Examples of pro with those swings: - straigth swing user: Lucas from Brazil - bow and arrow motion: Osmany Juantorena and Zaytsev from Italy, and many other players - circular motion: Yuji Nishida from Japan, Clayton Stanley from the USA Any arm swing can bring to the top level so everyone should test and use the best for them to play efficiently and to avoid injury
@naymorningstar3 жыл бұрын
Both Juantorena and Zaytsev use Snap, which is another armswing variant. It's done by cocking the arm with wrist shoulder level. Bruno and Sander use Bow and Arrow. Snap is another efficient arm swing, and is the best next to circular, with the added benefit of being able to have better accuracy and block vision. Circular is more deceptive and harder to use. Ironically, the arm swing used in this video to demonstrate Circular is Snap. The wrist must be further down below the shoulder, because in this video there is a stop in the arm swing.
@lifinker8743 жыл бұрын
@@naymorningstar Oooh I see what you're talking about for Juantorena and Zaytsev! That's kind of the swing I currently use. I completely agree with the accuracy part. I'm doing a circular motion and finish with a snap at the shoulder level. That kind of hit also saved my shoulder from injury!
@naymorningstar3 жыл бұрын
@@lifinker874 Yep, elbow high swings are trash. If you're willing to invest time into learning Circular though, you can get the same accuracy and block vision that you would get from Snap with the added benefit of deception and power.

Saw Nishida swinging with the third type, circular swing. It looks like he's swimming in mid-air. For me it's really hard to swing like that, it's just not intuitive to do so, and I rarely see players doing circular swings as well as Nishida does.

@@khangbanger its alot up to personal preference as well. You cant just say the third form is the worst just because there is a higher risk in hurting the shoulder if not executed properly. Alot of the international player uses the third, as well as the two other arm swings and can play super well, so its ultimately up to their personal preference, we cant guarantee they can play as well with other arm swing, partly because all the arm swings have different timings and some prefer either ones over the other

@@khangbanger True that. I have a rotator cuff injury from overuse. So I obtain the straight arm swing to prevent the shoulder from going past the impingement point. My shoulder is a lot healthier now. And one more thing, you can hit line by contacting half of the ball, it makes you less predictable.
@amagasamack27243 жыл бұрын
@@khangbanger pretty opposite, The risk for injury is smaller with CA as the rotator cuff is working in a less dangerous lower range of motion. i would say circular arm swing is for power straight arm is easier to aim and control the direction and the archer one is a mixture of both. so for your question it is is archer swing as it is versitaile sorry for bad english lol
@MonkeyNeuronActivation3 жыл бұрын
I would say they serve different purposes. First form, your arm's trajectory is the longest. It's the slowest swing, but it helps powering your jumping momentum. For higher spike height, this should be recommended. I spike with this form since I'm not satisfied with my spike height, and the full 2-arm-upswing really helps. Second form, most of the players I met take this form. It can spike fast and carry your arms momentum. However, because many players use this form, I feel like it's also the most predictable for receivers (defenders on ground). We're so used to this form, sometimes when the hitting arm is swinging down, we receivers already know where the ball is heading after the swing. Third form, I rarely see players doing so, but Nishida does this a lot. Since it's the rarest among three, it's hard to predict trajectory of the ball. Also, this form hides your attacking palm really well, making it harder for receivers to foresee. However, it takes a lot of time to practice doing so, and it's definitely not intuitive for the jumping motion and doesn't help carrying the momentum of your arms since only one arm's force is used to bring yourself upwards, but once you're used to it, you can spike hard and fast.
@co0kii3 жыл бұрын
@@MonkeyNeuronActivation good points, I also find with the circular motion the players who don’t have a long hang time have a tendency to hit it into the net because they often mistime the ball. The second form is generally considered ‘textbook’ and seems to be safest to use in terms of avoiding injury.
@khangbanger3 жыл бұрын
1st swing not good. Straight makes it too easy for people to see where you’re hitting. 2nd swing is the best in terms of form/power/accuracy. This swing is best for your body because everything follow through and you won’t mess up your rotator cuff. 3rd swing is by far the worst. You will get the most power but you will lose a lot in timing/hitting height. 3rd swing will ruin your rotator cuff and you will gain more shoulder injury. For any new players or current players who are still searching for the best form. Learn the bow and arrow this is the best and only standard that should be learn.
