn't know his grandkids. 3- Otto didn't know Rhaenyra and that's sad since he saw her grow up along side his daughter. She was strong willed to the end and her supporters put her children on the throne. There was no way she would go away quietly and the stupid offer..... he should have offered her a free washing machine to go with all of it too cause yeah why not.

Again Viserys could've prevented this by declaring to the realm that Rhaenyra was still his heir, regardless of the 3 sons Alicent bire him. He never did so in all the intervening years.

I'm Team Black of Rhaenyra Targaryen. As I observe during this series, Visery's a good king although there are many times that I found his decision stupid because he preferred Otto's decision rather that his own daughter. Daemon and the others sees him as weak but it's only Rhaenyra who can understand him including his dreams about the Prince That was Promised. The people around him was responsible for the destruction of House Targaryen. I hope that Jon Snow would be able to continue this House.

Rhaenyra is the Queen, so House Targaryen is my vote. I've never read the books and I'm old and infirmed. But I make sure to watch this series. I have bought all the GOT videos. I also have a curious thought and observation with King Viserys and his unhealed wounds. In that one episode where Viserys is having sex with his wife and she watches a rat run across the bedstead. Notice on his back that the black spots and stuff, some look like fingerprints and hand printish appearance. Somebody poisoning him by transferring the poison by hands? The finger that turns black after cutting his finger on the throne. Poisoned? His wife was mixing his pain cocktails. Of course his unhealing sores were happening before he married again. Was the Hand doing it?

I disagree because Viserys saw his family turning against each other and taking sides, or should have, and didn’t do enough to remedy it. He should have been more proactive in ensuring that his children were close and trusted each other and, regardless of his skills, he shouldn’t have placed so much power in the hands of someone who was clearly self-interested. Ultimately, Viserys was the king and he allowed Otto and many others to do things that contributed substantially to the situation that led to the Dance of the Dragons so while Otto may be more to blame Viserys was weak and he bears a lot of responsibility for what ended up happening.

@@ibnelkhan Yes but by Andal law they cannot inherit the throne. That's where Rhaenyra messed up, her claim was already weak. The lords don't give a fuck what the King says once he's dead unless he was a great king like Jaehaerys. Aegon II is the true king by Andal law that's why most of westeros supports him. Rhaenyra needs to kill all of Viserys' other children to remove all challenge, Otta was 100% right about that, even if Aegon didn't usurp her throne other Westerosi lords would have started a rebellion to put Aegon on the throne.

@hawks7111 Aegon would've been the true king if Otto and the council hadn't pushed Viserys to name a successor. But they did, and with the circumstances at the time they did, Rhaenyra could be named successor. At that point his word became final.

Rheanyra said to Daemond that she never trusted him fully which let to a fight and Daemond left. She was the right queen and Visery's legacy. All his virtues had been passed to Rhaenyra. She refused all this time to make war just for the sake of the common people and her family members. She said that she wants the throne only for the good of the Westeroes because only she knew that the winter would come and has a purpose to pass it to her descendants. The main reason she married Daemond was for a support because her husnand was a lgbt who not only did not do his job as a housband but brought her a lot of troubles and left. She knew that her gender would bring her a lot of troubles and for god sake of course a mother with 3 kids a future queen with hyenas around would want a men to support her emotionally and strategically. Daemon was the best option for her.

That's the entire point of the dance of dragons was that neither side won and it eventually led to the downfall of the dragon dynasty later. Once people saw the dragons could be killed and realized they had a better chance of living without the dragons, the Targaryen family lost a lot of the fear that helped them stay in control. The madness of some family members didn't help either

Definitely agree! Had she married her brother while was still a younging, she could have had her affairs and explore her sex life with others as she ended up doing with laenor. Just minus the having kids by anyone else lol. Once Aegon came to age and it came to having an heir with rhaenyra then they surely could have worked something out when that time came. She could have built a strong bond with her brother in that time of being betrothed as he grows and doing her own thing on the side.

The king’s word is law, and male preference for inheritance is nothing more than a tradition. ask the faith militant what happened when they tried to attack the Targaryen’s over their traditions and beliefs about incest. For a king traditions are nothing more than things to be leaned into when convenient and ignored or abolished when they get your way. His daughter is the heir by right and decree of the sitting king. Team Black. Viseyrus was right that his eldest doesn't have the right temperament to the job. Aegon II is known to surround himself with syncaphants and fed his Narcissistic tendencies. I will be in House Stark Both Aegon and Aemond are not good for the throne and unfortunately neither is Daemon. Allicent last son may have the right temperament for a King. Viseyrus was flawed in that he believed Kingdom would accept a woman as ruler but not in the assessment of his children. Daemon saw the Throne as a privilege and not a duty. Aemond is the same
