The main issue with the Koopa Kingdom is a massive wasteland with no fertile land. Koopa kingdom has to import all of it's food. While the land is very suitable for heavy industry to build war machines, feeding a workforce to build stuff is the main obstacle. The reason Bowser needs the Mushroom Kingdom is the fact that it's 90% rolling hills and countryside. Apart from his power plays to kidnap peach and annex the kingdom they must have a working relationship for trade hence why they will participate in multi kingdom sporting events without actively boycotting them.

I don't think Bowser even tries in the first place. He can come up with genius plans when he wants to. Thing is, he doesn't 90% of the time. He is more so a friend of Mario and Peach than an enemy at this point. Peach even sends him get well cakes.

The key difference is that Ganondorf is devil incarnate, Bowser is a good willed guy who doing bad things because he's not very smart, the end result of Mario losing would be different to BOTW, or even Sonic Forces because Eggman kind of is the human form of Skynet or some shit like that. I can see the world first being in total chaos and fear then Bowser progressivelly acting for each issue, testing things, making mistakes and ending up with a happy world after a few decade or reform spam madness.

Compared to Gannon, he's a good guy, if Gannon was invited by Likn to do some horse obstacle course he'd use it as a way to kill and capture, Bowser just shows up to sports event, behave like a jock, maybe cheat a bit and leave everyone to be and get back home to be a fimilly guy with junior then start plotting against the mushroom kingdome again, when he was there with his army and everyone at arms reach a few hours ago.

I'm genuinly convinced it's part of why he wants to conquiere other lands so much, especially the green luxuriant mushroom, I don't fully recall the saying about neighbores having greener grass, but here it's literal, I'm pretty sure that koopas enjoy green grass fields much more than hot stones surounded by lava with sulfure dust in the air.

Imagine this. The Malice from Calamity Ganon corrupts the bones of Bowser (Dry Bowser) and makes a whole new fusion form of a mix between Gigs Bowser and Ganon's form from Ocarina and some guardian things on him from Botw. Imagine how badass that would look. Both Bowser and Ganon in the same body, mind, and spirit gone corrupt.

How do you know how the power stars works. When we look at the 3d Marios he actually uses the power stars. For example in Super Mario Galaxy. The power Star doesn’t make him invincible but rather just gigantic. Maybe that‘s the case in the 2ds Mario aswell, but we don’t no.

I have some ideas: 1. Use magic to turn Mario and Luigi evil by luring thim into a trap. This makes it so then the 2 main heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom now serve Bowser. 2. If they he can go to any dimensions that aren’t Nintendo, he could get help from the Covenant and the apothicons, both of which the Mario Bros and the Mushroom Kingdom have never encountered before (and before anyone say anything about the Covenant, how can Mario take on a giant monster made of worms or a creature that goes berserk whenever or when it looses it’s helmet or an elite that’s invisible and have energy shields) 3. Same as the last one, but no Covenant and apothicons, it’s every enemy forces from Call of Duty 4. Make a Death-Star-like-ship that can destroy most of the Mushroom Kingdom, unless the residents accept being ruled over Bowser and Mario and Luigi agree to not interfere with him. These are some things he Bowser can do to take over the Mushroom Kingdom.

A couple of ideas that Bowser could try to win. 1. Try eating Mario again, but this time chew before swallowing. Those sharp teeth are there for a reason. 2. Although it's been done multiple times in other games. Maybe Bowser should try to create his own darkside Mario Bros team that would usually beat Mario to everything so his journey seems like a waste. I know we have Wario, Waluigi, Bowser Jr. who was shadow Mario and the cosmic clones, but if Bowser created something more superior and very identical to the real Mario then he would basically have something to tire out Mario in a never ending duel with his dark clone counter part.
