You gave such a true comment on what music means. It often is dismissed as something frivelous or just a means of making money. But if we look at how we all got emotionally involved with the singers of BZ it is obvious that it means something much more important and deeper. As long as artists can get the freedom to express themselves in their own way, and we get to share that, in the end it seems to make all of us happier, of even for a little while. And in todays world that is a great comfort.

I miss being a lead vocalist...I started out I. A boys choir in Vienna Austria back when dad was in the army...I was a soprano until 15 (puberty,), and then high tenor and sang in bands so long until I ruined my voice in smoky bars and horrible sound men...I loved singing in auditoriums...nothing sounds better than ur voice in front of 20k ppl. I love theses songs...that’s what I do now...write sons, screen plays and novels and short stories so no singing 🎤 and I miss it but I can sit back and remember those nights back In The late 60’s all the way until 1982...then the glams and Eddie Van Halen wannabes came out...my days were over...I happened upon ur channel and feel a connection, is it bc I visited ur city, fell in love with it and may just move back to retire in a small town like Puallyup or smaller ...I love the PNW...all the way town to Humbolt cty....it would be fun to talk about war-stories...I’m sure u have a myriad of tales...take care and I will watch ur channel and share it...I just love this song the morning and wow, what vocals..take care...

Yet another stellar duet from BZ. Floor has such a strong voice that Tim had some trouble keeping up. Somebody on another reaction channel already suggested that this cover version should be called "Swallow" because Floor almost totally overpowers Tim. P.S. For me music is one true international language that transcends over generations as well.

The only other singer besides Floor I had heard of was Henk and these two sing on a different level than the others. You could see the nervousness in the others at the beginning of the show and being afraid of screwing up in front of them. The presence of Floor and Henk made the others stretch their abilities and rise to the occasion. They all deserve props.

I do not agree. Tim has been in the professional scene since 1990. Nervous? not really (not more than normal). To be honest, each and everyone was kinda nervous to perform at such a close range, which is normal.

When the drummer started revving up and Floor sort of uncoiled from her chair, I thought "Oh my, what is about to happen?" Great performance by both of them. Just as Henk did with Emma, Floor got the best out of Tim, pushed him to up his game. That's what this is about!

Played this song for my mom over the weekend. During the part after the song ramps up she said "I see his mouth moving but I don't hear him" Floor is a bit.... overpowering when they were singing together :P

It might have been something in connection to sound levels as Jan Douwes suggests and what probably added to it is that TIm´s style of singing is very good for solo singing, not so sure about using it for duets; he was also moving back and forth before the microphone :-)

Tim Akkerman started out as the frontman in the Dutch rock band Di-rect. But year’s ago he followed his own road and became a singer-songwriter. Besides this he did a theatre show about Bruce Springsteen. He’s can do song from very small and intimate to full blown hardrock. Love his guts to follow this path. The Marcel Fisser band (say: fischer) is performing all those lovely songs for al the artist in Dear/Best Singers. But all the members are the top brass in The Netherlands with their own careers in different bands. Brought together they’re awesome! The supporting singers could easily participate as one off the 7 invited singers. But there are a lot more fabulous Dutch singers like Ilse de Lange, Yori Swart, Kris Berry, Lavalu, Celine Caïro, Anouk ore Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation) and Anneke van Giersbergen (Vuur) to name a few who deserve a world wide fanbase. Please comment on their singing if you can

Hi Martijn, Anneke van Giersbergen and Sharon den Andelhave an worldwide fan base already. In the Netherlands they are not that famous, because of the lack of knowledge by most of the dj’s and broadcasting stations. These company’s goes for the popular music only. Luckily I see that young people find the Symphonic Metal also and the good music. Look at Paradise of Within Temptation (77 billion views)

When Tim heard Floor sing the song solo he missed the male voice so now with the duets he wanted to sing it with floor because back in the day he watched her perform at the festivals either before him with his band or after his own performance there. And singing with her was a bucketlist thing for him so he can scratch that :P

As for the comments at around 5:30, this show is produced by what would be our equivalent of the American PBS (public broadcasting, government-funded). Because of that, they don't really have much of a stake in creating a larger fanbase (especially internationally) by translating the content. They're already licensing out the format to several other countries. Obviously, I agree it would be great if they did pay Denise to translate all of it, better for her and better for everyone else. I'm just trying to explain why it hasn't happened so far.

Its an amazing show, and i guess for certain generations, its even a bit of a throwback show as well. As it is in a similar range as the classic, and widely popular show "Yee haw", just a upgraded and more intimate version of it, in a way... But non the less, similar, "good ol' family fun TV", the kind we no longer have on Television, and this show does have all those ingredients we've been missing for so many years. I believe that that, and the talents on the show, are a major reason why this show strikes a cord with so many people all over the globe, "good oldfashioned slow TV" And on to the singers in this, Floor is Floor, enough superlatives have been given to her already (rightfully so) so for now, i'll stick to Tim instead. Tim has been on my radar from his early days with Direct on till today, even for us Dutchies, who are used to rockers in our charts, Tim was always different, a bit more true rocker than most. He's a really nice singer, raspy voice but warm, powerful and calm at the same time, and his songs still carry a message too, something i still value ;) If you choose songs by Tim, then maybe Dear Mr. President? i think thats an overlooked gem by him. (this show delivered so much great music, that its no surprise that pure gold is left out in the open, and nobody spots it) "there's still gold in them hills overyonder!" "ya just gotta find it" :) Ty for yet another lovely reaction Valerie, cant wait to see what comes next :D

Tim was the only participant of the show who really knew Floor ( and the splendor of her craft ) beforehand. Even before she joined After Forever which is way back. So he kinda knew what was coming. You‘ll notice his awe after she’d finished her first part of the duet. He momentarily forgot to play his guitar... great singer himself, although not nearly as effortless as Floor. Great collaboration, though. I like his style. Doesn’t he sound exactly like The Boss , especially in the beginning? And Floor.... well what hasn’t been said about Floor.... there’s no limit to what that lady can do... how many people have their very own hashtag, hm? #Floorgasmic again.

The biggest problem they had with this show was not getting the artists, the management was a problem, they had all those demands. That is why they went to Ibiza and basically said to the artists, just come to Ibiza and leave your manager at home. And they did, they wanted to do this show, format.

Stuff that I prefer Shallow with Floor to Lady Gaga is Floor's vocal very matchy to the instrument. When I heard Lady Gaga sang this song. I thought that she sang in someway but the piano's sound is the other way. I don't know about vocal technique but I don't like vocal and Imstrument have different tones. Lady Gaga has strong voice. I don't deny ít. But I don't like she sang this song.

Tim messed up lyrics in both performances and was too flat for my taste. I think better choice for him and Samantha would have been "It's only love", since he said himself that he's awful with foreign languages (except English). She was great, of course and Tina is her idol. The most perfect duets of the night for me were Floor/Henk - Phantom and Samantha/Rolf - No me ames.

Just look more of Tim on Beste Zangers, he did several incredible performances imo and like Floor and Henk, he's shown a lot of versatility with his song choice for each episode. If there is one song I liked he did was Dear Mr President and otherwise the song he did for Henk.
