Thanks for the summary, neat! One thing, though - I remember having heard this game has a narrative focus but so far I have seen no further information on this aspect. Do you know how this focus will manifest in Warcrow? Is this going to be old-school randomapalooza with checking tables and roling dice aplenty, or something player-driven, smarter and more modern?

At the moment, what I've seen of that focus is more in the battle box. There, the scenarios have an intro per faction, then an outro based on the game plus results can have impacts on later games.

Not sure how I feel about movement. I wish it was in inches/centimeters instead of "strides". Also iffy on the placement of the template. It requires only straight line movements (which is ok, but a bit board-gamey). You also can't quickly hover a ruler over a model and move it, you have to place it down next to the mini multiple times because you have to account for its base size twice. IMO this is going to make the "game flow" less smooth than Infinity or any other minis game that uses traditional movement.

Having played games that use templates for moving;Legion, MCP, shatter point and fallout wasteland warfare, I find that moving is a lot quicker and flows really nicely compared to using a tape measure, it just takes a moment to get used to
@thedicegodswg3 ай бұрын
Agreed. Like any system, the details take time to adjust to.
@thedicegodswg3 ай бұрын
As Syzl103 said, it's amazing how quickly you get used to that. Legion does this and it's not an issue. Plus, the lower terrain density should make this easier to do overall. I've seen a lot of players moving over to gaming widgets, over tapemeasures, so I think, with time, you'll be good. But it will certainly take some getting used to...!

Never been the biggest fan of the dice since Arestiea! but I think you make a solid argument. Going down a list of modifiers can also be tedious.

Thanks. I think it'll work. As I say, used to not be a fan, but now I get it. We shall see if that translates when playing the game though.

I like most of what I'm seeing. Reminds me most of Legion... specifically Legion skirmish, which is one of my favorite sized wargames. Only, unlike Legion Skirmish (which is wildly unbalanced), this game is designed to be at that level. I understand most of the rules except the circle determining the round order and number of activations. If you're looking for another video, that'd be my recommendation. How the turn order/rounds/activations per round work with that circle thing.

Thanks for watching. Totally agree on the legion reference. Expect how to play guides dropping in the coming weeks... :)

What would be the difference between assualt long skill which is move ad attack and the short skill which is move and attack?
@thedicegodswg3 ай бұрын
So, Assault is a move + an attack skill Charge is a long skill which lets you move the charge value of a unit (the bracketed number on their movement stat on the profile) in a straightline then attack. For the Wisemane in the video, an assault would be a 2 stride + a 3 stride move (allowing a turn) then attack. The charge would be a 9 stride, straight move, then the attack. If you play Infinity think Move+CC skills vs Beserk. Make sense?

Hating this, colourblind friends can't play because of these dice, and a warcrow is going on a defensive spurt trying to say that people without colourblindness can't raise the issue. It's left me with a horrible view of corvus belli. It's a shame, loved infinity.
@thedicegodswg3 ай бұрын
Where have you seen a "defensive spurt"? Can you link, please?
@dave4deputyZXАй бұрын
I'm sure they'll address this in some way. Maybe by bringing out dice with different symbols instead of colours. Or different sized dice to differentiate them. They have a good record of responding to community feedback in my opinion.
@nameisbadАй бұрын
@@dave4deputyZX that's weird, I replied to him and the comment isn't there. Almost like it was deleted... Also I emailed them about the warcrow issue and the dice issue, no response. It's a fundamental flaw, using colored dice is really a bad idea, best they could do is one white, one grey and one black, dunno what else.
