That red card was rough. Considering no cards for Wales at all

The funniest thing today, being a Welsh fan in the stadium was that the biggest cheer (greater than the Welsh tries) was when Elias finally hit his jumper with a line out throw… it’s almost become comedic, it’s awful. One fan shouted ‘SA will be quivering now’ after that line out. For the fans, it’s become so bad, they are just laughing at their team now… its all you can do to not cry

This will sound harsh, but just looking at the Australian players and then the Welsh and the physiques are totally different. The welsh forwards are lumpy, the Australians built. The contrast is similar in the backs, except that the aussie backs are built like back rowers. To round things off, the aussies are packed with speed. The aussie center who scored the last try, size and great acceleration away from a slightly built Welsh defender. It was similar to the england game last week, mostly the backs loomed a little under sized and under paced. The Scotland v Australia game will be interesting

Speaking as an Englishman, I take no pleasure in seeing how far and how fast Wales have fallen as a rugby nation. How and why the WRFU have let this happen is just beyond me. They make the RFU look like the height of competence and professionalism.

I was at the game today… and when I tell you the crowd’s groans at Gatland’s ‘super subs’ Costelow and Elias🙄😂😂 they should never be near a Welsh jersey again… Elias losing us 5 line outs in a row? Unforgiveable… costelow’s intercept pass? Also unforgiveable. Costelow takes it to the line but only makes his mind up what he’s going to do as he reaches the line and it’s so telegraphed… Gatland has got to go.

Just dont know where Wales go from here Wales where just a disaster apart from 20 mins in the 2nd part of the 1st half The WRU i feel needs to bite the bullet and go down to 2 regions and concentrate the welsh talent and let the big players they cannot afford play in France ,England ect Also have to give pludits to J.Schmidt for making Australia competitive in such a short period of time Wales are now officially in a major crisis That even W.Gatland maynot be able to dig them out of
@cliftonboyz19593 күн бұрын
All 3 SA scrumhalves could learn a lot from the Aussie SH in terms of quick service from the base, not wasting time digging the ball out of rucks. The Aussie loosies are very effective and hunt together.

Whilst there are not many positives for Wales, there were a couple of good performances. I thought Griffin showed some real quality at TH, IMO he is someone to build the front row around. Wainwright reminded us that he is a very good international No. 8 and likewise Morgan at flank. Wales does have the makings of a decent, if possibly lightweight, pack, the problem is lack of strength in depth: LH: Thomas is adequate, not particularly destructive but will not let Wales down. Back up to him is a problem, Wales have tried multiple players and none have convinced. Hooker: Lake is a good international quality player, Elias sadly is not, at least not until he fixes his throwing issues and tbh it is probably too late for that TH: Griffin is a talent that the front row have to build around. Assiratti is OK as back up, but no better than that. Locks: Tshiunza, Dafydd Jenkins, Rowlands there are 3 very good locks, problem is Wales need 4 in the squad and I have never been a fan of Beard who disappears from games when it gets tough. Flanker: Reffell and Morgan are class players but play the same way. If Wales had a massive front 5 they could be played together but as Wales do not they need a big 6, and do not seem to have a player like that who is playing well enough. No 8: Wainwright is a great 8 but there is no alternative. The pack wins games, the backs determine by how many. Wales currently have a pack that pretty much every tier 1 nation, and a few tier 2 nations, should dominate. Based on the weekends games, the 6N match against France could be a massacre

Aussie rugby fan here. After seeing Wales (well most of them) in Australia in July and then the last couple of weeks, I think you are spot on. There are a few talented players surrounded by average players and not enough depth anywhere. That's the peril of playing off a small professional base. There isn't a short cut back to success. I suspect Wales will have a few more difficult years ahead.

Sad really, Well done Australia, good show, you are building. Wales, well a bit of a mess. With SA next week it is unlikely to get any better. Hard to know what to say really. Don,t sack the coach, that is the least of your issues for now. Really you sure be looking for some talent and experience ,which looks like being in rather short supply. This could be a long hard journey. Thank you WRU for making this possible.
