Mate, same colour as my Test Ride Bike. I did a vid as it happens :-) I had ALL the upgrades, cept the Braided lines and the Akro that is available. I loved it...SO MUCH! Seat has ...Erm, slight issues..It's freakin UNCOMFORTABLE is what it is :-) But, they already do a replacement seat and the Torque is AMAZING!! I mean I loved the Torque, that is what this bike delivers. Mate, I never had the rear wheel jitters, not at all!! This bike will (it should) make Yammy a heap of Profit. The price is VERY competitive!! I want one, so BAD!!! Envious! Nicely done, aint she fun! :-) And I agree, the rear is VERY good!!

Well done with your purchase, mate! Welcome to the club :) I have the orange one too and loving every bit of it. Funny enough had a similar experience as you with having to take it home in rain and since then, for the last 2 weeks I've owned it, it's been raining more than it's been dry. Annoying but makes the wait for the summer so much sweeter! Looking forward to your followup to see what you think about it!

Very good review. Full in depth and I test rode this bike yet learned features the dealer didn't know. The MPG tracker is a good thing to watch and track which is cool. I rode in STD mode and I was fine with the power but been riding for quite sometime so I can control my wrist.

Dude......pulling cleanly from down low doesnt mean rolling along with no throttle, they are talking about the fact that from 2k rpm it has major torque pull and it is very linear......i.e a very flat torque curve. It "pulls cleanly" pretty much right from idle with a very smooth progressive motion all the way through to peak power rpm's, with no noticeable flat spots or hiccups. In other words, it pulls cleanly from down low under acceleration, not rolls cleanly without throttle. Smoothest fuelling bike I have ever ridden IMO.

Good review. I rode the Daytona, Speed and street triple at a recent Triumph ride day and the only other bike to put them against is the MT-09. Value for money and bang for the buck the Yamaha may be the one.

it does look good they will sell well in the UK I was at my local dealer at the weekend and they had three in which instantly sold. he said they are also making an MT 07, going to be a 700cc twin which he said is going to be priced around 5K so that would probably sell really well just on price.

Good review man! Do you recomend this bike for a newbie? I mean I had other bikes but not that powerful...
@TheXhosa10 жыл бұрын
I see that people always compare this bike with Street Triple. Street Triple is in another class bro :) It's not all about the bigger engine but the motorcycle as a whole . Street Triple is intended for the street as the name of the bike says meaning that you have more than enough power to play with while riding in an almost perfect body. MT09 as you said it is all about the engine while Street Triple is all about everything that it can do on the streets from the chassis to the engine everything is blended almost perfectly if you know what I mean. At least I respect your review for not being a biased one. Keep up the good job keep it safe and enjoy your ride !
@Benno8282829 жыл бұрын
Pity it's so damn fugly..
@swolemountain53469 жыл бұрын
Sorry but in every respect this bike is lighter, more powerful and cheaper than the street triple. I think your the biased one...
@TheXhosa9 жыл бұрын
Sorry but before calling me biased read the WHOLE WORLD WIDE WEB about that and it would be even better to test BOTH bikes by YOURSELF.
@paulcherry92559 жыл бұрын
I found it a bit juddery in first through low revs too, was a bit unnerving at first but the test ride was an absolute blast other then that.

Going to test ride this thing on tuesday, but I'm not sure if the power will be enough. 115hp @ 188kg seems a bit timid. Though this would easily smoke a Ducati Hypermoto, which is really not all that impressive since the hyper is a fat slug. Failing that I guess it's the MT10.

A rear spring will not sort the suspension out on the MT-09. the front and rear both need work, may be a new rear shock with preload and damping and a new set of front springs. don't get me wrong its a nice bike for the money, but the engine is to much for the cheap suspension
@nitemunky7610 жыл бұрын
Grats on your new ride. Great motor. How are you finding the "budget" suspension?
@pipboychronicles10 жыл бұрын
The suspension needs work, but you have plenty of money left over compared to a Street Triple R to get it perfect :)

took one out for a test ride here in the UK, great engine loads of torque, but the suspension is crap to soft and fuel injection is rough. Its cheap for a reason. I shall be keeping my Aprilia Tuono v twin i think.
@jordangalan19469 жыл бұрын
The snatchy fuelling has been fixed in the 2015 model. Not to mention $200 for a new rear spring and you're set. Such a good engine in this bike
@hooliganconcepts50529 жыл бұрын
Jordan Galan That $200 new spring is going to be very difficult to put in even for a experienced mechanic. good luck.
@firstavailablename9 жыл бұрын
David Ellis Mate, definitely keep your Tuono... or sell it and buy 2 MT-09's... Whatever... One guarantee is that all MT-09 owners have at least as much fun as you on their bikes with the added bonus of having $11000aud spare for a computer, tv, tablet, new mobile phone, front lawn, rear extension and patio on the house... Hope the Tuono is THAT much more fun LOL
@davidellis59649 жыл бұрын
i purchased my tuono second-hand 05 plate for £2.500.00 well cheap. 3 owners and 17000 miles on the clock fsh, with extra's. Aprilia's for some reason don't hold there price well. so its bargain time. do you math i think you have it wrong some how

@IamIronMan10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think you need to buy motion tracking in a separate package or something. I was looking at FCP the other day and there's a couple of packages you can buy for it, have a look on the Apple App Store
@pipboychronicles10 жыл бұрын
I am Iron Man Yeah I tried a few plugins however the on the fly rendering runs ridiculously slow in FCP with them so I'm hoping the new update supports better graphics card rendering. I have another plan for my next video anyway which I am hoping works as it will save editing stuff :)

This was my first bike. Dropped the bitch. It is a forgiving bike. Nothing broke, case only got minor scratches. Wouldn't recommend it for the average Joe noob starting out who has zero self control, though. I dropped it coming to a stop, so it wasn't an actual moving error as much as it was applying too much front brake while nervous. I tend to be a bit responsible and don't much like paying for tickets so I've taken the bike easy. Given a day on it, however, I feel incredibly comfortable and have definitely gotten very used to it. To each their own, but for a first bike, this will scare the actual shit out of you. No doubt about it.

@jimjames823410 жыл бұрын
What your doing to the engine at low revs is called "bogging" and it is a Very bad thing to do to a motor that hasn't been run in. The reason that bogging is bad as I understand it is because it over stresses the drive train : from the con rods all the way thru the transmission. It can also over heat the engine as it doesn't move enough oil thru the engine at those basement revs to protect the metal in your cylinders . Just sayin.. does anyone else know why thats bad? nice review tho and thanx!
@evilet111110 жыл бұрын
Agreed.. Why operate it at that low rpm?
@pipboychronicles10 жыл бұрын
Chris Evernden I break in engines by running them like I normally would. Get them up to temperature then run the revs up and down with varying load levels. Manual break in guidelines are designed so manufacturers cant be held liable when someone bins their bike in the first 20 minutes. If you baby an engine from new then it will always be a lazy motor. I also did no bog down the engine, i was running it at idle speed in first gear to see how it would pull in crawling traffic with the clutch out.
@AridersLifeYT10 жыл бұрын
bullshit, jim james. Engine wear in procedures are advised by the manufacturer so no one goes crazy and crash's the bike. Family friends are Factory rider for yamaha and he told me that it says so for legal reasons only.
@pipboychronicles10 жыл бұрын
Yup its nothing more than stopping people from binning their bikes, I run all my engines hard when they are new after 50-100km. Dump the oil around 200km

good vlog but this is my main gripe. why is it the in the US the have more colours for the bike and a low price of just $7990.00 against $11450.00 in AUSTRALIA plus all we get is a muddy black and a muddy dark blue and the orange. are we just a dumping ground for the colours that the rest of the world doesn't want? and whats with the price? do the US base their price on volume and AUSTRALIA on how much they can screw out of the public? or are the AUSTRALIAN dealers just too greedy?
@Winny56110 жыл бұрын
there was a comment on another video addressing this and I think it is a perfect answer to your question, long story short from what I understand Australian companies that distribute motorcycles barely have competition, therefore the consumers there are forced to buy at whatever price they decide. As for the colors I don't really know.
@pipboychronicles10 жыл бұрын
michael mouse It is commonly known as the "Australia Tax" we get ripped off on everything. Not only that, the US always get things before us aswell :(

Motorcycle are quiet expensive in Australia and Asia, Uk is cheaper, America is the cheapest market its probably volume sales, UK Bikers use to buy Europe imports, i purchased my Aprilia that way. saved about £2000.00, but the pound is quiet strong against the Euro now.
@alaqsaretowijaya37449 жыл бұрын
michael mouse It's not really bad compared to Indonesia. Above 250 CC bike and 2 litre and above on car, we get 125 % Tax, TOTAL RIPOFF ! If i buy one, with the same amount of money i can get 2 same bikes in other country.In indonesia 2014 Yamaha R1 is Rp. 345.000.000 or US$ 26.600. with US$ 26.000 and add around 5000 more, you can get 2 BRAND NEW 2015 R1
