@Bart Lee after a second thought I realized that I actually ended up seeing them one more time in Dec 2018 at a festival called Christmas Bash. I almost flew to Helsinki to attend their last gig, but for some reason I didn’t, which is something i’m going to regret for the rest of my life now. Alexi was a childhood hero of mine and his passing has changed the way I look at music today. May he rest in peace.

@@mnbornlight98 really loved the show. had everything i like about metal in it, worked well even on a festival stage, even in daylight. very good fit for Wacken (obviously). they had to cancel the instrumental encore at the end of the show because they probably ran out of time, which was a shame.

I think I saw them doing Hate Crew Death Roll with Amon Amarth and Trivium at a shitty venue in Canada. The Croatian cutler center.... yeah that place sucked but they were awesome, Amon were just getting known so it was pretty special

Alexi was 41 and nearing 42, wouldn't exactly call that 'young'. But yes, he had a talent for complicated guitar work and it struck everyone who loved metal and grew up with CoB's music. They were the band that got me into heavier stuff and it was all downhill from there (in a good way) ;)
