Fun fact I doubt is in any iceberg "Ultramar" can be translated as "beyond the sea", and as historically been used to refer to colonial territories. So Ultramarines could be called "colonial marines", which I think either is another a reference(or rip off) from the aliens franchise or the real life Ultramar War that ended 10 years prior to the creation of the 40k setting with the carnation revolution

One could argue that most of what you said about Orks - their guns "not working, but they do", colours having quasi-magical properties, them "basically being mushrooms" - comes not before some time below the waterline, so to speak. That's already quite in depth Ork lore you would not get at first (or often even second) look at them.

fun fact GW ripped the name for the eldar from tolkein, the history of the elves in middle earth is long but the group that was left to stay in middle earth (which had no sun) were the Eldar, which means Star people, as they lived perpetually under the stars.

So, has Krieg been retconned? Genuine question, because IIRC the Death Korps first emerged about 500 years before Chaos broke Cadia, after a "centuries-long" civil war. Even with a generous allowance for "centuries", that could easily have all happened within the last millennium. Which is shockingly recent compared to the 10k years and counting since the Heresy.

One thing I’m surprised to see that a lot of 40K content creators don’t touch on are the comics and old graphic novels. They had some interesting stories and weird lore. I remember in one of the graphic novels they had a Genestealer infect a Salamander. Weird medium iceberg stuff.

Haven't seen this meme, but looking forward to where Imperial Fists end falling. ...I mean, there technically are no Imperial Fists, or rather, there is one, the Primaris plug-ins, and the other chapters that donated troops to take up the armor of the Fists. It's why the 8th Company's Captain (to my knowledge) is still a Black Templar. There's also the whole giving up their names thing to be given a Wall Name as a Wall Brother upon full induction. Id argue brotherhood is stronger among the Imperial Fists than any other Chapter to the point of collecting the bones of leaders and friends to scrimshaw and carry into future battles. There's also the masochism thing... "Agony is our culture" and the 2nd company being one of penance to pay for the sins of for not only themselves but all Fists. They also seem a bit more touched by the tism than most, but I mean Dorn was so set in his reality that the immaterium broke down around him, so comes with the territory, I guess.
