hi how do you know if the pressure regulating valve is failing or has failed? My car wont start. Scan tool says only 2000 kpa, ive replaced the high pressure fuel pump and primed it, it still wont start :(

Thanks for watching our channel The fuel system was contaminated with metal swarfs, so fuel lines have to be flushed with brake cleaner and compressed air, as fuel return line has fuel regulating valve in it to maintain 10 bar pressure opposed to the return fuel flow so therefore fuel return line cannot be cleaned out or flushed that has to be renewed.

Thanks for watching our channel, Yes, it can be removed without removing the fuel rail, i removed the fuel rail because the fuel system was contaminated with metal swarfs so i had to clean and flush it out..

Hi mate, I replaced my fuel pressure regulator, tightened until I can't tighten anymore but when cranking I can hear/see pressure escaping from the regulator, does the small nut and bigger but meant to have a gap between them or touching?

Thanks for watching our channel It is for one time use, once you have slacken it, you have to replace it with new one because the regulator valve has deformation edge, and the tightening torque specification is given in the video you can obtain it from the video

No, it has deformation edge the edge of the FPRV can only forms once to the fuel pressure rail first time installation only.

@@stanhopeautorepaircentrewardak okay. I was asking because I have vw passat 2013 2.0 tdi SE. Car won’t star just cranks. Cleaned the fuel tank and relace the intank fuel pump. Dealer keep claiming there was water in it i think just to void my warranty.. No metal shavings in the system. Injectors won’t fire for some reason. Could i still have bad hpfp?

Whit little finesse I managed to do this job whitout removing the fuel rail, just unplug the connectors, releas the hardline screws to the hardlines running behind the valve and unscrew the valve from the rail

Can someone please help me on this one. I have replaced fuel pressure regulator(N276) on my Audi A3 8PA TDI and fixed the no start issue, but now engine shakes very rapidly on idle. He did not shake that much before replacement. So my question is do I need to do adaptation of the new fuel pressure regulator(N276) in VCDS? Maybe that is why my car is shaking so much now, no adaptation is done? There is option in VCDS to reset the N276 and also an option to do the adaptation of N276, but I am afraid to do it as I could brake something if no adaptation is necessary. Please help. Thank you
