What about the 2012 debate when Obama laughed at Mitt Romney for bringing up the russians as a threat, and said the russians havent been a threat since the 1980s and if you think they are you know nothing and havent been paying attention. Or 4 months prior to the election when Obama was told that the russians were attempting to hack the DNC servers, he was told months before the election and told his intelligence agencies to stand down and do nothing. Is that treason or is that just an oopsies my bad?

Moe hate to break it to you but what Obama said and did about Russia while in office was intended to deny Putin the central place on the world stage as a U S equal that he yearned for, which of course Trump has granted him to an even greater extent than Putin could have ever dreamed! His money was certainly well spent. Your comments about Obama telling the agencies to stand down on Russian hacking are incorrect, please get your news from sources other than Fox. We need a law that denies Trump the power to ever again meet with another world leader in secret: there must be an adult in the room who reads the briefs beforehand instead of playing golf like this idiot did, along with a law protecting the Mueller investigation. The New York media have documented countless ties between Trump, the Trump organization and Russians with shady backgrounds. Way past time to see those tax returns!

The White House's own OMB put out that the deficit is set to pass $1 trillion in 2019, and only grow higher after 2020; but they know Trump Fans never read the CBO and OMB reports so Kudlow can lie with impunity. Val Francis is absolutely right to be worried about the country, Trump's ripple effects continue well past the time he is gone. Matt, I'm pretty sure that most of Trump's supporters do not see his mistakes one bit. Consider his behavior BEFORE the election, and his people didn't care. Many stated they would still vote for him even if he committed murder and rape. Consider Roy Moore and the extremely serious allegations he had. He lost, but he took millions of votes anyway. Consider Michael Grimm. He attacked and threatened a reporter on live television, saying that he would break him in half and throw him over the balcony. He later won reelection despite that and already facing 20 federal criminal charges. There is some weird mental disease spreading among many Republicans.

So if Trump says something about the russians it matters , but if obama knew about the russians hacking us and allowed the russians to do it without acting it doesnt matter? What kind of logic are you using?

Those Republicans who pay attention only to trump’s weird correction, rather than his entire speech care more about their political futures than they care about our country. They are making themselves into trump’s posse and will find themselves riding into hell following his lead. Colbert’s monologue hits every point perfectly while giving us a good laugh, which in these dark days is sorely needed. Thank you! 👍

Sometimes I can't help but feel like all thesr jokes are somehow lessening the severity of what just happened. The president of the united state's sold us out to a foriegn power. The president of the united states expressed that he believed the leader of a hostile nation over the finest men and women of the intelligence community. The president of the united states was briefed only days after being inaugurated of Russia's interference of the 2016 elections. He has more infornation than the American people on this matter, and all the people who know as much as he does, believe without question that Russia interfered in the elections. This is treason. At BEST, Donald Trump made plans to allow Russia to infiltrate our intelligence community because his pride wouldnt allow him to admit that he won a rigged election. That's our best case scenario. But Occam's razor, based off everything we know, is pointing at the fact that Trump is being blackmailed by the Russian leader. The unthinkable has happened, the President of the United States is compromised....
