I gotta admit, I was watching John long before I knew that he wrote, well, HIS Books (I mean Paper Towns, Looking For Alaska and the others), and I've always known that the guy that wrote them was a videoblogger, and YET failed to conect the dots, so I was unimaginably shocked when I knew that this John was that John.

I'm from New York and I met a window washer on the ferry from Staten Island. We got into an interesting conversation every time I saw him. It was probably ropes for that platform that carries them up and down. They are brave souls to do that. God bless them and their bravery

OH MY GOSH> THE ROPE!! John, John, I'm serious, I just moved away from NYC and my Res Hall (I'm in college) HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN! We couldn't figure it out; there was no known purpose for the rope. They showed up in the middle of the evening, were there all through the night, and there were more of them. Like 3 of them!
