I've been playing a bit and the worst thing is the missed opportunity. Sure, you can build your team... But a team is entirely pointless, because you never have more than one PC active. The gameplay would have been so, so much fresher if you could take multiple PC's into a mission and hotswap between them, pulling off creative ploys, making distractions, etc. Instead, you swap and you're just outside the location with no progress lost. Plus they really should have had actual characters mixed in or discoverable so that while you do mess around with randoms, there could still be actual character arcs. It really would have made this work more than it currently does.

I didn't play WD2, never made it past Act 2 of the original either. Legion I can definitely see myself finishing though. The story has its moments, London is really well realised, and as negative as I was on the legion system, it's also what I've spent at least half of my time messing around with. It's still unique and fun even if it isn't integrated as much as I'd have liked, definitely worth a shot.

I'm sorry but I think boring people need others to walk them through playing with toys and gadgets. The fun part of Watchdogs and the story itself is and never has been about the characters, it is about the world and the state of the world. It is totally about how you as the player affects the world. Not being able to make a character interesting is the player's fault as the game mechanics are there to allow you interact with the world and not really tell one personal story. The ambition of Watchdog's systems while sticking to its theme from above are insane. I understand from a min/max point of view it isn't gamey, but the series never was. Why am I doing X with method Y can usually be attributed to the world story and not a singular character. When you are able to make this switch, the game really opens up as you see why a person joined you "randomly" when in actuality you just saved their niece from prison or their lover from being beaten.

You guys forgot to mention that you can get Watch Dogs Legion and AC Valhalla for PC for just 15 dollar if you subscribe to Uplay Plus for a month. It's a cheap way to play both games if you're not really sure about them.

I think the complaint is that this game is designed to be approached from multiple angles, and so there should be more than a single entrance so you can approach it how you wish. In a game that is supposed to promote experimentation, a single entrance makes it feel linear and removes incentive to experiment with different play-styles.

Oh my god, watching greg load up watch dogs on the series x finally made the whole "next gen is about convenience" idea finally click. Watching people present it as fast always sets expectations for it, but seeing it just being casually used is amazing. My PS4 is so loud at this point that I havent played it since moving into my dorm in august. My ps5 cant arrive soon enough.

Saying Watch Dogs 2 didn't "sell well" is wrong. It sold more than 10 million copies the same as the original. If Legion sells at least that we will see a sequel.

I'm with Andy on this. Its definitely one where you gotta just set opinions aside and dive into it yourself, maybe on next gen instead. I'm playing it on the ps4 pro and its surprisingly engaging. The voice acting can be bad, there is a story, but ultimately the world is the selling point for me. I love it.

Worth noting that if you were planning on playing on PC, it's included in Uplay+ (as will be AC Valhalla and Immortals), so you could drop $15 for a month to try it out if you're on the fence.

This game was delayed. It was supposed to be out more than 6 months ago. Let this sink in. I wish they would have continued Aiden's story. People are too harsh on him but he has his reasons. What did they expect when the guy loses many people close to him. WD2 was childish and gemicky and I couldn't bother playing it.

@@ip96.7.21 Obviously, this can be subjective... Yes people are enjoying it, despite the flaws that are very documented at this point. (And if someone loves the game, I am happy they do and I support that! I'm not trying to ruin someone's enjoyment of the game). People will also play the game differently... (run around the world causing chaos, or, playing the campaign, etc.) I know that for me, if core mechanics don't work in a game I won't enjoy it... those bug/design issues are pretty clearly documented and mentioned in reviews. To me, it sounds like the game needed another 6-12 months before it was released... *shrug* doesn't mean people can't enjoy it in its current state. Hopefully they will fix the issues and bugs as they roll out the season pass content.

@@TyroneBurns I could go back to all of his reviews or opinions and pull anything but even from the first what 20 minutes of this he's already brought up one example of him being unable to do a mission with the spider bot then says how he was able to do that mission with the drone and claims it's ubi telling him how they want him to do the mission where to me it just sounds like he couldn't do it

Game Pass has changed how I value games now. Before Game Pass, I would've brought this for £50 and would've been ok with it being "OK". Now, I have a catalogue of "OK" games on Game Pass or i can just wait for "OK" games to land on Game Pass. Not saying Watchdogs will but atm, I'm more reluctant than ever to drop £50-£60 on an OK game. I wish they would've nailed it with this game, I was so hyped

40:40 I think that is intended, because the characters have different opinions on Dedsec and if they don't like you that much, then you have to do a mission, but that state changes when you free boroughs. So maybe they were indifferent about Dedsec but you freeing a borough made them like you, so that you didn't need to do a mission for them!

It is pretty rough listening to 3 people who haven't finished and 2 of which haven't even played over 10hrs try to "review" something. It was obvious by their criticisms. Andy had more in depth criticisms and actually understood the game because he has played 30hrs. While everything else was surface level issues but since yall didn't play the game yet, you had to extend the surface level critiques for basically the entire video. You have Greg and Imran saying it doesn't hold up over time yet neither has played over 10hrs. It really feels like Andy is reviewing what he played, while Greg and Imran are reviewing their preconceived notions as opposed to the actual product in front of them. And miss me with the "so far" garbage, they made countless definitive statements about something they haven't played. They are reviewing what they expect to see or feel like it will be not what it is, because they haven't played it. This is very disingenuous if you don't have the time to do a proper review, give yourself the time or don't do it. To be clear I couldn't careless if you don't like the game, to me looks like a solid "wait for a sale" no masterpiece so I'm not "defending" this game. I'm taking issue with people "reviewing" something definitively, making giant accusations and critiques without actually playing through it.

Anyone claiming to review a product should absolutely play more than 10hrs if the game is 40hrs+. There were multiple criticisms made that have in game explanations or were bugs but were presented as core issues, that Andy tried to explain (because he played 30hrs+.) It was quite clear Greg and Imran came into this expecting Ubi open world blah blah and proceeded to "review" their expectations, concerns, and preconceived notions about the game, not the game itself. So hard disagree that it is acceptable for someone "reviewing" something to not play at least the lion's share of the game and adding cop-out qualifiers like "so far" should not be acceptable, you're quite literally not reviewing the whole product, period.

I miss when Ubisoft was the Tom Clancy company and would put out amazing Story and PVP games the rainbow six franchise, ghost recon, and splinter cell with the assassins creed sprinkled in and fry cry. Now every fucking game has to be this huge boring map with fetch quests and so much shit that feels like a chore and not fun, with no love and feeling in their games anymore. I miss the OG xbox and 360 ubisoft. They're fucking trash this gen imo and went from my favorite developers to now I look at them like EA and Activision, when I see a game made by them im like eh maybe ill try it one day.

Legion is going to suffer from a character connection issue. When you can play as anyone you just play it without any actual connection with the character.

I agree, but that would destroy their entire play any character thing. The only thing that can help the story is the strong main characters you don't control. If you can be attach to the group leaders and those driving the story then maybe it could be fine. This is difficult from a narrative perspective.

This Watch Dogs does nothing for me. I think it would've been better if I was allowed to make my own choices and character, join up with dedsec. And maybe down the road I can double cross dedsec and make my own crew.... That's just me

This is exactly the game I thought it would be aside from the bugs. Create a Character is cool, but they should've put a lot of focus on the story and made a cast around you if the MC is going to be a cipher.

The problem with the gameplay loop is that there isn’t a sufficient enough reward. Recruiting different characters is what they want the reward to be but there system just isn’t that thought out. If they really thought about this system they would have something that rivaled the Nemesis system.
