It's actually a normal reaction to keep holding on to an object. When we were kids my sister fell overboard because she was returning from the bow with the club book in one hand and a pencil in the other hand and she couldn't grab a stay and lost her balance. The boat captain is responsible for his passengers, period. If the jet skiers are not there the girl would not be visible to other boats between wakes and waves and could have easily been struck by a boat coming in or going out, if she doesn't drown first. And she did not have a life vest on. And apparently the captain did not see her go overboard? That Captain must have his eyes on everything associated with his boat and was required by law to make a rescue attempt immediately unless doing so was a danger to his vessel or crew or passengers.

Ranger 231 agree that skipper and guests are not very bright. Skipper did attempt to turn around but saw the jet ski going for her. A throwable should have at least been thrown. Going after her with a large boat in choppy water can be very dangerous for the one in the water. Very easy to be crushed and chopped up by the props in the chop. Throwable and a throw line would have been the preferred method of rescue for the larger craft. Jet ski was the best option. Skipper wisely moved out of his way and found safer water for the transfer. Wonder how many skippers brief their passengers on man overboard actions.

Wow, that Young Lady was fortunate. I think her sphere of knowledge now extends to getting launched off a boat & how predictably unpredictable rough water can be. She should've been told to get aft until they were past the waves which the Skipper should've been more aware of. I think Miami-Dade Police should issue the Skipper a citation for loosing a passenger in rough water & not having any of the passengers wear vests in rough water. I understand that vests aren't required but w/ the kind of rough water & tides that are created in the Haulover, that should be a requirement. She'll remember this for the rest of her life, that's good.

One of the other Haulover channels shows a little more of the overboard drama. While the stupid ass captain kept going a dude jumps into the strong current to help, right by the prop and with no PFD. Another Jetski saved him. Wavy - how'd you miss that part? Maybe time to get 1 or 2 extra cameras recording a fixed segment of the inlet? Thanks for the many hours of entertainment.

One jackass after another in this video. Captain is responsible for the safety of all passengers. Letting anyone ride on the deck is insane thru that inlet or any time underway for that matter. That girl tossed from the bow rider was lucky the jet ski dude was nearby. This was probably going to get bad quickly. That captain either thought reckless is fun - or he had no clue how to navigate clearly rough inlet conditions safely. Glad all worked out. Hope the phone survived - more insanity.

First time taking the boat out 🤣 looked like he had a hard enough time going forward much less actually handle a boat PROPERLY. Thats the problem noboy takes their boat out when its semi rough and sees how it handles as long as its less than 20mph. An old captain told me its better to leave the dock if its a little rough cause chances are most of the time itll fall out, than to leave the dock calm theres only one thing it can do that is breeze up
