To spot friendlies make sure to do t41 also can be called the follow me command. Most teammates will respond and will give you a live location of where they are on the map.

T42 is better imo. Sometimes teammates are a bit less smart than you would prefer and only look at map icon which is an ! in the case of t41 and shoot anyway.

Im so glad that Sim has been popping off ever since the amraam update. And now that the amraam is a bit nerfed its so much fun. I would recommend every one that loves top tier planes but hate Air rb to give it a try! And you dont need all that fancy equipment. I play keyboard and mouse and no form of eye tracker. and I still wipe enemy players very easily.

As a former F-16 Avionics mechanic, I recommend looking at the MFD in the cockpit instead of the the radar screen the game gives you on your mid right. Doing this is a part of the core workload of a pilot, because you can also glace your attitude, altitude, bearing, and VVM with a quick glance and collect all of that information at once so you arent constantly tempeted to check all the time and focus more on your taticical manouvoures

Sim is a fantastic way to slow down the cocaine rat gameplay of either Ground RB or Air RB. I've been enjoying it a lot more for that reason even if the barrier to entry is higher.

I absolutely adore simulator mode in VR, it's so relaxing when you're looking for targets, and so satisfying in dog fights or dynamic medium-range engagements at top tier. My only real issues with simulator are the abysmal silver lion gain at top tier (I lose silver lions unless I'm holding a kd of 3:1) and the fact that targeting pods can't be moved whilst in cockpit view... There's no keybinds to move it! You have to switch view like you would in any other mode where the tracker takes up your entire screen, which in VR is super frustrating and nauseating!

Yay! we bullied another RB player to join us simboys. I like sim just for the reason it gives you a chance to play alot different situation and tactics when everyone isnt spawning at the same time and games dont end within 10 minutes. Gripen shows distance to target youre tracking with radar in the HUD under crosshair, in 10:37 it shows R 3.3 (miles) and when youre locking A2A missile it shows kilometers as on that same moment has 5.4 (km) in the HUD. and that missile range scale as a horizontal line in the same section. I hope that helps with the ranging.

Keeping the scan narrow is a good idea for reasons you’ve said, but also it’s good because if you’re scanning wide you’re pinging enemies from all over. Edit also, you should bing manual radar controls for tilt direction and selection

Do you have experience with IRtrack5? How does it compare to the Tobii? Most say that the IRtrack is still better with more accurate tracking in DCS etc..

All headtrackers are better than eye-tracking solutions. With headtrackers you can look at the different parts of your monitor using your eyes' movement while maintaining required camera position. Also head movements are way smoother than eye movements. Tobii does a good job of software smoothing, but all headtracking devices also do that

It’s the same thing for Console and PC. Instead of buying something with the PS Store, click on the creator’s affiliate link and then sign into the special page it takes you to on Gaijin’s website. I was playing in VR, but war thunder's vr is pretty much unusable with WMR because you can't set render scale and enemy planes despawn when you look at them. So I was trying to fight him based off his smoke trails and position on my RWR because I pretty much couldn't see his plane 😭
