There is an interesting connection between vitamin D, bile, and your gallbladder. Here’s what you need to know.
DATA:

0:00 Vitamin D, bile, and your gallbladder
0:06 Vitamin D
0:15 Vitamin D deficiency
0:59 Sources of vitamin D
1:38 Vitamin D absorption
3:48 VDR agonist
Today, we’re going to talk about the interesting connection between vitamin D, bile, and your gallbladder.
Vitamin D is probably one of the most important vitamins, yet it’s one of the most common vitamin deficiencies.
Vitamin D is important for:
• Bone growth
• Sleep
• Blood sugars
• Immunity
• Inflammation
• Cardiovascular health
• The brain
It’s almost impossible to get enough vitamin D from your diet. You can get vitamin D from the sun. But, you may not get enough vitamin D from the sun if you’re older, you have certain health conditions, your skin is darker, or during the winter months. There can also be issues with absorption that can cause you to not get enough vitamin D.
Absorption of vitamin D:
• Certain nutrients can help support the absorption of vitamin D (magnesium, B6, and K2).
• If you have malabsorption, you could have a difficult time absorbing vitamin D. Issues like damage to the inside of the colon, inflammatory conditions, an issue with the gallbladder, or a lack of bile could cause malabsorption.
• Certain viruses have a strategy of downgrading the vitamin D receptor. This can make it difficult to absorb vitamin D.
• Cortisol, which comes from stress or certain medications, can block the vitamin D receptor.
• Polymorphism is a mutation in the gene that is a part of the vitamin D receptor.
A VDR agonist is something that connects to make everything work. A few examples of a VDR agonist would be:
• Vitamin D (in higher amounts)
• Benicar
• Bile salts

I had my gallbladder removed in 2010. I had to wait 11 years and find all this out from a doc on KZbin! You'd think they'd tell you all this beforehand! Thanks Doc! I started taking TUDCA 3 weeks ago in small amounts and it had made a big difference in how well I feel. I have even lost a little weight, even though that wasn't an immediate goal.

The regular medical doctors don't know nothing about your vitamin D3 like he says the 250 HD is the inactive form of vitamin D3 and the 1.25 dihydroxy vitamin d is the active form so make sure you ask the doctor for both of these tests.

My gallbladder was removed last 2021, and I didn't know bile salt till this year when I was recommended taking it by my gastro since my total bilirubin is high. I also have hemolytic anemia that's why my bilirubin is like that. Now, I'm also taking Vitamin D as supplement because someone recommended me that for blood regulation. My main problem is actually my low hemoglobin and hba1c, and with this new knowledge from your video, it encourages me more to consistently take those supplements. I just pray that my blood will also improve. In Jesus name. 🙏 may God bless you as you continue to produce contents helping people be more knowledgeable about vitamins and nutrients. ☺️

According to the site, olmesartan is the strongest agonist to VDR - thus you get maximum benefits for immunity, bone health, no infections at all. Very underrated subject for other doctors. Dr. Berg, I had my gallbladder removed about 15 yrs. ago. I now have PBC and remembered reading on my biopsy report about bile. First, could you tell me exactly what would be the most beneficial supplements to take. I am already taking a few but now I wonder about bile salts and perhaps the milk thistle. I don't want to overtax my liver with supplements but totally believe in them. I am on a keto diet and in 6 months my numbers improved by half so I am hopeful of being able to keep the disease in check. At this time I have no symptoms and feel energetic and great except for the occasional sleepiness once in a while. I'd appreciate your advice. I do value all your videos and advice. Thank You!

I have read on another webpage that 'bile acid' medications inhibit the absorption / properties of Vitamin K2, I assume that this does not refer to Bile Salts or am I wrong? I find your videos very educational, thank you very much.

Hi Dr. Berg, when is the best time to take bile salts? I don't have a gallbladder. I'm taking 2000IU per day since 2019 is that enough?

Thank you for all this amazing education and healing. I've started stabilising my gut with spore biotics for a month which has stopped all the stomach attacks and now I will start on the bile salts. Will the salts permanently increase the recirculating bile in my body or will there only be enough for a meal to aid digestion? Thank you again Dr Berg.

I’m about to start on spore biotics. Did you have any side effects. I’m a little apprehensive to take soil based. Thx.

Dr.Berg I lost my gall bladder years ago and I contribute a big part of it to a very low fat,no fat many OF THOSE days diet although I lost a ton of weight, I was also only 37 and I just had my son and was determined to lose all the weight from baby pregnancy which I did reach my goal. sorry I didn’t do choline at that time I hate that they took my gall bladder. I had stones. I am now on keto following a lot of your guidelines. I am in keto flu right now but amazing how I am doing the IF and I am NOT HUNGRY. Am I losing weight, I feel like it, but a big factor is I’m not drinking red wine, a bottle at least 3 glasses or more every night. That’s a lot of sugar plus like you teach the alcohol. But my question is since I just started taking vitamin D and should I take bile and how much?

I heard that it takes up to 24hrs for you to absorb the VitD made on the skin, so most people that spend time outside (like on the beach) will take a shower right after and the use of soap will wash off most of that VitD made ...is this true?

What surgery did you have? For the most part consumption of organ meats, raw or cooked. Good quality eggs and the likes should help you with it. Pasture raised eggs and grass fed butter should help to

I had mine removed 3yrs ago & have the same problem. I had to do the big chop which I wasn't happy with, but getting used to it. So far I've found in the past 2mo taking MSM powder w/emergenC to help w/absorption has been helping me get it thicker. I'm going to start some bile salts soon.

@@1happycountrymom677🌴Hi, Thanks for your reply. 😇 Hope you don't mind, I have a few questions... 1. What is "Raw Thyroid" Capsules, and the name of brand you take? 2. What kind of Kelp and the name of the brand? 🌺 3. Did a doctor tell you that this will help? 4. About how long did it take before you noticed the shedding stopped after taking the supplements? 🌺 5. Do you still take supplements for maintenance dose? 6. Lastly, how long did you deal with the hair shedding from Gall Bladder-Removal Surgery before you took these supplements ? Thanks! 🌺🌴 😇

I'm so confused. Do I take the bilecsalts at the same time as D3 and fish oil? Or can I take the bile salts then later take D3? My gallbladder was removed 28 years ago.

hello dr. berg thank you for your effort. in the bast 2 months, I lost 4 kilos of fat following your advice. I have one question: daily in the window of eating I take (1multivitamin bell) (1 omega 3) and (1 probiotic). however, I heard in one of your videos that some vitamins such as A might be bad if I take. so do you think 1 multivitamin bill a day can be hurtful or it is ok?
