Hi Jim, thank you for your comment. I like XC90 too and me and my wife we were check one for sale but to my surprise in the XC90 is narrower space at the back. Higher but less wide. So we decided to stay in the XC70 for now. I think also my next car will be newer XC70 because V90 CC is expensive for me. But maybe one day it will be XC90 :)

Very nice video! I love the video quality with the beautiful nature and the music. I've been thinking about switching m V70 for an XC70 since it has awd and a higher towing capacity. That way I could buy a big 2 tone caravan and live in that for cheap, and then take it with me on vacations. But a smaller caravan like the teardrop trailer you have looks perfect for more off-road camping though
@VolvoCamperLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Körve, thank you very much. For me is XC70 clear choice because of the better offroad capabilities. Good clearance and AWD are my "must have" things in the car since we going camping like this. Smaller caravan will be better for offroad of course. This teardrop weighed only about 700kg. Bigger caravan will have more comfort so depends what you prefer :)
I have a V40... With tout fault I want a xc70 😅👍 thx for your amazing videos

Don't know if it applies to this engine but I've read about turbos failing on high milage engine due to soot/ oil sludge build-up in the intake manifold. Basically, the soot in the egr-gases combines with the oil particles in the air that pases through the crank case vent into the intake manifold, making a black sludge that sticks to the walls of the manifold. Over time this layer of sludge builds up and decreases the overall cross-sectional area of the passages in the manifold. Smaller cross-sectional area means a higher boost preassure is needed to maintain the same level over all air flow (volume or mass depending on what the eninge measures). The engine management basically then asks the turbo to work at a permanently higher load/ pressure to maintain the air to fuel ratio. On engines where this is a problem, this permanent increase in load on the turbo is what's killing it. However, as you said in the video, for a turbo with 350 000 km and with an engine tune, it's not really a premature failiure.
@VolvoCamperLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your comment! You are right, what you describe is common characteristic for engines with turbo, specially diesel's which are dirtier and causing more sludge in manifold. I have already cleaned EGR and some other components and manifolds, for now turbo works good also after 350k km (issue from video was fallen hose from intercooler). I hope will holds at least next 50k km :)

Greetings from Romania! Also have the same bbq as you do,from Kaufland,many stuff from Decathlon and also Staropramen beer :) Own an S80 and an Xc90 both D5 awd automatic 185 hp. Also carry the dice with me and a saab/volvo dedicated autel diagnose tablet wich is more convenient and easier to carry. Quick question: Any problems after the engine tune up? Smoke? Gearbox kick ? And how many horse power after tune up. Myself was considering Polestar factory tune up,but 800€ is 15% if the cars value,so not worth it. I’m interested into the D5T5 vdash performance update remote tune up at a safe 205 hp value, which is enough and costs like 200€ . Did the s80 tft retrofit in my 2008. All the best!

Hi! Thank you for your comment and I greeting to Romania :) Nice to read this.. Yes, I have some equip from Decathlon and Staropramen is one of my favourite beers :) I have no problems after tune up. I made it when I had 306k km, now I have 355k km. It was pretty good deal, I applied it by myself with D5T5 and it costs about 360€ I think.. My is MY08, manufactured in 2007.. D5 136kw (185ps too). I bought and apply Stage 2 which is 158kW and 470Nm.. it looks like gearbox managed it well, more torque from engine also had a positive effect on the gear changes. Turbocharger already little bit whistled at time when I applied the new software. And gradually weakens.. I have in plan change it soon. IMO great hodling time for this turbo :) Let me know if you are make a performance update how satisfied are you with that :) Have a nice day.
