Love this series, Sage! I feel like it helps to demystify UTMB for me, in a really positive way. I also love that you always pass the animals with "its okay, I'm vegan." I do the same thing and its such a silly and fun thing to say haha!

Hey Sage, awesome as always. Sorry if I’ve just missed it, but have you posted a gear video for your soft UTMB? I’d be super curious about the pack as well as your nutrition since you appear to be travelling so light!
@Vo2maxProductions2 жыл бұрын
Pack was a CAMELBAK Octane 25L. With the camera gear (drone, chargers, battery) I thought it was quite heavy actually (maybe 15 pounds?). I also had changes of clothes (cold weather gear) and a lot of Spring Energy. In the end I used a lot of cash to buy drinks and food at the huts in the mountains along the way too though.

Another great video! So, how does one know they are prepared to run 100 miles? Is this based off of a weekly mileage goal or is based on specific training aspects such as running two or more back to back 30 mile runs?
@Vo2maxProductions2 жыл бұрын
I'd say finishing a 100km first is a good goal. Honestly I never feel really "prepared" and am still waiting on a strong 100-mile finish. I almost never do "back to back" long runs...but I do do pretty high mileage and a lot of climbing. Honestly a lot of it seems mental and is about nutrition and gear management and pacing (to finish and pace yourself well) as well as maybe even sleep deprevation tolerance! I'd guess most people have done some 25-30 mile Long Runs though and are running over 50-miles per week.

@Vo2maxProductions2 жыл бұрын
Hotels in the towns are fairly expensive (I mean not compared to parts of Colorado for me though!). A lot of people will book huts way in advance (the mountain cabins to stay the night at but they fill up quickly I've heard)....I know some people had tents and would camp too but I don't know the rules (laws) and regulations for that.
