The wolf’s natural instincts, speed, stronger sensitivities, stronger builds, and amazing stamina. Then the German shepherds’ loyalty, intelligence, and fearlessness? Wow they just made a whole new military troop.

I'm fortunate enough to have a friend in one of the training facilities in Czech Republic. In the last 20 years I got my hands on two czechoslovakian wolfdogs and even one volkosob that somehow found his way to their program here. They're amazing to work with, you can command them just by hand gestures without saying a single word and I got them for a fraction of their price. They all went through extensive military training but they were disqualified for being afraid of water and/or failing some of the tasks they had to learn but I eventually managed to get two of them swimming, took a lot of convincing :D

Russia still has brave wolves unlike in the US and most other western countries the brave ones (the ones to attack people and live stocks!) where not all killed off leaving the more easily scared wolves (also on a side not the scared wolves tend to be smaller as they are less prone to go near people to find food this has lead via genetics and diet to smaller wolves!) to continue on the blood lines so the Russian Wolves tend to be harder to scare and more violent as a result you breed that with hardy breeds like Tibetan Mastiffs, German Shepherds and the like you get an animal loyal to it's handler but very deadly to enemies and can take more then a few bullets to stop!!!

This was great and brought so many memories back of our two rescue dogs we had. Both lived to 16 years overlapping each other during a 24 year period.. I miss them so much for their gentle yet protective spirits. People talk of the different forms of love we have for each other, my two dogs taught me about a love and having a friend unlike any other. Our family security was guaranteed thru their loyalty plus they ate what we did and when they had dog food it had NO meat-by-products in it. Trader Jor's had a great product for dogs and cats.

Thank you Anneka! ❤️️ As usual, I really love your presentations of the various beautiful and impressive types of Wolfdogs! My "Nova" will be one year old this coming Sunday, the 8th of July. So far, it has been a really interesting journey, where I've learnt A LOT. Nova is also 25% wolf, being that her grandfather is a pure Arctic wolf. Mother is a black (German) Shepard from Afghanistan and father was a German Shepard hybrid from northern Canada. He was white with a silver mane. Nova is mostly black but does have some of the German Shepard colors on her legs and throat. Most people see her as a pure German Shepard, as long as they haven't been up close to a wolf and can pick out the some times subtle differences in looks and body language between the Shepard and wolf... So far, Nova is very social and outgoing, yet cautious and highly on alert when around unknown people. However, after the first initial "bounce away", she is quick to approach, sniff, greet and show affection. Hoping she won't change to much once she's grown into adulthood... I'm thankful that we live off grid on a mountain here in Canada and not in a city environment. I do bring her down with me to town a few times a month, just to socialize her, or rather desensitize her to new and unexpected situations. She does guard and has ever since she came out here when she was 9 weeks old. She knows which animals belong out here on the immediate property/yard and keeps a close eye on them. Especially our wild mama duck that flies in every spring to have her clutch of babies in the safety of our pond a few meters from the house. Those are HER babies and she'll give chase to any and all of the predatory birds that have tried to come down to snatch any of them away. She won't even let the mother robins land in the grass next to the pond to get a worm for their babies... 😉 She was so proud of herself today when she "tree'd" her first black bear that had "the nerve" to try to cross the/HER yard... I wasn't quite as thrilled as she was, since she's still my baby. 😨 Going through all the stages of letting 'my kid' grow up, as I did with my two-legged ones and it hasn't gotten easier! LOL //Solani

So a wolf that is social with humans basically and willing to attack if needed

Trainable, but probably not as sociable to humans as a real dog.

Mostly dog though, the idea was to take just a few wolf traits. Dogs are overall much more effective to be used by humans due to their genetic obedience and love for humans, much more social and willing to follow "orders" and learn new tricks and jobs.

@@xXFeralArtsXx Yes but wolves have better sense of smell and better bite strength. so by combining the two you get the best parts of both.
