B12 deficiency has just struck me age 62. It causes many disease symptoms. Low stomach acid was the problem. Took plenty of apple cider vinegar to improve stomach acid. Took a few months to overcome b12 symptoms. Improves straight away, but I suggest do not neglect low stomach acid

Hey there! I've done extensive research on B12 and have also experimented on myself the last 4 years of being vegan and eating a very clean diet. No sugar, bagels, wheat and such things. My B12 levels dropped and I wasn't feeling great at all because I believed that the whole B12 issue wasn't true and that vegans could easily keep b12 in their bodies for many years and from plants. Apparently plant foods have absolutely no B12 that can be absorbed by the human body. Plant foods like spirulina have analogue B12 that is a "false" B12. B12 is bacteria in the soil and we could get it from the soil, but since our plants are washed so much, and sprayed with various chemicals plus are soils are depleted, i don't think that this is an option, unless you grow your own garden. Be careful everyone and always listen to your body.Always.

What you said is correct, but at the same time we need a source of B12 that is reliable, so we definitely know we're getting B12. So I think it makes sense to take Methylcobalamin when you're over 45 years old, and any B12 supplement in general till then. I think it's better to have an insurance policy then to just hope you're getting B12 in your diet. Especially as not having enough B12 can lead to serious mental health problems.

I grow my own garden in mineral-rich soil and go out daily to pick and eat things straight out of the garden. I used to think as you do, and didn't supplement with B-12 for years. Then I got absolutely debilitating muscle cramps that would not let up for weeks on end. Every night was hell. Went back on B-12, and problem solved. Just putting that out there as a warning. Trust your body. It knows what it needs.
@MarkusRothkranz3 жыл бұрын
It's not just a matter of getting it in you, but also what happens once it's inside your body and how it assimilates. Antibiotics, alcohol, sugar, bread, coffee, tea, alkaline water, calcium supplements and other things with tannins etc for example all affect absorption. People are constantly changing dietary and lifestyle habits (even subtly) that affect all kinds of things. Lots of things block nutrient absorption.B vitamins require acids and most people have low stomach acid because of wheat and sugar. Even "healthy" crackers , orange juice and coffee can seriously affect stomach acid levels. The worst is alkaline water. It's possible you also changed up something during that time. Muscle cramps are also a sign of low magnesium which is actually the most common cause. Most people are seriously low in magnesium, which is why its the first thing paramedics inject when someone has a heart attack. ...OR the other way around- maybe you have good stomach acid and you washed your garden vegetables too well and your stomach acid killed the little remaining bacteria before it got in your lower intestine. Most people don't eat dirty veggies, they brush it off and then wash it real good. But there are definitely organisms in the ground! And those organisms produce B12.

I did in fact watch this video 3 times and I picked up a bit more and heard things in different and clearer ways the 2nd and 3rd time. In the same way our brains get transfixed on one idea that intrigues us and we're distracted for a moment... a 2nd and 3rd listening is a great idea for this video.
@YZ450f246 жыл бұрын
Zachary Scott you do want to take a B12 supplement though you don't want to rely on your diet only for B12. it's not just the fact that plants have dirt on them or that some plants aren't washed well and you consume some of that soil but it's also the fact that a lot of the soil that those plants are grown in now has been fertilized and sterilized and even if there is soil on Plants the plants are sprayed and sterilized rendering any amount of B12 insufficient. It's a vitamin that is one of the most vital to human health and to further show how easy it is to get insufficient amounts just look at how many meat eaters are B12 are deficient. it's something that you want a good strong source of with no chances taken.

Missing one of the most important pieces of information here… So many people who think they need B12 are actually missing the other half of the equation… I was almost certain you were going to tap into this when you mentioned the meat. B12 needs the protein enzyme “intrinsic factor” to metabolize into the body. So many people who think they are low in B 12 are actually deficient of this enzyme... everyone thinks “I need B12 for energy” and they take more and more of it… Newsflash, your body has a fort Knox storehouse of B 12 (unless you are anemic) just like your body has a royal storehouse of sugar. Your body is always striving to maintain a state of homeostasis. There is a salt for every pepper and vice a versa. That is why so many people tried B12 and claimed it does not work for them… They don’t need B12 they need intrinsic factor. Just like so many people think they need more sugar for energy… Their body craves sugar because they are low in chromium and therefore it is not being distributed through their body properly. Insulin is the car, chromium is the gas. That car is not going to drive sugar to the bodies delivery points very much if it’s all out of gas. Unfortunately our incredible 3 pound brains can’t tell the difference, it just knows it needs sugar delivered somewhere and sends out the craving. I really enjoyed your video on bones, magnesium, and silica. It is relieving to see somebody on KZbin actually putting out good information on all of this stuff instead of feeding into pop-culture...and I totally agree with you… Seaweed is absolutely rancid and a wonderful source of B12! LOL subscribed :)

More or less right, except it’s our gut and gut flora, that craves sugar etc. By sending messages to our brain. Listen to Markus. He said it all and although he speaks fast and gets excited, he tells it, as it is. The best way to introduce more gut flora, together with vitamin B12, is to eat the dirt, by not overly washing and make probiotic unpasteurised, fermented food, such as Sauerkraut and Kimchi, using brine. This is how our ancestors survived and by not eating prepared, processed packaged food. Incidentally I find that veggie, vegans and raw food devotees, all speak fast, since their brains are working at breakneck speed. I also find, I cannot get the words out fast enough, to keep up with thoughts, ever since I gave up meat and cooked un-sprouted grain, such as wheat, as in bread, pasta etc.

Interesting and cool insights about B!2. It appeared to come as I asked a question about the so-called ' weeds' in my yard that I am eating within investigating native plants etc. What I have found is that they are extremely bitter, yet there are other aspects of some of the other plants. Some create more mucas, some are more tart. Anyway, I wondered what the relationship was between bitter things ( that are so missed in our modern dietary palette) and B12. You just answered that question. Thanks. reminds of of a Weston Price story about Indians who moved to England and started to have health issues even though their diet did not change. Turns out, the rice in India had protein from the bugs accumulated in the storage. IN England, the rice was too sterile- no more bugs!

Markus, I love the path you're on and I know we are both constantly learning great ways to improve health. I have taken on a new approach to life called breatharian as where I live on light but it has not been exactly the most efficient method yet, due to pollutants in the environment I am located in. I have been living on a very low income for a while now and couldn't afford the products you offer but they are the bomb from what I know about them, through a liquidarian style diet. I also experimented with water fasts and practicing different types of yogic cleanses (Himalayan salt cleanses) and using the enemas. I have investigated urine therapy, and got over psychological disgust with knowing it is sterile to ourselves. I have realized I was on a path I may have to find outside sources beside my feeling and intuition. This led me to HRM's sungazing protocol, which I looked at sunrises and sunsets each day for months on end and felt a better sense of wellness and decided I'd watch the documentaries I found online and in turn found a man by the name of Wiley Brooks. You may have looked into him before but I tried his 5d diet for breatharians... consisting of diet coke in 20 ounce and 1 liter bottles, and large cups with no ice from McDonald's along with the double quarter pounder and fries, you can run through his website and look into it for yourself because it has helped me immensely. It is an out of the box feeling I get, so much more energy and positivity from my mind that I have never felt before, it literally helped give me empathy! Not to mention it takes great care of my proportion and skin so I'm led to believe we don't have the whole dietary thing completely worked out yet. Another man by the name oh Jon Whatley under KZbin has investigated the ancient Egyptian symbol for ra and how it associates with the brain and others. This man has a lot of self help videos as well. I study from every angle because the footprint of humans at even the slightest level of impact always leaves me wondering if the way I make choices could affect lives around me in such subtlety. You are a great speaker in my eyes and you maybe have taken a look into where I am on this path, but I'd like to know what you think about all this. You are possibly the only person I could think of asking to check into this and not come back without knowing the full story just like me. I'm currently indecisive with progression due to distance from friends and family like never before. I have no clue how to literally live without people so I thought I'd spark up conversation and see what a like mind might get from my insights. Maybe you have the focus to explain how this might truly be helping me. I will appreciate whatever you can come up with. Sincerely, Trevor McIntosh
@lizzzarduh3 жыл бұрын
Hey Trevor, I noticed no one replied to your comment so I thought I’d give it a go...so are you still on this path you mentioned? My take is I don’t see how eating McDonald’s and drinking coke could do anything beneficial for your health but hey who knows I mean do we really know everything? No....if you’re low income still I would suggest searching for free edible seeds and plants that Markus talks about in his videos out in nature as best you can and just eat them. See what happens and keep a positive mindset.

My stomach lacks the intrinsic factor to absorb B12. I had mthfr testing done and that's what was found. I have two genetic mutations. So it would be nice if you could recognize that there are those like myself out there. Some take B12 shots, and others have nasal spray that will help B12 absorb through your mucous membranes. We are out there.

I have the same condition. Just diagnosed 2 months ago. I was told that the 12 small strokes I've had were linked to this genetic mutation I have and severely (chronic/lethal) levels of B12. I was given a shot of B12 immediately and put on Folbic 2x daily for the rest of my life. My vegan friend who is mainly a fruitopian, says she can "fix" me with fruit. She hates that I take anything prescribed. May I ask how you have faired since your last post? I am in the south of France trying to recover from these strokes. I have left (semi-retired) from my 25 year, high-stress career. I have eliminated most meat and animal products (hard to do in cheese country) and I am not seeing much difference. I am still taking the Folbic until I solve this absorption issue. Do you still take shots or supplement? Best wishes to you. -Jack
