The “sheet” or plate in between the wheels on the trailer is for aerodynamics. Those sheets help increase aerodynamics and add a noticeable amount of overall mpg’s for a big rig truck. If a range for a truck would be 450 miles without it, they may see 475 miles when those aero bits are added for example.

The big sheet under the trailers of tractor trailers is for aerodynamics. It stops the air from pushing under the truck and creating resistance. Those skirts instead force the air to flow down the truck and off of the back of the truck.
@IceKoldKilla Жыл бұрын
It's a hood racing movie. Street racing. Growing up broke but wanting more. It was cool. Still has cringe lines but it's too damn nostalgic for me. I've watched it all my life since it released. The original obviously. I went to the movie theater to see 2 and 3 as well. After that I still went but almost because I felt I had to. Didn't go to see 7 in the theater. Waited for it online. Haven't seen anything after. And fuck that spin off that caused drama between Vin and Dwayne. I still wish someone would make a proper street racing movie. Imagine a big budget for a movie in Japan like Tokyo Drift or one in the US and even UK. But keep it in the streets. Definitely gotta be hood shit. Crime. Not just rich white kids racing Daddy's car.

Sheeting on trailers is for aerodynamics, as people have said already, but the trailers in the movie were raised up and air brake lines, spare tires, etc. were removed. Most of the stories I’ve heard of cars going under trailers in the real world (typically bad wrecks at night or in the fog at intersections) result in decapitation.

My Jefito was a trucker. When I first saw this movie I noticed that rig had been specially made for that stunt...it still looked pretty firme though. My Jefe looked at me and we laughed when he said "I wonder how many tontos are gonna go try that now in the I-5?"
@IceKoldKilla Жыл бұрын
The truck thing in movie uses a modified truck. It's explained in the behind-the-scenes on the DVD or Blu-ray too I guess. But yeah, stunts require faking for the camera. It happens all the time. No truck is that fucking high with nothing underneath lol. It was lifted and had shit removed just to fit the car. Trucks have that I guess as standard. Someone below said for aerodynamics which makes a lot of sense.

Imagine Ghost Rider: Robbie Reyes as a bario action horror movie!.....youve got gangs, car chases! Met a couple of young stoners at my last job ages ranging from 19- 23 saying that half baked was the best stoner movie ever, yet they never seen any cheech and chong movies and some of them would wear shirts or beanie's of cheech and chong which I thought was sad.
